“Visited late March while visiting a friend in the area. Like a couple other breweries, I don't think we stayed long because it was super busy or had a big event going on... for some reason I didn't rate many beers. Maybe they didn't do flights or samples or something, which would have pissed me off and caused me to leave. But honestly, I don't remember. Much different than the previous Dallas area brewpubs we hit, this was a big warehouse place. In a strip mall, I think? Huge open space, sheet metal and wood everywhere. Not so much hipster BS and wall art and goofy shit hanging from the ceiling, etc. Big place, people were nice, beer was just okay. I may pop back in if I'm in the area, but it didn't blow me away.“

“Visted late March 2019 while visiting a friend. For whatever reason, we didn't stay here long. I think it was super packed and/or there was an event going on, so we split. Cool place - sort of a mix of indoor and outdoor, which is great when the weather is nice. Hipster place, full of goofy art, shit hanging from the ceilings, etc. It was busy, but the staff tried their best to get me served. Beer was okay, but I think we only had one each and split. I'd try it again if in the area. Just seems to be the "hip" or "famous" place in town and nobody likes that. Haha.“

“Visited late March 2019 while visiting a friend. He took me on a little mini-tour of breweries in the area. This was a neat place! We stopped in for a flight or two and lunch as I recall. Fun place - goofy, lots of goofy, fun art outside and on the walls, etc. Sort of a hipster vibe. Good food for lunch as I recall and the beers ranged from average to quite good. I don't remember being blown away, but nothing was terrible, and lately, I'll take that! I'd come back if I were in the area again!“

“Stopped in early New Year’s Eve and really enjoyed the place. 50 taps lots of good choices. They gave us a beer list, it was printed in August, as the bartender said, lots of beers on them we don’t have and we have lots that are not listed. I didn’t see an updated list anywhere you can check out the tap handles and chat with the server. Staff know the beer. Solid beer location.“

“Large fridge with 6 / 4 packs of imports, us and local beers. They don’t allow to break them, and thus have a very minor single selection... have about 4-5 Jester King and like 10-15 single cans.“

“Visited uptown location. Long tap list, serving flights of four but I wasn’t able to pick 4 - most beers were not impressive - lagers, hefes and such, almost no IPAs or sours. Might be the wrong day to visit... I just left and went away.“

“40 taps, some imports, many locals with great selection - when I visited they had around 10 of Jester King - not a common sight in Dallas. Serving flights of 4, attentive service, food seemed good, but I didn’t try. My top beer place in Dallas, must visit.“

“Visited October 22nd 19. 46 taps, around 10 were not in use, mostly local selection, serving flights of four. Place was mostly empty, they served food but I didn’t try. Have some bottles selection to go, few of Jester king and many other from around the state - all in bottles (no cans) and mostly all big bottles. Nice place, I wouldn’t ranked it as top in Dallas.“

“A great craft beer bar with a wide open space and plenty of seating. Large bar with a few TVs and a few more to show the menu (untappd style). Service was good and attentive. A strong selection (40+ taps and lots of bottle for on premise or to go) that seemed to skew local and was happy that they offered up flights. They had food on site but I did not try on my visit. Prices seemed fair overall. Top notch bar IMHO.“

“August 9, 2019 - this was our first stop while bar-hopping in Dallas. Really cool place with digital keg levels. Had a nice time chatting with the bartender, who was knowledgeable of the craft beer scene. Quite a few beers on tap, lot of style variety, had 2018 bourbon county and plenty of local/Texas options.“

“Finally a real pub in DFW with high quality beer. This is a must stop. Fun location with outdoor seating. All their beers to go in pre made crowlers and bottles. HUGE selection of drafts, at least 25 of their beers plus a bunch of guest. Actually hazy in Texas that tastes good. Some nice barrel aged beers too. Must visit.“

“From the outside this looks like an old box chain store. On the inside this leads to a huge open space that is perfect for a big group of friends or children, very child friendly. The offer flights at a reasonable price. Solid assortment of beers but nothing really stood out but the medical haze. I'd come back if they had some Legion variants on tap.“

“Big hipsteresque place in a warehouse district. Decent outdoor area with astroturf & a live band. Inside tons of exposed brick and random breweriana. Beers are all over the map which I like. Worth going to but I think there are better places in Dallas.“

“This was listed as Centennial Fine Wine and Spirits, which evidently closed and is now a Specs. Visited on a Friday afternoon. This store is laid out like all other Specs, with the beer in back, though is tiny by Spec’s standards. The beer selection a bunch of Dallas and Texas craft, as well as solid offering of national craft. No singles or mix a six. There are better Spec’s in Dallas.

