80 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Heritage corner pub on Leather Lane. Around 18 handpumps on the bar, but only two cask beers available, a hangover from the pandemic with so many folk still working from home. 10-12 keg options too. I hope to return in busier times |
66 /100 Ninth Ward (Bar) 99-101 FARRINGDON ROAD, Visited during Covid19 restrictions. Entry with no problems, table service, manual registration. This place has a worn in feel to it along with having a younger vibe. As you enter there is a very fancy bar to the right, high benches for drinking and beer boards giving up to date information. The music is a tad loud but a decent mix. The beer range is interesting, all keg, mostly London centric. Not sure it would be a regular haunt but worth a look. |
90 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Nice corner pub with a great selection of draft and bottle beer. Will return the next time I am in town |
80 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Long walk from CASK to here, but the weather was nice, so no issues. Unlike cask I was a bit disappointed with this stop. The bar ambiance was nice, a bit on the small side. Lots of taps and casks, including Humble Sea (again!) but seemed a bit less selection than CASK. Bottle list also more humble. All bottles could be purchased for take out at about 30% discount, which is a nice feature I wish was more common in the US. |
86 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Well run bar with lots of good choices, around 25 taps, well chosen. I visited late on a Tuesday, and the place was loud and sticky and felt like a wrap up of a corporate group event. The bartender was apologetic of the mess.
It is a narrow modern bar with seating along the edges of the room. Beautiful mirrored ceiling and chandelier added a classic touch.
It was not my favorite of the Craft Beer emporiums around town that went to Covent Garden, but a great place to visit. |
74 /100 Ninth Ward (Bar) 99-101 FARRINGDON ROAD, This bar has a nice feel to it, like somw of my favourite US bars. The choice on tap isn't massive but there's some stuff of interest: Wiper and True, Partizan, and some rarer Beavertowns. It's not perfect: the music is too loud, and I got a half when I asked for a pint (as did the next guy that was served). Still, it's pleasant, quieter than the average Clerkenwell pub, and the beer is enough of an attraction to stay for a while. |
82 /100 82 LEATHER LANE For mine largely on par with the Covenant Gardens venue. Less taps (37 vs 50) but the same impressive devotion to local producers and cask. I visited Monday afternoon so very quite but it did make for a much more comfortable watering hole. Deservedly has a place in the top rung of London Pubs. |
90 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Have been here several times over the years. I love getting a beer downstairs at the bar and sitting with my feet up reading a book in the upstairs room. Best beer spot I've found in London so far. The other Craft Beer Co's are nowhere near as good as this one (which I believe is the original). |
74 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Solid beer spot in London with plenty of casks. IPA heavy but we seemed to just miss the best ones that had just kicked. Cool layout and atmosphere. I'd come back but wouldn't go out of my way. |
90 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Very welcoming old corner pub with a wooden interior and a lots of mirrors. Large selection of casks and taps as well as bottles. The barkeepers are very helpful with suggestions and the prices are quite good. This is definitely worth spending an evening here. |
82 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Visited on Saturday afternoon, cool relaxed atmosphere, small and cozy, friendly service, nice selection of keg and cask beers. |
82 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Visited january 2018. Cozy place with a very nice selection of local ales. Next one please! |
68 /100 Wedge Issue (Restaurant) 91-95 CLERKENWELL ROAD Visited on January 2018. Nice ambiance for a restaurant. Pizza was nice. Value was OK for a couple of halp pints and a pizza in this area. Next one please! |
86 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Nice bar with a fine selection of local cask beers and ciders. Friendly staff. |
90 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Around 25 or so taps with excellent local high quality beers. A lot of domestic and foreign bottles including a decent selection of Belgian sours. Absolutely excellent service. Friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are a bit on the high side, but it's worth it for the most part |
84 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Visited two times last weekend. Cozy place in good location. Lots of local beers. Chairs were quite bad. |
84 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Nice cosy place, good music, friendly staff with knowledge about the beers. Quite some taps and hand pumps. |
90 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Great place. Visited in May. New to this, but would definitely recommend! |
72 /100 Wedge Issue (Restaurant) 91-95 CLERKENWELL ROAD Excellent Italian pizzas including several tempting vegetarian options. Beer selection is not too comprehensive, but the emphasis on local craft beers +Canadian special imports makes it possible to discover some gems anyway. |
78 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Good bottle selection, friendly and knowledgable staff. |
80 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Gran selección de keg y cask.
