“A night shop, and although not a specific beer shop, this is to me the best place for craft beers in town, with probably also the biggest choice (even bigger than specialists like Bierkoning). Both a lot of Amsterdam- en Dutch brews, but also a lot of top international beers. Also kind and expert people inside. They started this huge collection for the best reason: out of joy, interest and personal drive. (They by the way also have a huge gin collection).“

“Visited 23.10.21 while on transit to Zanzibar. Five of their own beers and Heineken on tap. Very chilly inside - both in terms of temperature and atmosphere. Friendly and quick service.“

“Best beer-place in Amsterdam hands down. Great services. Knowledgeable and Friendly staff. Fifty (50!) taps of hoppy beverages. American centric but also local (american style) beers as well. Amazing selection. Little gem in the center of Amsterdam. Nice to sit-down and relax with a refreshing pint after strolling the streets of Amsterdam.“

“Visited on a Saturday afternoon, from 16:00 hrs on. Turned out to be their 1Y anniversary party, great stuff! Large outdoor seating area, lots of picknick tables and other seatings, part sheltered. Indoor is industrial, small tables, seems mostly for dining. Food menu is limited but looked good. Beer menu consists mainly of high quality lagers and some sours. Their own Taverno pils by Axiom is highly quaffable, also great to see 5L party kegs of e.g. Knoblach, Weiherer, Schlenkerla, etc. Also great to see some anstich kegs of Knoblach etc. Like I said, high quality lagers/quaffable beers are their forté. Great service. 10-15 min walk from the ferry. Highly recommended.“

“I have always made the Arendsnest my first stop in Amsterdam since 2004. Usually a great experience. 17 Aug I stopped in the bar (3 people were in at the time) and sat at the bar and chatted with anyone that came in. I was enjoying my last beer, now 7 people were in the bar, the bar tender asked me to move to the end of the bar because where I sat crowded people. I moved, finished my beer and told the bar tender she could have waited five minutes for me to finish my beer. I then wrote to a private email to Peter van der Arend in hopes for an apology, explanation or he would speak to the bartender. I have heard nothing. After 17 years of visiting, I won't be making this my first stop and will go to the other bars that always welcome me to sit at the bar.“

“Nice place with outdoor tables on a busy street and side street. Very Amsterdam. Eclectic and varied tap list with that is definitely not run of the mill and worth trying. Bottle list was small (post COVID) but also some interesting and hard to get stuff. Bring friends and money as pretty much all 750 ml and expensive. Food menu looked good though didn't get a chance to try this time.“

“Good experience ordering from this online Cider shop. Diverse assortment of Ciders from around Europe and a small number from across the pond. Service was good in the sense that the package was sent and delivered rapidly. Free shipment within the country above 75 euros. I couldn't name a better source for Ciders at this point.“

“Once again a Hard Rock Cafe. Selection is really poor, just macros on tap. Food was quite good, smart staff. Football game on screen or quite place outside at the water. Would be a very nice place if they had any interesting beers ;-)“

“Wat wil je meer nog meer? Als op een zomerse avond, op het terras van het iconische blauwe theehuisje, in het hart van het Vondelpark een al net zo iconische IJwit biertje bestellen. Selectie van brouwerij IJ biertje is iets kleiner als in de brouwerij 't IJ zelf. Maar je krijgt hier wel rust van de natuur voor terug. Tenzij je per ongeluk op spitsuur gaat zitten.“

“Fridges full of cold beer and growlers from tap. This (small) place reminds me of my trips to the US. Very good selection. Beergeeky atmosphere with the staff talking beer and offering us a sample of a neat BFM beer they were enjoying. Will revisit when walking from Foeders to Brecht for example.“

“Colorful brewpub in an interesting historical building a convenient short walk from Muijderpoort station. Quiet on a tuesday afternoon, although there was the welcome ruckus of a bunch of guys brewing. Had two of their beers, one of which was an one-time brew. Service was friendly enough. I like what they made of this place, it's the location that is the big attraction to visit this place.“

“One of the best Shop with a lot of beer from different country and beer style, Rare Lambick, lots of Holand craft beer, ciders and other product. Oszalamiajacy wybor piw, przekroj stylow, z wielu krajow. Naprawde pod tym wzgledem jest OK. Prowadza oprocz sklepu Internetowego takrze w Amsterdamie sklep stacjonarny wiec podczas mojego zamowienia ogromnego ponad 19 bylo nie dostepnych, podmienialo sie na inne i takze to nie bylo dostepne, Dobra i mila korespondencja ulatwiala sprawe zawsze doszlismy do porozumienia. Ceny niestety drogie, Wysylka szybka, ale jednak potluczone byly 2 piwa, oczywiscie doslane zostaly w miare szybko, paczki byly dobrze zabezpieczone mimo to. Dziekuje, Best Regards and thanks for any beer. In future I'm order again.“

