“Came here on 20.7.2021. Have been to a few bars of this chain before (best one was in Shanghai). Nothing overwhelming. Beer selection is just ok. Had a Chimay Burger which was mediocre at the best. Service not very engaged. This place can be missed. “

“Old school brewpub vibe. Beers generally decent, flights available (now pick your own). Ate brunch, was good. Place was pretty busy and staff seemed pretty stressed. Not a must visit, but definitely enjoyable.“

“Visited on a weekday evening. Large pub with tables outside, longish bar, a lot of TV screens. Nice food menu, around 15 beers on tap, with a few local alternatives, and more than 20 bottles/cans. Nice, nothing to change your way for.“

“Found by chance while shopping at the Whole Foods next door. Quite a large selection of cans and bottles from Massachusetts, as well as other states, and they let you break the six-packs. Very satisfied.“

“Visited on a Tuesday night in August, 2017. Wasn't horribly impressed - they had good IPAs but otherwise the beer, while fresh, just didn't sing to me all that much. Perfectly acceptable and possible I just went while they didn't have interesting stuff in the rotation. Good food though.“

“The afternoon that I visited this place it was really busy. Found a spot at the bar and tried some of their beers. I had the taster of the standard 4 beers they provide and when the bar tender realized that I wanted to try more (I bought two more beers in normal size just to try them) he offered me more. The hoppy ones that I tried were so and so to OK but the two sour ones (one of their own and a collab with Jester King) were great! I would like to visit the place again at a time that it isnt crowded.“

“Better beers than what I expected. Flights available. Very nice ambiance.. sitting at the bar and watching the brewing equipment through a glass behind the bar was very nice! Good prices, good service.“

“Visited on a Saturday night for dinner after visiting Night Shift. Nice ambiance, dark, metal music. 7 house beers on tap. You can have a taster with 5 of them (they choose which ones) for $14. 30+ more taps with mostly hoppy beers (the half of the 40 taps). Prices were average for the area. The burger was nice. Service was good.“

Meadhall (Bar)
4 CAMBRIDGE CENTER
“A solid bar in downtown Cambridge. The tap list is quite extensive, with solid diverse offerings. Also really cool that nearly all beers are served in appropriate logo'ed glassware. They do offer a fairly large mead selection, from about 3-4 local meaderies. Food is above average pub fare. Yes, it is expensive, but I thought it was a good stop.“

“I wish this place were as good as it could be. Located in downtown Cambridge, so parking can be difficult. Ridiculous number of taps, plus maybe a dozen or so bottles of meads that they sell. No flights, and the mead pours are themselves more than you might want (4-6 oz) for absolutely outrageous prices ($10-14). I honestly wouldn't recommend the place. Despite the beer list, it is a terrible spot for tasting many beers and the prices are insultingly high.“

“In central Cambridge right on Kendall Square, this is a fun place. Reasonably taplist of their own beers, with only pre-set flights available. Service is a bit cold, but prompt. Beer quality was decent. Not all it’s cracked up to be in my opinion but worth a visit.“

“Really nice place in the heart of Cambridge that doubles as a coffee shop. 13 beers on tap when I visited. Pre-set flights available, either the regular beers (4 for $9.50) or the hoppy beers (4 for $11.50). Otherwise, half pours (6 or 8 oz) are available for $4-4.50. Friendly service. Beer quality is quite excellent. Great place to chill at. Highly recommended visit.“

“Very big place but little bit of too posh for me. Beer list was amazing when I visited but everything special was very expensive. Beer list had metric/imperial conversion chart for us stupid European!... which was great. One of the most expensive places I have seen.“

“Very dark place. Pretty good tap list with four of their own beers. 3 cask pumps also, not sure are they really used. Hobo burger was OK. And again, too dark for me but I understand some points why this place is so highly rated. Don't expect cheap prices.“

