“Patty and I stopped in after having lunch nearby. Nice big new looking place. Big crowd for Friday lunch. Only one bar maid. Waited a bit and got a glass of 1 third foam for my IPA. Hard to get good service when there are not many people out there willing to take these jobs. They had about 12 of their beers on tap.“

“The place is pretty small and packed. If you do not mind that scene then this place is really cool. The food was okay, nothing to write home about, unless you are just writing home to say it was okay...I enjoyed Four Peaks so much more that I feel didn't get to really experience this place, while I was in town.“

“Nice and cosy brewpub in the heart of Chandler. It's kid friendly place and they serve tasty food. The food and the beers are very affordable. They also serve flights of 7. The only minus is the beers. The beers are quite mediocre. And that is bit of a problem with the brewpub.“

“Chandler is about 30 minutes from downtown PHX, so seeing the ratings, I figured I had to come, but did not leave particularly impressed. Good Whole Foods selection, not sure it’s better than other Whole Foods I’ve been in and definitely not sure I’d make a big detour to visit that one versus other stores in the PHX area to seek bottles.“

“Typical Whole Foods, if you’ve been in one. Solid amount of locals and lots and lots of beer from places other than AZ. This place is rated kind of highly in my opinion, but had to check it out as I was in the area.“

“Big sports bar theme as so many here seem to be. 8 regular beers on tap, plus a seasonal. Available in flights of 7 for $8, or by the sampler for $1.50, a great deal. Good service and the hummus plate was good (delicious beer bread). Recommended stop when in Chandler and worth it if you’re at Perch, as it’s 3 mins away.“

“Unique place just a few minutes away from SanTan. The place has a bird sanctuary of some sort as you walk in, which gives the place a tropical zoo type of smell - odd. Nicely set-up and fairly small interior. Tons of beers on tap, including many house and guest taps. Flights of 5 are available but are charged by the individual beer, which can get expensive: between $2-4 for a 5 oz; and for the stronger styles, at $4 per 5 oz pour, that is highway robbery for a house beer. Anyway, the beer itself is very good quality, amongst the best in Greater Phoenix. Service was very friendly and quick. Worth a stop when in town, and not too far from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport if you’re flying in / out from there.“

“Good selection for the Greater Phoenix area. Reasonable selection of bottles, though almost nothing from AZ, so don’t expect that. I don’t get how this is the top rated place in the area; Sun Devil is superior - go there instead.“

“Big place in the Chandler golf complex. Pretty packed inside, no one on the small patio on a beautiful evening, not sure why. Sat at the bar and got very attentive service, with multiple servers passing by to drop off random samples every once in a while. Beers were solid, food was good. Definitely worth a look.“

“This is basically a giant garden with birds that also happens to serve beer and food. Large outdoor bar. Good service. Decent beers. Very tasty food in large portions. Worthwhile stop.“

“As others have said, this place is very unique. There are birds in cages everywhere. The patio is full of plants creating a very tropical vibe. The rooftop deck is really cool, with a much more modern and traditional brewpub vibe. Almost like two different places. While we are on the subject, there are plans to expand - with a Chicago theme - which further confuses the bird theme. Anyway, the food was really good, service ok and the beers were somewhat hit or miss, but generally above average. Good guest taps as well. Pretty solid.“

“Made a very quick stop here after picking up a brand new puppy. They let us have her out on the patio, which is surrounded by a very big and noisy bird cage. The staff was friendly and the couple beers we tried were quite nice. Then it started pouring, and we couldn’t go inside the open-air bar area with the pup, so we huddled under a tiny umbrella to finish our beers. The birds aren’t exactly a draw for me, but otherwise I’d give them a general thumbs up. Brewery #719.“

