“A nice beer store in Kittery, that has a decent separation overall, and a great selection of Maine beer. They have a decent layout, organized by region, and offers a good number if international beer.“

“First stop on our trip to the Northeast. Lots of inside seating, great selection of food and beers. Service was decent, known more for their food than their drinks. Tributary Brewing was located right next door, so a bonus for us. Food was worth the stop.“

“The family and I stopped in here for lunch on the way home from Portland last weekend. There's the bread store where you will spend to much money on bread you just sampled next door. The pretzels are great and Chocolate bread is a real thing and you'll love it. Then there is this small brick oven pizzeria/sandwich shop/pub with a great tap list where you will spend too much money but you'll be smiling about it. So a tap list 20 or so deep and half pours and flights are available if you can't decide. Lots of Maine beer as well as regional and some well thought out national beers. The food is fantastic! I had an incredible pastrami on rye. Our table shared an order of fries with ketchup, sriracha, and horseradish dipping sauces. also great Two of us got pizza and one got buffalo chicken tenders. I sample all and loved what I tasted. My one beef with this place: We were here on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't horribly busy, several empty tables. We were seated at a table that was waited on by the bartenders rather than a waiter or waitress. When the bar got busy with drink orders we got somewhat ignored. My glass was empty they didn't notice, we wanted to pay the check same thing. The food was superb atmosphere good tap list great I would go back in a heartbeat just give me waitstaff.“

“This is right on busy US Route 1 in the outlet mall section of Kittery. It had only been open a few months when I visited. Modest tasting room with a few tables and a counter area in the middle of the room. There were 8 beers on tap and that is the regular amount. I tried four of them and really enjoyed the Nebula IPA. The brewer and his staff were friendly. No menu but they offered popcorn. I arrived just ahead of a local beer bus tour. I am not too far from here so I expect I will swing by another time.“

“Reviewed from notes, but basically reiterating what everyone else said. I figure if I assist in saying the same thing everyone before me is saying, well, enough people are going to realize that despite being a 7/11, it’s more than just a gas station. Good value for the area. Selection is outstanding. I would go back when in the area but probably wouldn’t make a special trip.“

“Made the walk across the bridge from Portsmouth to Kittery for a nice dinner. Just be aware that this is a pretty tiny place and it’s very popular, so you will probably have to wait.

We ended up taking a couple seats at the bar, which was actually quite a nice place for a meal. Good sized wooden bar and sort of plays upon the "wood" theme of the place. Kind of dark, though.

The service here was a bit inconsistent at times. When we first walked in, the host was very friendly and took a drink order for us while we waited for a table. Once seated, the server was initially quite attentive, but then sort of just disappeared for awhile (even though being behind the bar, he was hiding in plain sight).

The food was excellent, though the portion sizes seemed a bit inconsistent. I ordered an interesting mac and cheese dish which seemed sort of like an in between starter and entree size, while my fiancee’s chicken dish was pretty substantial. Oh well. At least they tasted good.

The beer list here was really excellent. Mostly Maine offerings, though a few from throughout New England suck in there. Bissell Brothers, Maine Beer, Oxbow, Stoneface, Tributary...you get the picture. Definitely not cheap, but not anything really out of hand considering the rest of the area.“

“Stopped here today for the first time after Tributary. It doesn’t look like much, but they have quite the quality selection of craft beers in this tiny store. Not huge in the way of volume, but what looks like a well thought out selection of beer. I walked out with a couple of almanac sours, some Maine brews I’d never heard of and some enjoy by/after. Really attentive manager owner or beer guy helped me out. Food is convenience fare and pricing seemed about right. The selection is not big enough to go out of your way to get here, but if your here you should stop. I know I will again.“

“I just got back from the Mott the Lesser release, my second time for the release, and third time here. Great little tasting room, food trucks outside and live music inside. The beer is top notch, service is very attentive, even with a line around the corner I never wanted for beverage. Pricing is about what I’ve come to expect, its a bit pricey but for the quality I gladly pay what they ask. I’ll be back!“

“The owner of this place is a fellow beer geek and loves to offer up his assistance when he can. Pretty good selection and it’s getting better as he learns the in’s and out’s.

