86 /100 Craft Beer City (Beer Store) 221 CENTER ST Nice, well-stocked store with literally tons of singles. Great for a ticker. Has a lot of local florida stuff and lots of other good stuff as well. Friendly service here. They even have wifi, good because my signal was dead in here. Also some growlers. Definitely worth a stop – load up on your way to the beach. |
68 /100 1200 TOWN CENTER DR, UNIT 101 Kind of a weird location in a strip mall basically on FAU's campus. Solid ipas, but all kind of tasted the same. Not much variety but solid overall. |
86 /100 Beer City (Beer Store) 221 CENTER STREET This is not a large place, but with the front 1/3rd being stacked short tables, with a wall of bombers, and the back 2/3rds being a wall of coolers, they manage to get a whole ton of beer in this place. A drive up window. A massive amount of choices. 4 taps for growlers. Beyond the obvious big FLA and the Southeast selections, they have a really strong cross-section from different parts of the country -- literally have found stuff local to me there, which I did not see around my area. I will continue to return. Works reasonably well (12 minutes away) in combination with a visit to Civil Society. That all said, it is not that close to the interstate, and is a bit hard to find with limited parking. Well worth a stop if generally in the area. |
84 /100 1200 TOWN CENTER DR, UNIT 101 A nice tasting room with a long bar, a few televisions and a very friendly staff. There are a few couches indoors and several tables and chairs outside. They love their hops here and the chalkboard-based beer menu reflects that. Every beer, whether it be one of their IPAs, IIPAs, their blonde ale, American wheat ale, porter or stout, are listed on the chalkboard alongside their individual ABVs, and detailed hop bills. Value? Their beer is expensive at $18 per 4-pack, but in the tasting room you can spend very little while sampling quite a lot. There’s a perfect-sized pour for everyone. They offer four or five different sized glasses; 4oz, 8oz, 10oz, 12oz and, of course, pint-sized pours as well. Like I said, a size and price to make everyone happy. Very nice vibe here. They have a mobile taqueria in the tasting room a couple evenings per week. Otherwise, there's no food offered, but they provide a few menus from a few local restaurants that deliver and the place is located in an outdoor mall-like community, so good food is only a stone's throw can be easily acquired. There's a good deal of parallel parking available along the street outside, but there’s also tons of free, parking in a large garage only one block away. The brewery is also located only one or two blocks from the Cardinals' and Marlins' shared spring training ballpark. The ballpark also hosts the Jupiter Craft Beer Festival every January. The beers are very tasty and aromatic. They specialize in unfiltered, hoppy, well-balanced beers. South Florida-appropriate beers. Refreshing and bright. I love the place and hope you do too. |
80 /100 1200 TOWN CENTER DR, UNIT 101 Nice place in an excellent location. Their chalkboard is filled with IPAs, a Brown Ale and a Stout or two. I tried the Seventh Wonder....Top Notch DIPA. I took home Grandma’s Lemonade...super tasty and tart Berliner Weisse. Only downside was just one girl working the bar which slowed things down a little. No biggie this time. Nice to have good breweries like this close to home. I’ll be back to try more off their menu and follow with an update. |
92 /100 1200 TOWN CENTER DR, UNIT 101 Small tasting room near the Marlins stadium in Jupiter. They make the best IPAs in Florida, a large feat for a newer brewery. Crowlers available to go. |
84 /100 1200 TOWN CENTER DR, UNIT 101 Sort of an industrial feel to a small brewery in a strip center community. Not a big selection of beers, but they’re just getting started.