“Lunch stop on my last day in down. Kind of in "downtown" chandler, which makes parking a bit of fun, but I did find a spot nearby with a bit of patience. Kinda standard brewpub feel inside Plenty of room at lunchtime on a Monday. They have a standard seven beer flight, but will pour tasters of their 7ish specials on demand as well. I had a salad for lunch and it was solid. Staff was friendly. I got to rub Homers’s nose in the fact that I had Mr. Pineapple, which counts for like 50 evil karma points. Beers were nothing special, which was really the only negative, but when it is in fact the beers that you are coming for, that is a problem.“

“Ok, when the highest rated bottle shop in an area is a Whole Foods, it is worth checking out. I will say that this is a super nice Whole Foods. Clean, well layed out, lots and lots of cool shit inside. They had about 4 Superstition meads in the wine section, which is nice. Beer selection was about standard for a whole foods in my experience. Nothing Earth shattering, but a good selection of bombers, mostly refrigerated. It did not appear that multi-packs were breakable. So far, about par for the course for a WF. Now the bar. That is a nice touch. We just got our first in Silicon Valley, and it is a much toned down affair to the 32 tap behemoth that presented itself. Nothing outlandish on tap, but a solid list. I can’t see myself coming to whole foods to drink, but a beer while shopping seems like a perfectly fine idea. Is this place a 95? No. Is it solid? Yes.“

“One of the few good craft beer place in the south east part of the valley. Their beer if popular through out Arizona and Southern California and with good reason. Staff is so friendly and patient and is helpful with beer selection. Only have been there weekdays and never to crowded ( thanks to large amount of seating). If you are in downtown chandler you have to make a stop at San Tan!“

“Nice outdoor/indoor bar that stays cool during the hot weather. Also has patio seating. The service was nice and quick each time I have visited. Decent amount of their own beers on draft, including a few that they don’t bottle or can. You can get growler fills and crowler fills here. Pretty good pub food, fair prices. Most of the beers are very solid here.“

“A really unique place since they have bird cages outside with many kinds of birds. They also have a rooftop bar. Plenty of shaded tables downstairs and at the main bar. The service was very quick and friendly. A nice amount of their own tasty beers on tap and good guest beers at very good prices, even better during happy hour. You can get a 5oz pour or a full pour of every beer. Very nice place to stop at in Chandler.“

“I don’t really know how to rate the ambiance, since it is a grocery store, but it is impressive to have a bar with such a good selection of beer on tap. The fact that it is in a grocery store makes it pretty cool. Most in Ohio have 4-6 taps, but nothing like this. Lots of California and Arizona beer, plus Amager, Dieu Du Ciel and Belgians occasionally on tap. A little more expensive than bars, but nothing extreme. The bottle selection in the grocery store part is very good too.“

“Very nice selection for a grocery store. And they had a bar with like 30 beers on tap! You don’t see that in many states. I ended up doing most of my beer shopping at Total Wine because of the incredible amount of singles available I hadn’t tried. Definitely worth a stop here too though!“

“Brewpub in downtown Chandler. I only had two beers here, but had 6 of their beers during my trip. The Moon Juice wheat IPA was really good. Nice ambiance, decent service and the food we got was good. Worth checking out, really close to the Perch as well.“

“Very clean, well kept, fancy pants grocery store. All beer located in 1 line of refrigeration shelving. Not a big selection but well picked. Help was offered right away but didn’t bother me as I looked. Left with 2 nice bottles. Would stop back again.“

“The place has potential, nice rooftop patio and the birds give it a unique feel. However the service, beer and food all need work. They’ve been open for a few months now so you would have thought they would have their act together but not yet. Maybe another change in management is needed, the first manager lasted two weeks before they fired him, they probably should have kept him because then the people working there might have an inkling of a clue.“

“Cool and interesting venue. Nice rooftop patio and a steadily improving staff. Nice tap list and some pretty good food. Just tapped their first in-house brewed beers and off to a fairly good start. A couple of nits- the birds can be annoying, not enough bathrooms. Overall, it is a good place and steadily improving in all areas.“

“Interesting an unique concept with the birds and bird cages and everything. Great outdoor seating area that sort of mimics being in the woods along with a great rooftop bar area as well. Food was above average. Tap lists are now available and it was decent. Some local, some regional, some import, some random one-off type stuff. Enough to keep me busy for a visit.“