When you notice the prices, you have to keep in mind that the shop is in the Kittery Outlets and prices for anything in this area are a bit on the high side. That being said, I still will return based on how many local Maine beers he has in the store. For sure worth a look and if you’re looking for a certain Maine beer don’t be afraid to ask about it. Oh, yeah.. he sells wine as well. “

“Pizza restaurant / bakery / surprisingly brilliant pub. This is a pizza place attached to a pretty well known Maine bakery, and they’ve done a truly fantastic job with their tap list. Over a few trips I’ve found strong offerings from breweries from all around the USA, plus great Belgian, Danish, and Japanese breweries. Whoever buys there kegs really knows what they’re doing! On top of it, the food is great and there’s a strong wine and spirits list. The beer can be pricey (at least by Maine standards), but worth it to try some amazing stuff.“

“This is one of the area’s oldest and best butcher shops, but they’ve always had a good craft beer area in the store and it keeps getting better. They stock some great beers, at pretty good prices, and they know a lot about both the beer and the meat they sell.“

“This took me totally by surprise! I used to come here years ago to buy Sam Adams after the NH stores had closed, but I hadn’t been back in years. WOW! This place has improved! They have an impressive selection of top-quality craft brews from around the world -- everything from hoppy DIPAs from some excellent breweries to vintage barleywines and intense Belgian rarities. Don’t let the gas station vibe put you off or fool you -- this place is worth a trip if you’re in the area!“

“Attended their first anniversary last September 4th. There were lots people, live music, and food courtesy of Vida Cantina. I had a good time despite how ultimately confused I was about where I had to to get the beer I wanted. There was a converted cooler tapline station pouring beer under the tend outside; it featured beer that apparently you had to go inside to sample or buy mixed in with the stuff you could only gey iutsude. Liked the beer, but nothing really stood out unfortunately. Also, why isn’t anyone mentioned that it shares a parking lot with a USPS? I’d think that would be pretty important information. Looking ndorward tonMott the Lesser.“

“Cool place in a non-descript building in downtown Kittery. The wait here can be really long, but they have space to sit and wait it out, and it gets a lot easier when you see how good the beer menu is. Great curated selection of interesting beers from New England, as well as a few from further afield and international. Also, the food’s mighty good too! Worth a trip for the food and the beer, especially if you get lucky and there isn’t a long line.“

“Tiny little place with a small bar and as many tables as they can fit in here. They also have a very small patio out behind the place during the summer months. The menu is a rotation of specials that changes almost daily. The quality is good but hit or miss depending on what your food preference is. Also be prepared to wait in line for awhile around dinner time. The draft list is well thought out and is focused on local and higher end selections. If you have the time to wait, it is worth a stop.“

“This was actually a bit of a surprise to me. It is your typical 7/11 convenience store but they actually had a decent variety of craft beers I had not seen. SoMe for example. A tad expensive. You can also pick up hot dogs, snacks, other convenience store stuff. If you buy a mixed 6 pack they give you a 5% discount.“

“In a great location for the 3000 plus workers at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, located about 20 seconds from the side gate with plenty of parking and even a food truck parked outside on certain nights of the week. Haven’t sample any of the cuisine yet but plan on it in the future. And of course you can carry it into the pub and enjoy with your brews. Live music also is played on most Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights. As for the beer; two highly acclaimed brewers work here. If you don’t know who they are, you may need to educate yourself. The quality speaks for itself. “

“First visit to this new brewery and tasting room. Very nice. 4 beers on tap. $1.50 for a 4 oz taster. Décor is nice. Bathrooms are clean. They were currently out of growlers, so no growler sales unless you already had one. I was impressed. I wished I lived closer.“

