What Stopper Goes With That?

How many times have you racked your beer to a carboy, or made a yeast starter, only to find out you don’t know what size stopper fits in it? If you’re like me, I keep airlocks in my stoppers, ready to fill & go. So, which size do you need? Here’s how I solved that problem.

Find out which size stopper fits your specific need, with the airlock already installed. It’s very hard to fit a stopper in something, only to have to put the airlock in it later on. Since all carboys are different, as are Erylenmeyer flasks used in yeast starters, you’ll have to determine which size is best for you.

Ok. So now what do I do? Easy. You place a dot
of fingernail polish or other suitable substance on top of your stopper, under the airlock. Then, you put a corresponding dot on whatever you’re matching up with. That way, you’ll always grab the right stopper/airlock combination.

Hope this helps.