|
56 /100 Gunmakers (Bar) 13 EYRE STREET HILL Multi-roomed pub including an enclosed garden area at its rear, this traditional looking pub with modern touches inside is just north of the Clerkenwell Road at its western end. There’s only three cask with nothing too exciting on the small bar in the front room, but I found a bottle of cider in the fridges I’d never come across before. Had a 20 something crowd in on a Friday afternoon. |
66 /100 Wedge Issue (Restaurant) 91-95 CLERKENWELL ROAD At the western end of Clerkenwell Road, this is mainly a pizza restaurant, but it has a decent selection of keg ales with notable craft brewers from the capital represented here, so you can marry food and a decent drink here. I was the only person in here on a Friday lunchtime. Bottles available too. |
84 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Don’t know that I’ve ever loved the ambience though I can see why others do, but a brilliant selection, friendly and knowledgeable service. Great pub. |
56 /100 Kin (Restaurant) 88 LEATHER LANE A great Thai / S.E.Asian restaurant now offering bottles of Howling Hops, Mikkeller aswell as Asahi and Singha. Food is great. A few doors north of Craft Beer Co. |
76 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Tidy little pub with overall good selection of English but not necessarily stellar craft. |
80 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Great pub with lots of beers on taps! Friendly service and atmosphere! |
76 /100 Wedge Issue (Restaurant) 91-95 CLERKENWELL ROAD Handily placed Restaurant cum bar on the Clerkenwell Road close to the Bus Stops. Bright and open it has a warming / welcoming feel to it. Drinking only is welcomed with table service and a pretty reasonable keg and bottled beer list, certainly its easy to find some gems on there. The owners are Canadian and hope to be able to supply some unusual beers from there in the future. Added to the must visit list when round the corner at The Craft Beer Co. Give it a try. |
92 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Been here loads of times but only just reviewed. It’s a beautiful bar in a quiet area with many original features intact like the ornate mirrored ceiling and chandeliers, but at the same time being extremely well maintained. The cask and draft selection is epic, though unfortunately on my last visit between Christmas and new year most was off (worst I’ve ever seen it). Still, it’s usually one of my favorite places to tick in London so I won’t mark it down for that, I’d just think twice about visiting at this one of year. Good bottle selection to as well as a nice selection of bourbon and scotch. |
88 /100 82 LEATHER LANE great ambient, great traditional selection of beers, good |
88 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Really cosy bar, with a quite traditional interior, but still a modern, clean atmosphere. Staff was very helpful and knowledgable. Beer selection was very good, with a huge tap list of interesting local breweries, although I was missing some big, harder to find stuff for such a highly rated place.
Overall still a great place, definitely worth one of the top rated spots in London. |
92 /100 82 LEATHER LANE Second time in London first time visiting this bar, I had a great time, the service was really good, friendly and they knew there shit, the selection was solid with lots of English craft and a couple cask ales. I will be back for sure!! |
68 /100 Ninth Ward (Bar) 99-101 FARRINGDON ROAD, No cask but a decent choice of kegs. US style food looked and smelt calorific! |
76 /100 Wedge Issue (Restaurant) 91-95 CLERKENWELL ROAD **UPDATE 2019 Sadly this venue has CLOSED** Good pizzas but also excellent choice of bottles and I had a pint of Brixton Reliance Pale Ale on keg 1 of 8 on tap... |
90 /100 82 LEATHER LANE I absolutely love this place. The bar is 2 stories-You can go upstairs and get away from the din of the lower level. Fantastic tap and bottle selection focusing on London-based craft breweries-Brixton, The Kernel, etc. Lots of great stuff on cask as well. I will go to this place everytime i am in London. |