“I stopped in here for the first time this past week on my way back from up North. The meat here must be pretty damn good because the parking lot was packed and the assembly line was about 20 deep at the counter when I walked in at 4ish on a Thursday afternoon. Small area off to the left side as you walk in the door dedicated to beer. Comprised of maybe 6 small shelves, but no macros to be found. Decent eclectic selection of brews some Maine and a few imports. I ended up with some SoMe stuff. Pricing seemed about average, service is what I expected from a butcher shop. I’d return if in the area but I wouldn’t make a special trip for it.“

“Jason is the current beer manger of this store. Given the amount of space he has in a small corner of a 7-11, he packs it with top tier craft beer. The selection took me by surprise the first time I checked it out. He also is a friendly guy and loves beer and the products he is selling. Based on the size I would not say to make a special trip to visit BUT… if you are in Kittery it pretty much is a must look. Take a look above of what I got over the course of time.“

“After years and years of being a customer of this fine establishment, I decided it really was time to rate it. Let me say that this is a butcher shop first, beer store second. However, the owner/ deli manager is a beer geek himself and the 250- 275 bottles or so that he stocks are all high end craft. Mikkeller, To ØI, Brew Dog, Evil Twin, De Proefbrouwerij, as well as local favorites like Maine Beer Co., Oxbow, Allagash and Baxter Brewing Co. He has told me that if I was looking for something special he could order it for me. They really know how to treat the repeat customers nicely. Since it is a deli you can stop in for anything you need for a cookout or get together. They also have a nice selection of sub’s, sandwiches and burgers if you are here around lunch time. So if you’re in the Kittery area it really is worth a look. “

“Great little place on US 1. Excellent beer selection. 20+ taps, all high end craft beer. Food, although limited, was outstanding. We had a brick oven pizza that was to die for. It is primarily a pizzeria. Waitress was as attentive as anywhere. There is a side shop where they sell their fresh baked breads, also delicious. On the down side, a bit noisy with concrete floors and high ceilings & the background music was a bit loud.“

“Stopped in on a busy friday night and was able to grab a brew and sip it while grooving to a Junior Murvin LP spinning on the turntable behind the bar. That gets bonus points in my book ! We were seated fairly quickly. Draft list was well thought out with styles ranging from lagers, gose, ipas belgian styles and ba stouts among others. Lots of fresh to the state selections meaning they are on top of whats coming through distro ! Crowded atmosphere and a bit tight to maneuver through but friendly neighborhood feel. The food was top notch from the deviled eggs, pickled peppers, duck poutine, pulled pork sandwich and a pork belly and cracklin dish we chose for dessert. Everything was spot on and delicious. I highly recommend this place as a food/beer destination in New England ! Well worth the trip down from Portland or up from Boston !“

“Just north of the kittery outlet shopping area on rt 1. Very good draft list with all kinds of interesting offerings, provide small pours presented in a wooden holder to allow for a variety. Bar also made some pretty good looking cocktails served in mason jars that looked outstanding. Pizza was in fact surprisingly tasty and innovative. Only downside seems that even in the heart of summer they close up shop at about 9pm, don’t know if this was just because I was in on a Monday? Good stop on a drive up or down the Maine coast..“

“Great family restaurant with really good tap list... Evil Twin, Sixpoint, Oxbow, Allagash, Marshall Wharf and a few nice classic Belgians. Great food menu for foodies and fussy families... wood fired pizza, house cured meats, local ingredients and a nice modern rustic decor that is clean and roomy. I also liked that they offered half pours for $2-4 each depending on the beer and the waitress was prompt and friendly. Great Place, Great Beer !“

