“Downtown Harrisburg, Pennsylvania The Milllworks is a very nice brewery with patio and two stories of space. Free parking next door. Dim lighting and big windows light this place. Beers to go here 13 of their own beers on tap. 2 bartenders, both nice. Place is very nice and upscale. I would come back here.“

“We came here the second time on 24.11.2019. Located in Harrisburg in the middle of a residential area, far away from other restaurants. A few months ago they had some issues with the new brewhouse, seems to be resolved now. Around 15 beers on tap including a Yuengling Lager. We had the IPA and the Lager, were both mediocre. Very large beer hall with super long bar and the brewhouse and tanks behind the bar. Small area for live bands (on Wednesday) and a Taco place (food was ok). Will not come back.“

“We came here on 2.11.2019. A true neighborhood bar in Midtown Harrisburg. They have around 10 beers on tap with 4 of them being rotating. A lot of local beers: Evergrain, Troegs, Zeroday. Burgers are excellent and service is super friendly. We will come back for sure.“

“Kind of an odd location...in a residential neighborhood feel. Built in taco truck that you can order food from. Big inside. Found the beers drinkable but nothing sticking out and the tacos from the taco truck were just OK. Maybe its too new, but not I would not seek it out but would stop by if passing it.“

“Big free parking lot. Nice, clean, well stocked, and well organized bottle shop. Has to have the best selection in the area and almost everything is available in singles. Service is quite good here. Pricing is quite reasonable, especially being in PA.“

“Stopped here on date night with my wife. We had a Groupon and we tried a flight of 4 beers, all were good. They also have a fine selection of 6 "Guest Beers"- all nice selections. It runs from $5 to $6 for a 12 or 16 oz glass, not bad. They do not have a restaurant here, but there is one next door, or you can call somewhere else for delivery, or bring your food in, like we did. I like that cause this place is packed with brew works, tanks, barrels, and bags of hops. I hope that they keep it this way and keep concentrating on making good, quality beer. This is a very accessible , nice location with multiple ways of getting here. They have about 16 taps.“

“Lovely little hole in the wall, with a window to order pizza from the place next door! Nice decor, packed with people, and lots of interesting stuff on tap. It was a bit hard to order in the busy state I visited, and the beer was up and down.“

“We came here on 18.8.2017. A really nice surprise. This small vegetarian restaurant is located in downtown Harrisburg and has a brewery in the basement. They had 4 beers on tap including a good Lager and a tasty Chili Kölsch. Food was great too. Also liked the ambience of this place, good music and nice service. Will come back.“

“Located in a strip shopping mall, ironically next to a crossfit gym. Smallish industrial space with the brewery in the back and the taproom area up front. They had 7 of theirs and another 12 guest taps. I thought their IPA’s were solid, but my favorites were their stouts and their wit. The guy behind the bar was friendly and happy to talk about beer. I’ll definitely go back to again to see what they’re up to.“

“Located in downtown Harrisburg very close to the state capital. If you’re lucky you might get street parking, but there are also a parking garages near by. It’s a large space with tall ceilings and long bar with decent sized patio. Lots of good things to chose from on tap and as well as some nice stuff in bottle. (The night I visited they had 4 different Russian River beers available which is unusual this far from Philly.) It’s a pretty solid beer destination though I do wish they offered flights and smaller pours.“

“We came here the first time on 10.6.2017. A long bar in front of 100 taps. Music and ambience is mediocre. Quite good selection of draft beers, many from the PA area. Tapping quality of beers was no good as they use not sufficient CO2. Really hope they will correct this soon as all the good beers are wasted otherwise. Service is not very beer knowledgeable, but friendly and fast.“

“Came here the first time on 8.6.2017. In Pennsylvania most of the large food stores are not allowed to sell alcohol, hence to find a good beer distributor is very important. Breski has all the US mainstream beers (is selling Coors kegs) but also offers an ok range of craft beers. All Troegs and Victory beers, a limited range of West Coast beers and a few bottles from Belgium. A small bar with around 8 draft beers is inside the shop. Will for sure become a frequent customer.“

“Came here on 7.6.2017. This brewpub + taproom is located in an older industrial estate a bit off the city. Interior is very simple and not nicely arranged, does not feel comfortable. Small brewhouse is situated behind the bar. They had 6 of their own beers and 11 guest beers on tap. The own made Pale Ale (Testify) was mediocre at the best. Seems they had a quiz night the day I came, was extremely loud.“

