“Been wanting to come here for years! Unfortunately only had 45minutes. This is a place to spend all your money and many hours. Huge draft list and huge bottle list. Decor is fine enough. Bartender friendly. I was waiting outside when they opened for the day. Got smoked rockfish sandwich which was good. I need to come back.“

The Wharf Rat closed its doors for the last time on November 6, 2021. We will miss our pub and all of you, but hopefully we'll see you around the neighborhood from time to time. “

“Not your traditional neighbourhood brewery? If you are a craft beer lover, this is the place to go, plus a great place to bring your non-beer and foodie friends. A cool vibe inside and outdoor seating in the front. They offer cool merch and glassware. They have about 20 different beers on draft (some of them are local guest taps) with a variety of sours, stouts, and IPAs they constantly cycle through kegs, so every time you go in you get something new! Their food is amazing. Unique ingredients used in unique combinations! The food lives up to the hype. Otto say; It's always a joy in a place more when the staff enjoys their job and know about the beers they serve. 🙃“

“A great local Brewery serving up myriad of beer that tend to be average to good, especially high ABV beers! Their best beer IMO is their dessert Stout called Bulls-Eye. It's absolutely divine! Flights and pints available. A great ambiance and definitely more of a chill environment here. It has a family friendly crowd with a nice mix of young and old. A laidback vibe with super friendly staff who are awesome to chat with. Plus they 100% know their stuff about beer. You can really learn a lot from the folks here. Take a look at the amazing doors when you go in (that are kept open to bring in fresh air inside 😷). Inside the brewery is the main focal point and there is a merc shop in one corner. They have outdoor seating, too. They don't serve food here, but there are local food truck most evenings and great food next door at the Boilerplate. Just place your order and someone there will run it over to you. There’s also plenty of parking which is nice. This is a dog friendly Brewery. Otto say; If you're looking to get good pint and relax this is a good stop. 👊🏽“

“Located a little out of the way, but worth the trip into Dundalk! Great beer, friendly staff and a cool ambiance. A nice addition to the area. Nice open tap room with free pool, free pinball and table tennis plus a couple TVs. Occasional live music, plus food truck's. Also great outdoor seating and tons of room for social distancing. Dog friendly and easy going. The bar offers flights of any quantity, 10oz and 16oz pours, and growler fills. They have a half dozen taps pus can's. Otto says; a very inviting atmosphere, definitely worth checking out. 👍🏻“

“A nice cool place to kick back and enjoy a brewery and it’s atmosphere. It’s in a place that might be hard to find but it’s worth a visit, if you are in Pigtown or Federal Hill. Parking is across the street at a lot, so not to far to walk. What's not to like? Knowledgeable and friendly staff, a very cool interior with exposed duct work and various sized tables and old fashioned seats, large glass windows that overlook where they brew the beer. There is also extra seating in an upstairs area. Oh! the poster artwork for each beer is so collectable. I am not certain if they sell these posters or not but they should, they are classics. Ten taps of ever changing quality well brewed beers. Limited food choices, but hey its all about the beer. Otto say; Delicious beer and laid back atmosphere. I definitely recommend.“

“This brewery is one of the absolute best! An upscale chic vibe, with a great atmosphere but it still maintains the brewery feel. Suspended is everything that a brewery should aspire to be. It is beautiful, integrated into the community (the people who helped rehab it, did the art work etc. all are from the neighbourhood). There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Plus delicious but reasonably priced beer, ever rotating taps, and the owners are the friendliest and most knowledgeable people you'll ever meet. Stop by for a beer and spend some time here, learn about their history, walk around the brewery, and I promise it'll be worth it, you will not be disappointed. The beer is good and the service great. But the hours are a bit restricted to Friday, and Saturday.“

“A fantastic local brewery. Great variety of beers, you can find something for anyone. Love that there are games and different things to do that can keep adults and children occupied. Easy parking within the neighbourhood. Good availability of indoor and outdoor seating. There is no food served outside of a few bar snacks, but they have food trucks available most days and will always allow you to bring your own food. Dog friendly. Great bartenders and staff and overall one the coolest Baltimore breweries. For those not looking for beer they do carry selections of cold brew coffee and kombucha.“