“The best selection in Southern ME /Portsmouth, NH. 22 craft taps that included locals, Belgian and National craft brews. Also have craft wine on draught. They have a build your own sampler of up to 7 samples in an 8 oz glass. A small but strong bottle list that included, Jolley Pumpkin, White Birch, Brooklyn brewery, Allagash and Six point. Food selections are a small; but solid menu. We had a brick over pizza that was absolutely delicious. This place was real busy on a Saturday night but worth the wait. A real hidden gem. I almost didn’t want to rate it because I don’t want more people learning about how great this place really is.“

“I took my daughter Christmas shopping to the outlets in Kittery, ME. It was around 2:00 and we were getting hungry for lunch and decided to look for a place to eat. We decided to drive north of the Outlets on US-1 to see what non-commercial food choices were available when we came upon this place. The restaurant is open and airy with the cooking area completely open and the wood fired brick pizza oven in full view. Their tap selection was excellent with 20 different beers available, all craft, with good representation from local brewers. The bottle selection while not as good as the draught choices, were still mostly craft and included a couple of local beers. The pizza was excellent. Service was attentive. After an enjoyable experience, we were ready for more shopping. If you are in the area, definitely worth a visit. “

“The only other place worth visiting in Portsmouth after Portsmouth Brewery. This is a restaurant, not a restaurant-pub. This is not a place you can go for a few pints and a snack. You go there for a nice meal. The beer geek will find something interesting among the 8 taps or so. When I was there they had Moat Mountain line, Smuttynose, Long Trail, etc. Food is a bit pricy compared to pub food but this is unfair comparison because this is not a pub, this is a fine cuisine restaurant that happens to have a decent tap selection. Food is creative “Island” cuisine (for lack of a better description) but you can order a steak if you don’t feel adventurous. Expect $30 to $40 per person just for food if you want a full course. Funny enough I don’t think most of the food pairs well with beer. Not a place for a bunch of beer geeks wanting to have a good time but this is definitely the place to go for the beer geek travelling the with significant other.“

“Nice restaurant in the heart of Portsmouth. Interesting menu specializing in Caribbean food and wood fired selections. Service was about average and the prices were about average. Beer selection was decent for a restaurant. Mostly local stuff, Moat Mountain, Shipyard, Harpoon, Grittys and Long Trail. Also, some bottled Belgians. I didn’t care much for my meal, but that does not reflect on them. I was trying to be brave and order outside my comfort zone and I just didn’t care for what I choose.“

“Upscale Caribbean-style seafood place in downtown that specializes in wood-fire grilled fresh seafood, homemade spicy sauces, plantains, sweet potatoes and the like. Excellent food that was a bit pricey, but this is in a nice downtown resort area and when compared to the rest of the places around there it’s in-line. Good beer selection with about a dozen local-regionals on tap and another dozen or so bottles that included some Belgians. Friendly staff who actually know a little about the beer.“

“I honestly didn’t eat much of the food because it was too damn expensive, but what I did eat was very good. Unfortunately, I went in the place based on the lunch menu which looked somewhat affordable, but got the dinner menu which was ridiculously expensive and very limited. The service was fairly good, but there just aren’t that meny beers there. “Too bad this condo rise is being built right in front of it as its facade is now hidden from view. We sat in the second floor dining room, and were treated to a dinner which we will remember for a long time. First off, they have local beers on tap, I chose Moat Mountain’s Stout. I never thought I’d see this brewpub’s beers anywhere else than the brewpub itself, which shows how far they’ll go to get something interesting and regional. Other beers on tap were also interesting, a Smuttynose seasonal, Buzzard’s Bay, etc. But the food is the real highlight of this restaurant (duh!). The menu is creative, electic, and ingredients are very carefully chosen. My wife and I had two mesmerizing plates, both unique and full of details up to the tiniest bite. I’d never had so much fun tasting side vegetables. Flavors melding perfectly with each other, a harmonious union of delicate class. All for under 20$ an entree. Healthy and very tasteful, the chef is doing wonders here, and I will be back next time I’m in the area for sure. Bravo!“