“Formerly known as Crave, which I visited a year or two ago, this has pretty much the same food menu as before (all vegetarian, and most things either are vegan or can be easily adjusted to be so), but as of this year they now have a nano brewery in the basement, operated on weekends by a brewer whose day job is software development. It’s a half-barrel system apparently, so there are only three beers to choose from, but I have no problem with that if the beer is made well. And while they do plan to make beers with vegetables or fruit or spices given the restaurant association (one of the three on tap when I visited was a strong Belgian beer with apples and squash, which of course I scrolled past), the two hoppy beers (sans adjuncts) were seemingly flaw-free, so that bodes well for future offerings. The food is wonderful (I love both the tacos and the protein bowl), the vibe is hip/cool, there is some outdoor sidewalk seating, and the staff are happy/polite folks. Due to the small beer selection and the likelihood of at least one of them being a novelty fruit/veg/spice beer, it’s perhaps not a place for a ticker who wants a sampler tray with 12 beers to rate from 2oz pours, but if you’re vegan like myself and want to try a solid brew or two ($6 for 12oz), it’s a cool stop.“

“We visited on 12.4.2017. Another new brewpub in Midtown, 5 min walking from Millworks. Very small location, serving around 10 draft beers. We were not permitted to walk into the brewhouse, from outside it looked a bit filthy. Beers were mediocre and staff not very nice. There are better places in Harrisburg to have some good beers.“

“We came here 12.4. 2017. New brewpub with a strong focus on local ingredients and art located in the midtown area. I was surprised about the charme of this part of Harrisburg. Pub is more on the fancy side, but not too posh. We had a session IPA and a pale ale, both were clean and quite tasty. Although it was a very warm day, unfortunately the roof top beer garden was closed. Came back in June and could sit on the roof terrace, definitely a reason to come back! Pizza was mediocre.“

“Sort of pricey for Harrisburg, but the food was great and the beer was solid. The converted warehouse is a pretty beautiful space, and I love the way they are making an effort at creating a community connection place. Pretty good spot for a pre-minor league baseball game dinner!“

“It had been years since I’d visited the Midtown theatre which is one of the few arthouse theaters in Central PA. Imagine my surprise that a brewpub had opened up next door. After sitting through nearly 3 hours of Toni Erdmann I needed a few pints. The place has kind of a warehouse vibe though it wasn’t too packed for a Thursday night. The beers were solid though it seemed like they were out of a lot of things, but they also seemed adventurous enough that I’d check them out again.“

“Located in downtown Harrisburg near Broad Street Market, it has a fairly sizable parking lot which is guarded which tells you something about this slowly gentrifying neighborhood. The restaurant is part of a larger space that also includes retail, a courtyard, and artistic display space. The restaurant was packed on a Thursday night but I was able to snag a seat at the bar. The brewpub is a more recent development and the beers I had ranged from solid to pretty good. The service varied greatly depending on which of the bartenders was waiting on me. The food was tasty and good in a gooey, messy sort of way. I might go back if I was in the area, but I’m not sure I’d make a special trip there.“

“Visited 10.5.16 quite close to midnight. The better-looking place down the street was shutting down, so an over-stimulating sports bar it was, with greasy food (vegan chicken fingers or something else that was equally acne-triggering) and a bunch of taps, bottles and pitchers. We found a couple of local beers, drank, ate and went to sleep.“

“I visited this place at the end of June 2015. It sits in the shadow of the Pennsylvania State Capitol building. I was in jeans. Many of the patrons were dressed up bureaucrats from PA State Government I expect. But forget about politics and enjoy the 75+ taps they had for me to choose from. I had a Bell’s Oberon and a National Bohemian, which shows you the array of beer they offer. Friendly service. Decent menu. I loved the burger I ate. Not sure when I will be back in Harrisburg but this will be a return stop for me for sure.“

“Huge place right in downtown Harrisburg. Long bar on one side opposite a large dining/entertainment space, so there was plenty of room to spread out. Fast, friendly service at the bar. Printed tap menu of 100 beers, many of which I cannot find in my area of the country. Cigar City, Lost Abbey and others were well represented. Did not eat here, but there were some interesting items if we had chosen to.“

“A great addition to Harrisburg. The stainless tanks can be seen through the glass window and the space inside the building is bright and well, spacious with tables and seating in the one main room. It’s early days for the brewery and taproom and was great to get to try the first batches of beers. Overall, pretty solid and I’m sure will only get better as the brewery progresses. There are snacks available. The owners and staff were super friendly and inviting. Another great spot for Harrisburg.“

