“Visited July 2017. Industrial/business park sort of location. They had a big space inside along with some picnic tables outside. Some patio games as well (e.g., cornhole). Some families hanging out playing games and enjoying some food and beverage. Got some sandwiches and tried the beers we hadn't had before. The food was quite good and so were the beers, of course. They have stuff to go as well. Good service and great selection.“

“Brewpub for the brewery, this is in the middle of town and close to the Oregon State campus. Typical feel, with wood and metal, new school brew pub feel, plenty of seating inside and out. Service was friendly and knowledgeable enough, a little slow but we went during lunch time on a Tuesday, so understandable. Beer selection was great, varied and everything was top notch. Worth a stop if you're in town, and the production brewery isn't open, as was my case.“

“Loacted out a bit from town, industrial/office park, but jammed on a Saturday. Indoor and outdoor seating, brand new, modern. To go beets also available. Nice selection of their beers. Food menu available.“

“Came here after a long morning at the Block 15 release. Was nice to have a place to hang out without too much crowding. First, I really like the place itself. It’s up 3 flights of stairs, and you get the feeling that there’s at least something to see when it’s not as clouded over as it was on a cold day in February. Though it’s got a bit of a sports bar feel; they’ve done enough to mix in family decor outside the bar. Service was excellent; this was one of the few places I’ve gone where my interest in rating marked me as someone worth chatting to. Though the beer isn’t great; it’s solid and won’t disappoint. They’ve covered the basics. It’s a nice place; one I’ll visit again with the family. If only to see the view.“

“Visited on 10th November 2014. A modern looking place on the 2nd floor a few minutes from Block 15. It has a nice modern feel to the place and has a deck area. We stayed inside as it was a little parky. A good range of beers available with 12 on tap. They weren’t the best we tried but were OK and came in flights of 6. Service was decent enough and prices OK. Good for the ticks but not the best beer.“

“Visited on 10th November 2014. Thanks to Frank for the ride from PDX. Took about 90 mins from downtown. It’s a modern place with a mix of booths and normal tables set in a rough U-shape. A good range of their own beers on tap which are available in tasters. A good crown in later on for food. We tried some snacks which were good. A really good venue with decent beer. Liked it.“

“Visited here for the Turbulent Consequences release. Sat outside the building with free coffee and donuts (and then some free beer! Thanks Nick!) before getting outside. It’s a big place, but it looks very inviting. There are a great number of tables both inside and out - which all filled up very quickly - and there are plenty of taps here to keep a person occupied. Moreover, despite the fact that you’re in a production brewery, it has a lot of charm, with some great bottle art on the walls, and plenty of breathing space. Service was great, and the beer, as always, shows across the board skill. Really, the only complaint I have is that it’s so far away from Portland because I would be here just about every night if I could.“

“I didn’t come to this place expecting it to feel like a pilgrimage, but I have a sneaking suspicion that my next visit might feel that way. They’ve really put together a great specialty beer bar in a town where you could be forgiven for not expecting to find a specialty beer bar, and they have a great kitchen behind it as well.

I came down here after snagging a winning ticket in the bottle release lottery; in addition to a guaranteed haul of bottles I got to sit down in the taproom for brunch. I promptly took the day before off of work so I could come down for dinner the night before as well.

Dinner was packed, since they were pouring a bunch of special release beers. They’re not technically a part of Block 15 Brewing here, but they share a common owner—they pour a lot of B15 beers, and B15 holds events here regularly (in addition to at the original B15 taproom, which is still next door, and the B15 production facility/taproom, which is on the south side of town). So for the weekend when three flavors of Turbulent Consequence came out, here was Les Caves, pouring all of them, plus 17 other interesting PNW beers, some of them B15.

The space is nice enough; it’s a long narrow bar space covered in dark wood, with a few more tables in the long narrow next room. The staff are super nice, and the tap and bottle lists are spectacular. They bring out a food menu in a little manila dossier, and the cellar book is a big chunky directory covered in pebbled leather. Everything here feels substantive and official, but they maintain a nice informality on top of that, mostly because the kids working here are so nice.

We checked out the meat and cheese plate, beef cheeks, and Caves Burger. The meat plate was pretty feeble, to be honest. Nice choices, and tasty bread, but just a couple bites of actual meat and cheese; even in Portland you get 5x the cargo for about the same price. (Seattle prices are much higher). This was not a huge deal, but it was kinda funny after hearing the waiter go on and on about how it was a meal unto itself. Can’t fault the guy for enthusiasm, but it’s safe to say he’s really scrupulous about watching his weight if this is his idea of a hearty meal. The beef cheeks were cooked perfectly, with wonderfully flavor asparagus on top. The burger was fantastic, as were the fries.