Re-rate: Civil Society is now fully up and running. Their real expertise are their IPA’s. World class, for sure..... |
82 /100 Specialty Beer Cellar (Bar) 5430 MILITARY TR, #70 Super nice inside. The huge stone bar top is awesome and the rest of the décor is pleasant to be in. Nice and friendly service and the selection, though not huge, is void of any crap. I’ll be back for sure. |
86 /100 Beer City (Beer Store) 221 CENTER STREET Much better than it was when it was called AJ’s. Not a massive selection, the place is just so big, but they did have some hard to find (for me anyway) top quality stuff. There is a pretty nice growler section and everything on tap is good stuff. Nice to see this place back in business and stronger than before. |
58 /100 Specialty Beer Cellar (Bar) 5430 MILITARY TR, #70 Laid back with lots of exposed brick on walls, no TVs, the bar is a concrete slab on top of a brick and wood support. Big bar. The unrefrigerated bottled beers that are for sale are displayed on cool shelves that almost look handmade. Tall black ceilings. They specialize in Belgian ales, but offer other European beers... mainly German lagers. I did order the 1 American beer available - Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye. Nice experience with Shane the bar tender. All bottled beer is available to purchase and take home. |
88 /100 Specialty Beer Cellar (Bar) 5430 MILITARY TR, #70 Don’t let the strip center scare you, it’s got an old world pub feel inside. The focus is more on Germany and Belgium with a nice tap and bottle selection. Friendly and knowledgable staff. |
92 /100 AJ’s Beer City (Beer Store) 221 CENTER ST ATTENTION: This place is no longer called AJ’s - it’s is under new ownership and is now called BEER CITY. The new owner is Moe Nasser - see Facebook page. Beer City has over 650 brands of craft beers. Kegs are available too. craftbeercity.com |
92 /100 Beer City (Beer Store) 221 CENTER STREET Wow! Over 650 brands of craft beer. Mix and match available - which I like to do. Kegs are available which is cool. If you like wine they have a small selection of international wines. As an added bonus they have a convenient drive thru. Beer shipping coming soon. Ask for Moe the owner - he’s a great guy and an expert in craft beers. |
74 /100 ABC Fine Wine & Spirits (Jupiter) (Beer Store) 1260 INDIANTOWN ROAD It’s an ABC store. Pretty much like all the rest in Florida. See ABC Fine Wine & Spirits (Vero Beach). I’ve only been here once. I bought Cigar City / Mikkeller "Life is like..." and a bottle of Robinson’s Trooper ESB. No growler fills at this location. Plenty of parking. Cigars, liquor, wine and cheese available for purchase. |
94 /100 AJ’s Beer City (Beer Store) 221 CENTER ST The beers (IPA’s) are fresh. The selection might not be as overwhelming as total wine, but the selection really is carefully picked. The owner is a beer lover, so he’s picking either great stouts that last or small runs of the IPA’s that he doesn’t want to get bad in the event they don’t sell. If you’re looking for something special and with amazing service, Beer City is phenomenal. |
8 /100 AJ’s Beer City (Beer Store) 221 CENTER ST After having my tank filled three times (I ensured I had no leaks after the first empty tank) I feel like I have been scammed. I have a five pound tank which does not even last half of a five pound keg when I have it filled here.
This place is a very over priced joke. |
80 /100 Das Biergarten (Bar) 1203 TOWN CENTER DR, STE 116 This was a fun place to grab beverages after the Friday night food truck rally in the adjacent square. The selection was all craft, mostly regional and local, though a Colorado cask sat on the bar. Service was representative of their business, so I cannot fault them much for that. We enjoyed the night air outside as the band was loud for the small space. |
72 /100 Das Biergarten (Bar) 1203 TOWN CENTER DR, STE 116 Kooky little Euro soccer pub in Abaco. Decent draft and bottle selection. A little over priced. Need to get the kitchen up and running. |
72 /100 AJ’s Beer City (Beer Store) 221 CENTER ST Interesting place. Kind of a home brew/beer vendor. Super friendly and good selection of cans and bottles. |
40 /100 AJ’s Beer City (Beer Store) 221 CENTER ST Nice guy that works there, likes beer himself, that always helps. The selection is very slim, all refrigerated, and the prices are a bit high. A friend said he’s the best home brew supplier around. Now, if he had a growler station with at least three taps, I think he’d have a much bigger draw. |
58 /100 AJ’s Beer City (Beer Store) 221 CENTER ST Small, run-down looking store. The interior is small, cluttered and dirty. It is a drive-thru, and most of the business is shuffling 12-packs of macrobrews out the drive-thru window. The employee was very helpful and friendly. He seemed knowledgeable about beer. There are several coolers with craft beer, but several spots were empty, and many beers I’d expect to be there weren’t. The prices are good, but the beers aren’t labeled. Overall, this is a small store, and lacks the selection of a good beer store, but it is about the best in the immediate area. |