“Such an incredibly unique and fun establishment to hang out. Inside a 160+ year old church that has been beautifully transformed into a brewery and makes for great conversation starters. Plenty of beer to try with 8 tap's as well as additional cans or bottles, they do flights of four. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. A must do visit for any beer geek.“

“This place is an amazing looking place. Old church that is remarkably well upkept -- looks like people worshiped there this morning. Only replaced the organ with some fermenters. I can imagine this will be a hit for wedding bookings. Service is at the bar only, though bartenders were friendly. Just a handful of beers on tap, and beers just ok. Maybe they'll get better as they settle in.“

“The Fells Point location is about 100 yards from the venerable Max's (which is really the reason you are here). It is a small venue that reeks of sports bar - which seems like many Baltimore pubs and bars. There is a large wooden bar and a scattering of high-tops and tables. Actually, it is an attractive place with a heavy brick and wood décor going for it. Then, there is the beer: 40 taps of a great diversity of styles, many of which are regional crafts. Of course, the major menu is burger. The burgers here come in a wild array and are magnificent. Burgers. Beer. Baltimore. What more do you need? “

“Fun space with games, outdoor seating in good weather, eclectic atmosphere. Food available, changes from night to night (usually from food trucks or the adjoining B'more Kitchen). “Good selection of beers on tap: 36 or so on tap, including a couple of barrel-aged brews, and about 36 bottles and cans. 5 oz pours available on most at reasonable prices. They were out of fish & chips, which both my companion and I ordered, but I ended up with a Cuban sandwich, which was huge but a bit dry. Worth a stop.“

“Large selection of beer, but not a ton of singles. About 1 cooler's worth vs about 15 additional for 6- and 12-packs. Left with 15 singles for a total of $63.22. No service whatsoever except to get rung up. Worth a stop - drop them off in your trunk, and then walk over to Five and Dime.“

“First off, there is no real signage. A faded placard with a hand scrawled name was about it. Inside its an old house style, bar area up front with several dining rooms in back. There is a basement as well that I did not check out. Not busy on a Sunday night. I did not ask about flights, which was apparently a mistake based on prior review. Oh well. They do have half pours, but during happy hour there is no savings there. I tried a couple of things that were pretty solid and ordered the garlic fries, which were good but a bit soggy. Service was quite good. I would go back. Prices were quite reasonable.“

“Not too busy late on a Sunday evening. Lots of outdoor seating at this place in a touristy area right across from the Royal Farms arena. I am guessing its a zoo during events. This is the taproom for Oliver Brewing, so about 3/4 of the plentiful taps are dedicated to Oliver beers, with a decent number of guest taps to round things out. Flights of four are available; I did not ask if that was limited to their beers or not. Oliver appears to have a substantial English bias, with several English styles and a few cask pours. Service was solid and attentive. Beer was good, if not great. Did not try the food. Good place to stop if you are already downtown. $13 for the flight is high, but considering the area it is understandable.“

“Fine spot in the airport, Terminal B pre-security. Sort of out in the open. Selection is better than you'd expect, six DuClaw taps with some decently limited stuff like Sour Me Unicorn Farts (what?!?). Food is OK. They have crab at least. Service was pretty good when I went.“

“I was worried about parking, but I found free street parking on a crazily narrow street like a half block away, so I win. A block off the waterfront, as noted previously. Place was pretty empty mid-afternoon on a Thursday, so I win again. Taplist is certainly extensive. There were no whales on it, but a lot of solid beers to select from, with a clear focus on regional product. As stated previously, everything is available as 5 oz pours, which is a very nice feature that I wish more places would adopt. The overall ambiance is a bit divey, in a beer geek sort of way. I was planning to avoid the food after some of the reviews, but I ended up with a couple of street tacos, and they pretty much lifted. Probably twice as much carnitas as I would get at a place in Cali, and it was xolid. In any case, this is not necessarily a place to spear a whale, but it is a great place to tick a few and spend some quality beer time. Finally, I just gotta say, you can of course review how you like, but giving a dive beer bar an 8 for not allowing children is a dick move in my book. I have two kids myself, and we eat lunch at brewpubs when on travel, but I would never dream of taking them here, even if they were allowed. Use some common sense.“