Next morning, I had the pork pancakes. So rad. Spicy smoked pulled pork scattered over four buttermilk pancakes. Such a strange idea, but so good. Very filling, to say the least. They have waffles with bacon and chocolate syrup—those evidently were not on the menu, but since this was a bottle release with assigned seating, we had locals at our table who had heard to order it. Looked awesome. The polenta eggs benedict were tasty (the one bite I had), but the goose eggs benedict sounded even more interesting.

Prices here are fantastic, and bottles are all available to go. I will definitely be back many times. “

“Wow, what a gorgeous facility! Before you even get there, you can clearly see the great work they have done to build fruitful relationships around them: The city has put up multiple signs on the streets leading in, guiding to you to the brewery with directions and distances. They obviously expect lots of visitors heading out this way and want to make sure they get there. That’s nothing unusual for a sports stadium or something, but I can’t remember the last time I saw official street signs pointing to a small independent brewery. Dig it.

The building is out in some fairly open space; there’s a decent amount of parking but on a big bottle release day they still spill way out into surrounding streets, because so many people show up. It’s not overly flashy, but it’s beautifully built—nice high ceilings with pretty blond wood everywhere. Flooded with light thanks to the big wall of windows. There’s a huge patio where you can hang out for fresh air with your beer.

Inside there are long tables, a big bar, and around the corner is a huge production facility packed floor to ceiling with gleaming stainless steel. The taps focus primarily (if not exclusively) on house beers. About a dozen faucets pouring awesome sours and hoppy stuff, for the most part. They have some bottles for sale out of a cooler behind the bar, too.

These guys are truly special even in a state with dozens of good to great breweries. They really shape up their beers and get them just how they want before they release them; you just never hear about B15 beers that are still works in progress. They must have a few things now and then that are only okay and only the locals taste, but for an out-of-towner like me, it seems like these guys make dozens of spectacular sours, fruit sours, hoppy things, stouts, and strong ales. They just consistently make beers that are about as good as anything anyone else is doing.

I have to say the kids working here are so, so nice and friendly. Even on a crazy stressful huge release day (five beers at once) with never-ending lines, they were always in a great mood. Three really funny, likeable bartenders and a cool sales/distro guy all made time to chat and answer questions, and they kept slinging more and more boxes of beer on the bar for me. I dig everything about this place. “

“Came here after flat tail since this seemed like a better fit for some grub. Arrived just before the end of happy hour so I ordered off that menu. The burger and fries were fantastic, a little pricey for a "happy hour" menu but worth the value. Had a beer along with it. The tap menu seemed slightly subdued, but interesting none the less. Would surely return if given the opportunity.“

My travel day was more like PTSD. sat at the bar and was service was warm and friendly. had two beers and grabed a four pack for the week in my hotel at a reasonable price. decent. might be back this week, but so many other things to explore so we will see.“

“This is the actual production brewery with a large tap room and kitchen. Very modern and quite nice. Service is at the counter, so can be slow, but they know their stuff. The food is similar but a smaller scale of the restaraunt and seems to be cheaper. A great spot.“

“A cozy spot with lots of nooks and crannies that tends to fill up quickly with locals. Surprisingly not a predominant beer crowd. Service is good, and can be a bit slow as they take time will all patrons. Food is well done and interesting pub food. Flights are available and you can try anything. A nice spot if you want a cozy spot to hang out. But I prefer the new taproom.“

“Great place with a local vibe. Some of the best sours in the state, worth trying anything with fruit in it. The food is tasty pub grub. I tend to fill up growlers whenever I’m passing through. And their cellar events are typically worth waiting in line.“

“Visited around 12.30 at lunchtime on Monday 10/11/14. Sky High is a modern facility around a 5 minute drive from Block 15. It’s located on the 2nd storey of the building, modern clean feel, wood and tiles, nice outside decking area which will be great in the summer though way too cold on our visit as winter was starting to take a grip on this part of the PNW! 12 house beers available, all pretty medicore with my ratings averageing out at just 3.06, the Freewheel IPA was way above the rest at 3.5. Beers available in tasting flights of 6. Service was fine, we didn’t eat. Good place to come to for ticks but for great beer - no!“

“We rocked up outside 5 minutes before the 1100 opening on Monday 10/11/14, just shy of a 90 minute drive from PDX, parked right outside. Modern building mixture of booth seated areas along with standard tables, kind of follows U shaped floor plan. Brewing facility is next door as is Les Caves, the more upmarket eatery, although this was closed on our visit being a Monday. 15 beers on tap, all their own nearly all solid apart from the styles you come to expect to be dull, available by the pint, half pint or 4oz tasters. Service was good and the place soon filled up with an early lunching crowd. We only had some grazing food on this stop, spinach and artichoke dip was fine. Overall a solid brewpub with a good core beer range, plesant atmosphere allied to decent service.“