“Visited with Hawbrewer, Kristen & nate2g for the soft opening. Nice location just a short walk from the center of downtown. We walked, but there’s a parking lot out front. Inside is modern and nicely done, with an interesting exposed ceiling discovered serendipitously. Nice view through glass to the brewhouse. Medium sized bar on the left, bunch of tables, pretty basic. Low noise so conversation was easy. Four beers on offer - I very much enjoyed the dry stout and the IPA, the other two have potential but need work. They also had a very nice local cider and a house made ginger ale. Plenty more taps, so there’s room for a much larger selection - selection score will improve once that happens. Service was efficient, friendly, everything went very smoothly with the place pretty full. Snacks were available, and I thought the hummus hopped with Citra was tasty and creative. This place shows lots of promise, and is a great addition to the Harrisburg beer and bar scene. Looking forward to the hopped saison that was just brewed. Now a must-visit while in Harrisburg, and an easy add-on to a visit to Al’s.“

“Extensive tap selection with many interstate breweries. Seriously lacking local breweries so may be difficult to find PA scoops depending on the visit. Food was good fare. With only a few beer bars in Harrisburg it’s worth a look along with Anthony’s across the road.“

“Large place right on the main drag. Street parking is metered. Long bar on one end, tables, pretty generic looking. Tap selection was massive but pretty boring. We struggled to find a local beer, and it was not a tasty one. No flights or smaller pours. Very small bottle selection included one Russian River, everything else was pretty common. Food was OK but pricey. We found three times as many local beers on tap across the street at Anthony’s. So this place could definitely stand to be more creative and more local with this many draft lines.“

“This is a chain of sports bars with half a dozen or so locations in the Harrisburg/York area. Very large, lots of space, tons of TVs. Large bar on one side with half a dozen or so taps, mainly macro when we peeked in. On the bright side, they did once commission a beer from Pizza Boy. It would be nice if they carried more like that.“

“Parking is lacking given the size of the place. Cool look to the place. Old school brick building. A good amount of seating inside. The upstairs is pretty large. We were given a tour, so they weren’t using it at the time. But there are 2 stages for live music, and a large back area for events. Decent sized bar that probably fits upwards of 15 or so. Decent variety of taps, though the beers are all just okay. Service is very good. Food is pretty good.“

“Very nice decor and ambiance in this place. Good place to eat and drink at a table as well as a cool bar. Incredible selection of 100 craft brews on tap with numerous very good choices. Had a Racer X and was eyeing the Backwoods Bastard, but the GF didn’t want me to overindulge like a kid in a candy store that I can be sometimes. Food was good, service was excellent and prices were reasonable. Would definitely come back here again and I rank it as the best place for craft brew in the area.“

“Visited: 6-19-12 I came to ABC while in town on business, this was my second time here so I went in knowing what to expect. A: The place doesnt look all that great from the outside as it is an old three story brick building with a barren facade but once you get inside, it has the warm feeling of a really nice brewpub. Plenty of tables for seating, nice bar area, several TVs hung about with european flags and murals to their beers. Q: The beers that I ordered (complete flight) were roughly about a 3.5 in quality rating, some were better than others but passable in almost all instances. S: Service was decent, the place was half full when I went in and the waitress was attentive and helpful. S: They offered 8 beers on their flight and there were an additional 3 more to purchase including two barrel aged beers, a good variety amongst the different styles and not much overlapping. F: Food was okay, a little pricey for the medicore quality. Avoid the grilled romaine salad, it sounded interesting but the char left the lettuce too tough to cut through. V: Prices were decent...between a full flight, quesadillas, and the grilled romaine salad it came to 27 dollars. Overall, a nice place to visit when you are in the area...definitely not a MUST SEE type of place but decent enough to grab a bite and a pint. They also have a belgian beer bar on the 2nd floor but it was closed when I went there.“

“Staff and clientele told me this is the original Appalachian location, and therefore much better than the others. It was certainly a plus to sit at the bar and watch the two brewers at work. They had a dozen beers, two on cask, and most were very solid, some were better than solid. Food was very tasty, and they even had homemade hot sauce that a customer brought it that really lights your fire. But the highlight was the genuinely friendly staff and other customers, they were terrific. I’d come back here in a heartbeat.“