“Had a lunch and a few drinks while on a college tour for my daughter. They had 60 beers on tap and around 100 bottles, and good food. It's quite a large space near a college, in a sports bar format with large screens, etc. Good local choices and a nice selection of more widely distributed craft beer available. Recommended.“

“Made a point of visiting this shop after reading the comments, and did not regret it. Quite a large liquor store with all kinds of everything. At least 4 aisles of beer, many singles, and a row of uprights coolers full of mostly six and four packs. Not all were available as singles, but still managed to grab about 30 beers. Definitely to be visited, if in Baltimore.“

“You know what its like when a brewery gets too big, well this is it. All the charm is gone despite having the same aesthetic. Giant space, in a rehabed old Sear warehouse. The Collective has wall climbing, a distiller, ice cream and everything a millennial ever wants. Giant parking lot. The Union Brewing part of the Collective is the biggest of all the paces. Has a stage for bands. Big open space. A kitchen that makes a few things (really few). There is a ehabed old camper inside. A large patio outside. Still hot as hell with no protection in the summer (at least they kept the worst part of the original brewery) with food trucks in the summer. Tap list is decent sized and a "cellar" list. They sell cans to go as well as crowlers. But it is soulless, empty, and missing individuality. Apparently kids are now a hassle for the, , none allowed after 6pm. It is worth a stop but not a place I feel warm and comfortable. I find their beer to be rather average for modern day takes on styles.“

“In an area called Brewer’s Hill (I don’t really understand why), there is street parking out front. Not well signed, but it’s a fairly intimate place inside. About 20 Stillwater and Stillwater collage on tap, plus a few guest taps. You can order anything in half-pours, even the beers that come in 6 oz pours by default. No free samples. The prices are frankly absurd for some beers - why is a non-BA imperial stout demanding $9 for a 6 oz pour? Service is friendly. Worth a stop.“

“Beautiful spot, with many different rooms of seating. Feels old but elegant, with a beautiful chandelier in the main room where the bar is. 6 beers on tap available in a flight for $9, a good deal. Beer styles skew towards the Belgian. Some beers were decent, others not so much. Very friendly service. They have a nice looking food menu too with tons of vegetarians options. Worth a look.“

“Certainly deserving of its reputation - one of the bars in all of the US. The place is huge and centrally located right at the Harbour, so on a weekend night, it’s pretty crazy in there. Extensive draught selection that was dominated by hoppy beers when I visited, since they had just had some hoppy fest. Every beer is available in a 5 oz pour, priced individually, so it is a phenomenal opportunity for sampling tons of beers. You could spend hours in here racking up the ticks and enjoy most of them, given the fantastic selection. They have a very good bottle selection too, with even a dozen or so that are heavily discounted - some gems in there. Service can be a bit douchey and abrupt, but given the busyness, I can forgive it - they try their best. Atmosphere is terrible though - it’s a sports bar, and very loud, with terrible tunes and a rather obnoxious clientele. If you only visit one place in Baltimore, this is it.“

“A great spot for both sampling and bottle shopping. Head to the back and they have a tasting bar where you can order any of their ~20 beers on tap in 5 oz pours, all the same price. “Massive place with a huge warehouse for an interior and a big outside patio to chill at, with a food truck parked outside when we visited. 7 more standard beers on tap, plus 4 more “cellar” beers on tap. No flights, but 7 oz pours available of the standard ones for $2.5-3. Only 12 oz pours of the cellar beers. Beers were okay, with nothing particular standing out except for the BA beer we had. Decent service, if disinterested. Solid stop.“