“Visited on a Thursday after work. I believe the taproom component of this brewery is relatively recent - past reviews seem more focused on brewery tour open layout sort of deal. Located near downtown, near I-35 in a wholesale warehouse part of town. The parking is limited with a few spots in front of the brewery and tasting room and sort of grab what you can beyond that. Interior has a neat design, its smaller but uses the space really well with three levels to spread it out. The first level has picnic tables and a small merchandise and growler shop, the 2nd level has the bar and some seating, and upstairs is a loft with ping pong, foosball, mini shuffleboard and a TV along with more places to sit and hang out. The beer selection is 17 house beers available as a full pour or a taster. As mentioned, growlers available at the merchandise counter. Happy hour prices, food trucks on Saturday. Fun spot.

76 = *** (Worth the visit, must for locals, and visitors with time)

“My current favorite brewery in the DFW area. Like hops? The Derelict IPA is the best West Coast style in Dallas. Like German? The DF Dub is a spectacular Dunkelweizen. Belgian? Freaky Deaky is their most popular offering - and with good reason. Their lighter offerings also offer great taste. Big open warehouse style area - the back has ping pong and some video games. Most Saturdays a BBQ guy serves some outstanding stuff right out of his smoker. Well worth the trip. Hours are limited, so plan accordingly.“

“Updated November 2016. I have revisited this place a couple of times, and they now feature the largest selection of Texas singles I have seen in the state. They are stored warm, but if you want to try a bunch of new Texas breweries the selection is great. Upped score from 76 to 82.

82 = ★★★½ (Solid place, near the top of the list for locals and visitors)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Visited last afternoon on a Tuesday. This may possibly be the largest "warehouse" style liquor store I have ever been to. It was more or less overwhelming, though it was easy enough to find the beer section in the far back corner. There is a huge selection of beer in coolers, and an equally huge selection of beers in warm storage. I noticed not all beer was in the cooler, so make sure to check both places if you are looking for something specific. I was looking for Deep Ellum Rye Pils, and was able to find it. I was hoping to grab a variety of beers to try, but there was no single or mix a six selection here. The lack of singles was probably the main drawback. Service was mega store functional. Overall, probably a better spot for locals than visitors, but regardless a good stop.“

“Visited late on a Thursday afternoon. Located in an area of Dallas that appears to be gentrifying, near both Community Brewing and the Meddlesome Moth. As you approach, this looks to be very much a production brewery. The tap room is designed mostly for standing, with no bar stools, and tables only around the perimeter of the room. There is outdoor seating as well. 5 house beers available, shaker, or flights for $9. Beer nuts were the only food option the day I visited. Friendly service.

70 = ★★½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)

“UPDATE: revisited in September 2016, they have 9 of their own beers on now, along with the same solid list of guests.

Visited after work on a Wednesday. Street parking out front, easy to find in Deep Ellum. Big, sprawling place with a huge front patio, and a bunch of seating indoors and at the bar. All of the windows were open on a lovely spring day, and there was a fun, noisy crowd. The first thing I saw was a large sign stating there would be no house beer until May. The brewing equipment is installed, and looks ready to go. No worries, there were 27 guest taps that were a decent selection of local and national, all craft. Service was plentiful and efficient. Date of last line clean was listed on chalkboard, nice touch.

“Visited later in the evening on a Wednesday. Located not too far from downtown or I35E, easy to locate - though it definitely feels like a bit of a weird deserted feeling part of town. Parking out front, or along street. 4 picnic tables up front. The tasting room has plenty of space, with seating at the 2 bars, high tops right behind, 2 big couch areas and a large open room with 2 arcade games and 2 old school video game systems. Foosball. Food is pasties and a scotch egg. 8 house beers along with 12 guest draft, beer available to go as crowlers or cans. Guest drafts were really well chosen locals and other global craft. Fun local vibe, tons of character, super friendly help.