“Visited on 5th October 2017. A really large and busy brewpub towards the centre of Cambridge. It's got 2 vast rooms which are airy and light plus a sizeable patio. It was a nice evening so relaxed outside. A solid list of beers with plenty of different and a couple of set flights made choices hard. Didn't bother with a flight and just had a couple of beers. Quality was ok. Prices and service were solid enough. It's an easy 10 or more rates and a nice enough venue.“

“Visited on 5th October 2017. Really smart looking brewpub in Cambridge suburbia. The feel to the place is really nice with a smart decor and just a nice vibe. It was busy but we managed to get settled. Had a couple of tasting flights here which were decent vue. The beer was good with some interesting styles and a couple of additions to the database. Prices were good. Service friendly. I'd recommend a stop here. One of the nicest venues in Boston for me.“

“Visited on 5th October 2017. Got a cab out here and it's a fair ride from the city centre. In a nice neighbourhood sits this place. It's well described as a dive bar lookalike and inside it's smarter and bigger than expected. The place was busy and we sat at a table. A decent beer list with several Lord Hobo beers plus a good mix from across the US. Didn't really examine the bottle menu. Service was good. Prices good. Music a little loud and mostly not to my taste. With a couple of decent brewpubs nearby it's worth the trek out here.“

“I liked it a lot last time I was here, but this time it's not hitting. The beers were all duds, which was the big issue. Malts were a mess, and so was the yeast, like almost unprofessional in that sense. Service was ok, maybe a bit sluggish, but really the downturn in the beer since my last visit (2009) is the big story.“

“Located somewhere in Cambridge next to a BBQ place. It seems like it's located in the block where Cambridge turns from residential to corporate. Lots of Brick and beams and wood planking which makes it feel like a marketers idea of a brewpub. Of course it's loud and very difficult to hear conversation which makes it the perfect setting for the under 24 crowd. They had 13 on tap but you were only allowed to select from 2 pre-made flights. The food was solid but the fries were weirdly small like I was being served the grandkids of another order of fries. I'm afraid this one's only for the completists.“

“Located in a residential neighborhood, good luck trying to find parking. Outside was Dive Bar but inside was more gastro pub. They had a number of regional and national craft taps including 5 of their own. Prices were typical for Cambridge which is to say hella expensive. It's a solid enough neighborhood place but I'm not sure it's a destination place.“

“Medium Sized brewpub, providing about 8 choices of beer ( 2 flights of 4 beers each. Set list of beers, but you can replace 1 to your choice ) Service was friendly, even though not very beer-forward. Prices were very good, beers were OK. Best place in the neighborhoud.“

“Nice spot, good location in Cambridge. Lots of good brewskis, about 8 on tap when I was there. Also a nice coffee bar in the same area, really good hopped cold brew. Chill spot, also have wi-fi if you want to get some work done while you tick.“

“Smaller taproom, some stand up tables, traditional tables and a 6 person bar area. Serves growlers, cans, and on tap. Lots of IPA, sours, then some others available. Very modern and clean decor, fairly trendy, young professional crowd, also functions as a coffee house in the morning, looked like a taco bar was available. Enjoyed all of the beer, was surprised by the quality, knowledgeable and friendly staff, fun place to visit.“