“This place is a block from the inner harbor, if that interests you. Parking at this place sucks, took about twenty minutes of driving around and found a spot then I paid and the machine did not spit out the paper, but at 8pm (on some nights) the spot was free. The place is a worn down dive bar on the corner. This place has a really long bar, but even on a Wednesday night this place was busy (sometimes not that busy on off nights, but every time I have been here people are at the bar), but I was able to get one seat quickly, but as soon as I left a girl swooped in to take the seat. The tap selection was a large selection of some different beer and have tried a couple at times (sometimes nothing I have been looking to try). The bottle selection was also large and I found a gem to consume (and other times did not find anything I wanted to try). Pricing seems to have gone up over the years. Online draft beer menu is mostly up to date. Service has always been pretty good. I would come back, but I suspect this place would get crazy busy on Friday and Saturday nights.“

“Parking is challenging, even on a Sunday evening. Next block toward the inner harbor of Baltimore from Max’s. Wooden picnic tables out front, bar inside on the right, tables in front of the bar and in a smaller room past the first one. Lots of big screen TVs, drag racing was on, so my mother-in-law was entertained. Service was good, quite prompt, and goidcsuggestions were made. Pretty good selection of locals and Belgians on tap. Bottle selection was pretty limited. I had a camel burger and it was very good. Pricing was going rate. I hope to come back.“

Cool open atmosphere with medium size straight bar in the middle of one side. Bartender was our waiter, but service was good, even know they were busy. Tap beer selection was nice locals. “Swung by after landing at BWI. Industrial area. This is the production brewery, so the overall space is large. Very little parking in the taproom area. There is a lot of parking back in further, but you will end up walking a ways to get back to the public space. There is an outdoor area with heaters, as well as an inside area with small tables and a bar. No food, but they do have food trucks. Service decent, perhaps a bit slow. They had about 8 of their beers on tap, including a BBA stout. A single cask variant available. Otherwise it seemed like mostly the regular lineup; lots of Cannons. Flights of four available, forgot the price. I have generally been happy with the few previous Heavy Seas beers I have had, and thus was fairly surprised when the whole sample tray consisted of mediocre beer. The best was the English Strong Ale. The hoppy stuff was not great at all.

Its worth noting that they also had a cooler with bombers and six packs of things to go, including several that were not on tap. Merchandise available, and there was a doorway with a "tours start here" sign that I did not investigate.

Allright space, but given the beer quality, I can't see myself going back.“

“Located on Brewers hill or at least there’s a large ass neon sign that says brewers hill. I was able to Find street parking across the street which was nice. As others have noted there’s not a large sign for the place. It’s not a large place but it feels cozy and inviting. It’s the ultimate irony, a neighborhood place in place where no one seems to live. They had 20 Stillwater’s on draft along with some of their collabs brewed at other places. They sold most things in half pours so I got to try a lot of stuff which was still quite good stuff. I can’t believe it took me so long to get here but it was worth the wait.“

“Big open space, eclectic and interesting with a large main area, lots of standing and sitting spaces. Interesting brewery in that they have 22 things on tap, all of which were brewed there, but only two of their “own” beers. Or maybe 7 or 8 depending on how you view it. It’s a contract house that had a total of 11 brands on, everything had been brewed there. Also neat to find that one of the contract or sublet brands is brewing half barrel batches there, while others are doing much bigger scale. Prices are pretty good with bigger pours at 5 (ounces vary) and 5oz smaller pours at 2-3, with the majority (21/22) at $2. Cool space and quite interesting. Worth a visit. “

“In the door around five on a Friday in the middle of August 2016. Open for an hour and a fairly full crowd already. Most of the bar spaces taken, but plenty of other room elsewhere including an extra room with some couches and a bigger table with another 10-15 bar stools. Cool space with a lot of wood on the walls and a spattering of Americana and other eclectic stuff.Prices are very good with pint prices around $5-6, growler fills (if I read the menu right) start at $10 and don’t go up much more for the regular sorts of stuff, just the Triple at $24, everything else was $10-12 (if available for fills). Flights of 4 (there were 8 on tap, with one being a local mead as a guest tap) were 9, so very friendly in terms of getting people to try all of their beers. Fun place, worth a visit. “
