“After failing to find this place the previous evening it was worth the repeat attempt. Don't be fooled by the addreas. It is in the Mileticova open air market. Just look for the chimney, it's next door. Post indistrial bar on two levels with old black and white photos depicting ordinary peoples' lives and plain wooden furniture. The two beers I had were on very good form“

“Quaint pub in a residential area surrounded by apartment blocks a 20 minute bus ride from thecity y cebtre. The bar is furnished with bric a brac and (I assume) an imitation menu chalked to the wall. Six craft beers on and reasonably priced. Oddly, baps are served from a classic and not missed plastic dome!“

17's Bar (Bar)
HVIEZDOSLAVOVO NAM 17
“Small, darkish place with a small patio next to one of the old town's pedestrian streets. We popped in by chance, seeing Matuska and Garaz on tap. Definitely not the best selection in Bratislava but good enough for a solid Matuska beer to start the day.“

Urban Bistro (Restaurant)
MICHALSKA 5
“Smaller outlet of the Urban House venue. Perfect spot for breakfast, right at one of the busiest streets of the pedestrian zone. Their breakfasts are amazing. It's not a place that focuses on beer, but their four taps are very well equipped with beers from Wywar, Hellstork et al. Because of their food and coffee it's a good place to take your non-beery friends with you while still having a couple pints of really good stuff.“

“Quite eccentric to transform a former public toilet into a craft beer bar but I'm buying it. Expect a dark myriad of smallish rooms and uneven brick walls with heaps of random junk nailed to them. This place could be the perfect spot to film a "den of thieves"-style venue for a movie depicting the mid-XIXth century. I liked its originality. 12 taps with a decent selection, fair prices. This place is one of a kind.“

“Besides the Bratislava Bermuda Triangle the "double bar" comprised of Zil Verne and Be Unorthodox (their entrances face each other in a hallway right next to a busy pedestrian street) seems to be the perfect partying spot in the city center during warm Summer nights. The bar is small and has an enticingly colourful backdrop. 9 taps, loaded with obviously Unorthodox stuff but also Hellstork or Wildstork. Great place.“

Sky Bar (Restaurant)
HVIEZDOSLAVOVO NAMESTIE 7
“Posh fine dining place that is relevant, since they carry some Hellstork bottles to serve with their gourmet version of Thai food. The view on the old town is amazing, especially from their terrace. Professional service, expensive as expected but worth the experience. Great place for a date when you want to show off but don't want to skip on the beer.“

“White stone arches and fin-de-siecle graphics dominate the interior of this small-ish pub at the edge of the old town. The selection is neat and their own beer brand is worth checking out, especially the phenomenal black IPA. On weekends it tends to get crowded and it really shines during Summer evenings, as it is located in a small passage with Be Unorthodox opposite and tables outside in between. That makes for a great craft beer hotspot on warm evenings.“

“Well, what a marvelous place! A crossover of different types of venue is always at danger of collapsing under its own weight. Urban House neatly manages to incorporate everything under one roof without seeming overbearing. So you have a: hipsteresque caffeteria with specialty coffees and delicious pastries, a pizzeria cum restaurant (excellent pizzas and superb breakfasts), a co-working space with people working on their laptops, a lounge place with comfy leather sofas, and last but not least a craft beer place with a selection limited to 3-4 Slovak offerings, 1-2 imports and additionally 1-2 cocktails from tap. While this is not a craft beer dominated place, it has such a good, relaxed vibe and the limited beer selection is so well thought over that it has become one of my favourite pubs of all time. Really looking forward to coming back.“

“Visited in 2017. Out of all brewpubs in the city, this one fits the definition of a beer hall most aptly, as it is basically a long hall with a high ceiling, white stone pillars and heavy wooden benches. The food is a bit pricey but really great (one of the few places you can get a hermelin that's actually been made to ripen and not just a fresh camembert drenched in oil), the service ok. Beer-wise I thought their tmavy was rather disappointing but their svetly is one of the best pilsners around. Really nice place for a family dinner as well as the start of an evening bash.“

“Visited in 2017. I don't understand its high ratings, to be frank. Just a small, agreeable bar with a handful local craft beers and To Ol on tap and admittedly a nice bottle selection. I was expecting some rad death metal blaring from the speakers and instead I was met with cheesy true metal boredom. Service was matter of fact. Stayed for one beer and moved on - didn't feel this place has any atmosphere at all. It makes sense as a bottle shop but that's all there's to it. There are scores of more interesting places in Bratislava in my opinion.“

“Upscale place that seems to be the hotel restaurant for the four star Loft Hotel. Really nice ambiance, as by "upscale" you shouldn't understand off-putting. It just shows how much money was invested here. Reminded me of some northern Italian brewpubs. Modern and elegant at once. You should be wary of their reservation system - one time we managed to get a table because we went there before 18 o'clock, while on a different day all the tables were booked already. You might want to inquire beforehand. A trip here is definitely worth it, not only for the ambiance, but more so for the beers - the Czech classics were very good, while the foreign extra stout was outstanding.“

72 /100 TYRŠOVO NÁBREŽIE
“Visited in Winter 2017 and in Summer 2018. Fabulous boat brewery, with quite a cozy lower deck and a sun-flooded (in Summer obviously) upper deck. We didn't manage to catch a party but the upper deck is of that videoclip party type, which makes your imagination go vivid. Great view on the old town and the castle, good service. Didn't have the food and the beers were mediocre but hey, the beers are just an excuse to venture to this side of the Danube. Great place.“

58 /100 NÁMESTIE SNP, 30
“Visited in 2017. If you walk downstairs, you will end up in something that makes the impression of the monastery's former mess hall. Stone-laden decor, far from intimate, didn't like it. The ground level part is a different story. Lots of dark wood, stained glass, not much space but cozy and really well made. The burger was also well made but tiny, so the food is not a bargain here. They had three beers on tap, ranging from undrinkable to very good, so if you're in a hurry, just go for their tmave and move on.“

“I would like to give higher score, but I can't. Not good beers except S, mostly infected, dirty enviroment. There are in walking distance better pubs with craft beer.“

“Interesting brewpub way outside of the city center. The beers were above average but nothing mind blowing, not so sure this was really worth the trouble but worth a visit if you got nothing better to do.“