“Great location for a brewery, very cool building that overlooks the city and river. Beer was not very good. Did not eat, though I hear the food is very good from many people. Worth going to just to see the building, but don’t except to like your brew.“

“Next door to Les Caves (same ownership) but a different type of place. Feels like a college town brewpub, although these are guys aren’t doing standard stuff downstairs. Service is great, the food is fine just nothing stand out, and the draft selection is always solid. Some regulars are on all the time and then a bunch of rotating stuff. Always enjoy coming here and nice the the 2 place are so different.“

“Sky high is a fantastic addition to Corvallis. The outside seating on the second story patio is wonderful and heated. There is a great view of downtown from the restaurant and a wonderful view of the Willamette River from the patio. Great food and nice service. If you want outside seating on the weekend, prepare for a 20 min wait or make a reservation. When waiting you can order a drink from the bar and wander around the brewery. I really enjoy this place...PS - the wooden beam work is amazing :-)“

“Block 15 is located downtown, several blocks from campus. I’ve been going there for several years and it is a go-to establishment when visiting Corvallis. Food is great and the beer is even better. There is usually a pretty decent selection of year-round brews as well as several seasonal/cask brews which are rotating. Food is great, but prices are a tad high for what it is. It also gets busy in the evening and if you want to eat dinner at 6:00pm on a Friday or Saturday, it would be best to call ahead to have a table reserved so you don’t have to wait 45min for a table. Overall, I really enjoy Block 15.“

“Really impressed with the selection that they carried! It’s like going into a small bookstore full of awesome beers! They keep all there beers warm, except the IPAs, which I absolutely love! The staff was extremely nice and engaging, nice pup lounging around on the floor, just a really cool place. My only complaint would be the smallness of it, but with their selection and amount of great beer like they have, you could get lost looking at the shelves for quite awhile. An awesome place!“

“This is seriously one of the best-kept secret in the Willamette Valley. Don’t come here if you want "filler" beers. However, if you are looking for great beer and selective bottles, this is the shop to patronize. The staff is well-versed in beer and they’re a wealth of knowledge about good beer. I love talking to these guys and digging through their shelves for that "gem".“

“Great Brewery. The guy pouring beer knows his stuff. Very helpful and knowledgeable about beer and the process. Good service and a good place to try Belgian style beers. Both the head brewer and the intern brewers were great. Talked beer with me for over an hour. At the end of the night, after closing, they let me taste some of their experimental brews in the backroom. I’m sold on this brewery...I think it has the best service and the best selection of beer in Corvallis.“

“Nifty little place in a college town, albeit a bit like a used bookstore. They tend to hold onto bottles a lot longer than in the big city, so there’s often a find or two. Ample selection with a smaller number of beers refridgerated. Worthy of a stop if you’re in the area.“

“The second stop in Corvallis after Les Caves (which is the same ownership.) Corvallis has come a long way since Block 15 opened up over 5 years ago now, and I think it’s the inventiveness of the brewery that does it. They release a constant and well rounded series of beers from IPAs to sours to RISes and there’s typically something new or interesting to try when you come here. Floor space is well maximized since it’s not that large of a space (2 stories). Service is generally good and reliable, and the prices for both food and beer are Oregon average. It’s mostly pub fare, but it’s good pub fare. Recommended, however, Les Caves is where you really want to go. Edit: Bumping up the score on this, as I’ve gone out of my to get here far too many times now.“

“This is the best bar in Oregon, in my opinion. A Belgian inspired hangout that’s small yet layed out to remain spacious with a lot of old world charm. Have had brunch here multiple times for Block 15 bottle releases, and there’s always an extensive and interesting draft selection, as well as some of the best prices on bottles you’ll see anywhere. (Most bottles cost about the same as they do in the store.) Service is always outstanding. Go here, if you can, it’s worth the drive.“

“I have to say there is an absolutely stunning selection of beer here. The best in Corvallis that I have seen. The service really depends on who you are talking to and at what time of day. If you are a brewer, I’d suggest going early morning. If you are a drinker, go towards the latter part of the day. There are beers here that are offered elsewhere at far cheaper prices, but I really did like talking to the staff. If you want a beer not available at other places, go here. You’ll probably find it!“

“The ambiance of this little pub makes it all worthwhile. The service is a touch slow, but considering the type of pub, it’s very acceptable. The staff is very worthy when it comes to talking beer. Tasters offered, not just on request. Though I was skeptical, the Irish Stout was impressive as was the Ruby. Both lovingly and expertly crafted. I would return here in a heartbeat.“