“Well this place is fun. The atmosphere is only OK, nothing really that remarkable but fine anyway. The service was really good, not particularly knowledgeable tho. The selection was good, with almost every santan beer available and a few guests. Value was good, affordable. Nice place, big.“

“Really fun and eclectic with an area for everyone. Big bird cages with exotic birds add a flare. Very new so service and food need work. Large tap list but no way to get the information. Even though they are new they couldn’t give us a tap list just recommendations. That is just silly. Go for the ambiance and we will see about the rest.“

“If you lived in the area this would be great. Drinking and shopping while sampling is awesome. As a destination it is interesting but you are drinking in a grocery store. Selection is great, prices are decent but service was poor. It was cool, because I have never seen anything like this, but that is where my curiosity ends.“

“Stopped in here just after lunch. Nice big space with tables down the middle, bar on the right and brewery on the left and back of the room. Atmosphere was hopping even for an early afternoon. People sitting all over the place, inside and out. Service was quite good. I never had to wait for a beer and my server made plenty of small talk with me to pass the down time. Quality was solid across the board. Food was quite good, beers were diverse and in the correct glasses. Selection was just ok. Only seven beers on at the time of my visit, while a good verity they were just ok. I got the pub pretzels since I didn’t want anything big and they were really good and hit the spot well. Prices were on par with all of the other places I have visited in the last few days. Overall a decent enough brewpub that I would probably return to if I had some extra time in the area.“

“Stopped in here earlier today on my trip south. Took a minute to find the beer area but once I did it really was pretty impressive. Huge long cooler holds most of the six packs and singles, with the rest scattered around the area. Directly across from the cooler is the tap area with lost of seats and all of the beers on a large chalk board. Atmosphere was good for what it is, a few people milling around looking at beers. Quality was pretty solid. Lots of different beers from all over the country, multiple styles and they even sold some glasses I had never seen before. Service was pretty good. I was left alone to brows the beer area but once I went over to the wine / bar area I was asked if I needed any help, I didn’t tho. Selection was easily the best part. They have a TON of beer in that place. Lots of locals, nationals and internationals. I was able to pick up some Crooked Stave and even a mead I was on the lookout for. I didn’t try any of the food this time but it all looked great. Prices were solid across the board, only a handful of bottles I felt were a little high. Overall one of the best grocery store bottle shops I have ever encountered. I may return when we roll through town again in a few weeks.“

“We visited this brewpub on 28.12.2013. It is a large pub with a nice patio, was quite crowded during our stay. Brewhouse and fermentation tanks are visible behind a glass wall, which gives a nice beer feeling. They serve 7 of their own brewed beers. we had an IPA, an Amber and a Nitrogenated Black IPA (very good!). Beers are served a bit too cold and are average. Overall it’s a good brew pub, a bit mainstream though.“

“I visited this brewery on opening day many years ago. The brewer was great and the ambiance was nice, despite it being attached to a mall. It isn’t inside a mall, but in the area just surrounding it. Overall, it was a very positive experience, but like I said, it was many years ago.“

“Visited 3/4/2011 during Ratebeer Winter Gathering for an early lunch.

We were some of the first ones in so there weren’t a lot of other customers around. We were greeted by a server and a couple of other employees from the brewery. They promptly gave us all a free glass of their imperial red (which was their contribution to the Voltron blend) and it was quite good. I then ordered a sampler of the rest of the beers and plate of fresh baked pretzels and split all that with someone at the table.

The beers were all solid and in some way enjoyable. We were given a tour of the facility. The brewing equipment is cramped, like any brewpub. The canning/kegging area is much more open. They have a large keg fridge where I spotted some of the interesting casks (vanilla porter for example). They also have a fridge that they use for 5 gallon test batches.

Very nice people, awesome place. The food and the beer were both good. Would recomend this to everyone.“