“Visited the Beer Temple the end of June 2020. Not all taps used due to the virus, as the case with most bars in town. Was disappointed the bottled beers were extremely pricey!!! After visiting the bar over many years, we will not be doing a repeat visit.“

“(Visited Feb 2020) Nice restaurant and beer bar centrally located in Amsterdam. It's in the cellar, with entrance in the alley between Rokin and Kalverstraat. Modern interior in light brown wood and metal. Up to 50 taps, half of them house beers from Dutch craft brewers and the other half guest beers from craft brewers from all over the world. Good food. Run by the same team as Foeders, so there's some decent beer knowledge. Quite slow on my visit (Wednesday eve). Location is quite central, but it's an area that's busy by day and not so much in the evenings. Hopefully they can change that. Well worth a visit.“

“It's a grocery store with very late opening hours. But, at least 1/3 of the store is filled with crafter from all around the world. Also some unusual stuff. The shelves are really high and stocked with amazing beer. Very friendly services, with a lot of knowledge. One of my to go places when i'm Amsterdam. Also shipping possibilities.“

“Visited this place multiple times. An always changing taplist, basically Dutch and Belgium brewers, sometimes a German one. Amazing selection in the fridges, mainly Lambic from Belgium and some beers from Kemker from Germany. Always a free glass of water with your beer and free peanuts. Love this place!“

“Cellar bar, hard to spot if you're looking for Rokin 84. The entrance is actually in the alley to the right of Rokin 84. Stylish and cozy bar with a focus on comfort food, beer and natural wines. Lots of benches and tables, this place is designed to make you sit and have a relaxed drink. Long low bar with lots of stools in the back of the room. 50 taps with 25 fixed taps, large range of Gulpener, some de la Senne, Walhalla. 25 rotating taps, great selection of lesser known or small high end craft breweries. Prices are steep, around €7-8 for the rotating taps and around €5 for fixed taps. Had a pastrami sandwich which was good but for €14 it's a little over-priced. That being said, it's certainly worth a visit, A-location, good beers, friendly knowledgeable service, just bring a thick wallet.“

“(Visited Aug 2019) Nice brewery taproom in the northern part of Amsterdam, around 100 meters from Oedipus on the way to/from the metro. Located in an industrial building, bar interior in brick, concrete and brown wood. Seating outside on the parking place as well. Ten (or so) taps with beers from the brewery. Some of them hard to find in other places. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Mainly inhabited by locals and beer geeks and not quite as crowded as Oedipus. Really nice taproom with a good selection of Walhalla beers. Added to my semiannual AMS beer crawl. Will be back.“

“Visited 01.01.20. Very friendly place four stops on the Metro from Central Station.Nice local atmpsphere, good service and an excellent selection of 30 craft beers and some more industrial ones on tap. Two fridges are filled with lambic bottles from Tilquin, 3 Fountainen, Oude Beersel and many more. It seems like all the peanut shells on the floor are a trademark of theirs.“

“I don't understand the high ratings for this place. Fairly uninteresting taplist, so you come here for the bottle selection, which is decent -- some standard lambics, nice stouts, and many more. It's a cozy, intimate place, so it gets high marks for that. Better go to the Amstelstraat location for a much better draught and bottle list.“

“Elegant feel to this place, spread over 2-3 floors - I really like the interior design. Just 4 house taps, which includes a seasonal - flights of all for €10.95, not a terrible deal. There is also some other junk on tap, plus a mostly uninteresting bottle selection. Beers were forgettable, other than the nice winter seasonal. Not a mandatory stop in town for beer quality but it’s a good spot to chill at.“

“Somewhat limited hours and a little out of the centre, but easily walkable. Fairly big, with lots of outside seating in the warmer months. 8-10 regulars on tap plus 4 seasonals. Set flights of 5 available for €10.50; otherwise, it’s 0.25 or 0.5L pours. Order at the counter, no table service. Beers were generally very sweet and not very well-done. Not one of my Dutch highlights.“

“Visited around 1pm on a Tuesday. There were only a few other occupied tables here. Despite this, service was brutally slow, but friendly enough when the lady eventually came around to me. Always took forever to get anything. 8 beers on tap, with everything available in 18cl pours — reasonably priced. Beer quality was decent, nothing special. Didn’t try the food, but the menu looked decent, with lots of veggie/vegan options. Wouldn’t recommend the trek out here unless you have a lot of time.“