“Located about an hour walk from downtown Boston. i saw the bar had a good reputation (before the last rating, that was ) so decided to take the walk. it is, after all, the highest rated bar in the wide area. The place itself is big, with a bar in the middle of the room. Music was extremely loud, and not very suitable for a beer-tasting enviroment. Oh well. The staff was extemely rude, which was totally unacceptable. They asked me for ID, which I provided, but they refused to serve me since it wasn’t a US-ID. Not sure if thats extreme nationalism, or racism, or whatever I should call this in a term that is more balanced than ’idiotic behavior’ . Not only that, but they were very unfriendly as well, so it seems. The menu had some decent beers, but nothign exceptionnal, appart from perhaps the sky-high prices ( a boskeun 33 cl bottle will set you back a whopping 16 dollars + tips , not even sure if tax is included ) . but anyway, like I said, I wasn’t even good enough for them to serve me. Even when I asked for a non-alcohol Drink. Yeah, this is right there in the top 5 worst beer experiences ever. i took the long walk back, in the rain, haven’t been permitted to drink anything on one out of 2 nights I had in boston. thnx a lot. this is a great way to only limit yourself to your regular customers, which is a terrible buisness plan and a pathetic excuse for a bar. Clearly, this hasn’t got much to do with the passion we all feel. As a US citizen, i guess you’ll have a better experience, but regarding the mediocer, overpriced menu, I think there are far better options, like lamplight around the corner, or gingerman in downtown Boston, who at least showed some decency while working. Assholes.“

“Nice little beer bar. The ’biance is great, a very cozy pubbish feel. Lots of bar and table seating. I came here on a business trip creepily sitting off in the corner by myself ticking beers on my phone, and felt reasonably welcome. The bartenders were helpful even though I was giving that "I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo. What the hell am I doing here? I don’t belong here" kind of vibe. Food is pretty good, had the burger and was happy with it. Value is average for the area. Would tick here again.“

“Visited on my first day in Boston bizarrely after alighting in Kendall Square yet missing CBC. A large modern space in biotech country. Reggae and metallic modernism. But a formidable tap list. My waitress was frankly cute and the meatloaf while modestly portioned by US standards was very tasty. As others note it is not the cheapest and typically you get a 14oz glass (albeit specific for each brewery). Foolishly perhaps I decided to fill out my New England portfolio rather than extend my limited style palate. Imperial stout fans are well served.“

“Large, airy space plus outdoor sitting. Two set flights available. Service was better when the bar sitting was mostly empty, once it filled up it was hard to get bartender’s attention. The beers are competent if unexceptional. Food was average. Flights are unlabeled, based on the menu, but the menu was taken away without asking in the middle of the tasting....“

“This is a fascinating, late night Cambridge beer bar with a "first come first serve" seating and fitting arrangement at their bar and parking lot. Unbelievably dim. I felt like everything was being illuminated by candlelight while waking through a scary dungeonous cave. The tap list really has been incredible. I don’t like their house beers, but their food and their beer selection are solid.“

“Visited on a friday afternoon. Sat outside. The weather was perfect for it. I had a flight and a pint. There are two flight options. A brewers choice, and a standard flight. Both are set for you. That was a bit of a let down, because there were a few I didn’t get to try that I wanted to try. Prices were at least decent. I would come back again.“

“Visited on a friday afternoon. Sort of off the beaten path and by itself as far as beer places go. Inside is charming and old timy. Lots of wood fixtures. Fancy bar area. Good draft land bottle list. The only way to do a flight is with their own 4 beers, which are good, but are all pale ales. Half pours are available for everything else, though. Bottle prices are a bit ridiculous. If you stick to half pours, it isnt bad, though. I would happily come back here.“

“I go here quite often, as while they don’t get every Grimm, Kent Falls and Mystic beer, they usually get most of them (whereas a lot of bars only get Grimm, or only get Kent Falls). They pretty reliably get everything Mystic puts out. They are pretty infrequent about updating their draught list, sometimes going almost a month. As far as the place itself, it’s a really nice bar, with a patio out back and awesome bartenders. Food is solid, as well. Draught list is sometimes top 3 in Boston and sometimes not even worth going for, which is a bit frustrating, but I assume they will continue to improve on consistency. Decent prices on everything and a great ambiance.“

“It’s a great big space very close to the Cambridge Marriott and a parking garage. Lots of taps but nothing to exotic. Kind of a beer geek greatest hits taplist but not a lot new. “Visited in Februari 2016. Last stop of the evening, we wanted a beer each and some mead. Huge selection of beer but at first we didn’t even see any mead.