“Visited for dinner on a Monday. Located in a beat down suburban area strip mall. Interior is nicer than exterior, quite a bit of character and a cool L shaped 14 seat bar. Additional restaurant table seating around the room. Beer selection is 11 draft, all Texas. Also featured some house infused liquor options, which looked interesting. Great service, fun crowd good vibe. Had a good burger. Classic / yacht rock on the system.

“Came here on 3.5.2016. A perfect wrap up of my Texas trip! They are serving 42 draft beers, whereof 24 are from Texas. It was very empty, maybe 5 people in the pub (came on a Tuesday, at 9 pm). Excellent beers: quality and selection. Finally, tasted the Revolver Blood and Honey, great unique beer. The SMASH Session IPA was also excellent. Great place to taste the best beers from Texas.“

“Came here on 1.5.2016. Another great beer place in Deep Ellum. Love the decoration, a mix of industrial art and modern graffiti, also great outdoor patio. Good selection of beers, several guest beers, a lot from Ballast Point. Their own beers are also quite good, had the Frühlingszeit, an Alt style and a Kölsch. One of my 3 favorite beer places in town: Deep Ellum #1 as best location, Four Corners #2 as best beers and BrainDead #3 as best combination of both.“

“Came to this brewery on 30.4.2016. The tap room is located in a very large hall (was once a warehouse) with live music at the end. We came on a Saturday evening and the place was very empty, hence even the live music could not inspire too much. The brewery is behind the bar, separated by a glass wall. They won several medals at big festivals. I tasted the Bitter and the Saison, both were really nice. As the place is too big (+ they are serving their beers in plastic cups), it is losing a bit character and ambience.“

“Came here on 30.4.2016 and liked this place from the beginning, not commercial but authentic. Great symbole, the smily face with the beer bottle mouth is a lovely idea! This place emits an authentic atmosphere, many friendly locals, a creative decoration and a welcoming patio. This is a great escape of the commercial Budweiser/Millers/Coors traps you can find everywhere in Texas. Was very busy on a Saturday afternoon. I had a Rye Pilsner and an IPA, both were absolutely ok. Best beer place - overall experience - I have found so far in Texas!“

“Nice brewery to visit while in Dallas either on a second visit or if you have a few days. I would call Four Corners a very good second tier brewery...definitely not a destination place...but a place you can certainly have a fun evening at. I thought the vibe was cool...the crowd great...and the staff...although a little too busy...accommodating enough. The only reason I would not consider them a first tier brewery for the Dallas area (and most important of course) is that the beers did not overly impress me...none were less than good mind you...but also none were exceptional or even particularly memorable. Still...worth a stop if in the area and time allows.“

“Community is a really great brewery...and not just for the beer...the staff and service were very good...and the management very helpful, engaging, and supportive of our visit. Not only did my friend and I (visiting one night only from NJ) get a personal tour of the brewery...but that included some special samples too...this while during a fairly busy evening visit. We climbed all over and under everything...up on the brew deck...into the cooler. Then to top it off...we learned the story of the 40 some odd whiskey barrels they’d recently purchased...mostly McCallan’s...and that they weren’t empty when delivered...8 gals or so of whiskey still in them! My friend and I were treated to a nice pour of the smoothest and most tasty whiskey I’d had in some time. As for the beers...liked the Oaked Mosiac IPA, the Sundial Session IPA, and the Barrel Aged Legion. Great people...great brewery. You may not get as lucky as us...but this is still a do not miss stop while doing craftbeer in Dallas.“

“Very strong initial effort for a new brewery. I thought the layout and taproom were very nicely done. The brewery is definitely impressive. We got very lucky the night we visited...we arrived about 15-20 mins before a private party was taking over the whole brewery...and with the preparations they were making...the place wasn’t really open to the public...but when I mentioned we were down from NJ and only in town for the one evening...the staff was very gracious and let us order for the next 15-20 mins...and then stay a while longer to finish what we’d purchased. They allowed us to take lots of pictures too...the brewery was lit very nicely with purple/pink lights I’m guessing for the party. During the short time we visited the staff was very talkative...answered all of our questions...and were just basically very fun to hang out with. I especially liked the Better Horizontal XPA, the 50FT Jackrabbit, and the special release called 100 Million Angels Singing. I very much look forward to a return visit on my next trip to Dallas.“
