“Visited on 27th December 2021, late afternoon, early evening. It's a large one room sports bar with old pictures and memorabilia of American sports personalities on the walls, plenty of TV screens too. It's a cross between a cowboy saloon and surfer dude sort of place/vibe. The tap list doesn't change but there is a good selection of styles and some classics in the line up (Freemont 400 being the stand out for me). Of course there are also the usual sports bar options of 34 Oz pours, but no half-pints or flights, although the stronger beers are sold in snifters. Didn't try the food, but it looked fine as it passed my seat at the bar. My little trip/session in there gave me 5 new rates, so I was happy with that (but I'm a visiting Brit, most US beer geeks would struggle to find more than a couple maybe).“

“I didn’t know we were rating these kinds of things under places now. Ambiance is based on website. Decent service. Selection is pretty good as far as the rare beers. I have seen some on shelves in the US, but still pretty good. This is a little expensive, however my wife likes to do this, because after you have 30 shirts what else do you need. I will do this from time to time. Keep in mind if you select the wrong beer, you cannot send them back.“

“Impressive, classy place: bar to the right as you enter. The large spacey interior is divided into dining and non-dining areas by partitions filled with wine bottles. 41 taps with six glass flights of your choice available: which is what I did on 21st May 2015. Californian brewed beers major here, with a few out of state supplementing them. I had a flatbread during ’Happy Hour’ and thought it good value, all the beers I tried seemed in good condition and overall I thought this an interesting place and would happily return to sample more taps and food. I did not check out the market side of the operation, so can not comment on the bottled beer, wines available. I also do not think this should be listed as a Store.“

“A pretty solid online monthly subscription-based beer store. Good way to get your hands on uncommon and out-of-market beers. Two different beers offered per month in quantities of 2, 4, 6 with the option to purchase more. Nice thing is you can skip each month’s shipments if nothing interests you or for whatever other reason, there’s no limit to do so. They occasionally have special offerings for members outside of the monthly selections. Well-packed boxes with the hard cardboard-like molded bottle shippers. Have only contacted customer service once to update payment method and they were friendly with quick assistance. A bit pricey but a decent value with at least 4 bottles.“

Ambiance: Hard to rate a mail-order service and/or website. However, the website (though I’ve barely used it) is navigable, and the fact sheets that come with each shipment are informative and relatively upscale. Service: Absolutely incredible service. I’ve been a member for over 2 years, and I’ve had maybe 2 issues with shipments containing leaking or spoiled bottles. Each time, an email to customer service received a personal response in less than 24 hours and in each case the beer was replaced gratis (once they even included a bonus bottle). Also, the monthly notifications regarding upcoming shipments are informative and offer the chance to switch out for previous offerings if you don’t like what’s coming, or even to skip that month’s selections. Selection: Hard to rate this accurately. The selection is basically whatever they are sending you that month. However, as I noted earlier, you can swap out for previous offerings (if in stock). The key here is that many of the beers are indeed rare, hard to find, or limited releases. Value: Hey, it’s a little pricey, but not beyond what you’d expect for the service and the ability to have rare beers delivered to your door. Overall: I consider this a luxury service, but it’s a fun one. Also makes a great gift for a friend who’s into craft beer, and you can give it in monthly increments. I’m on a plan where I just get shipments every month and can cancel whenever I want. It’s pretty awesome.“

“Food is good, beer list is fairly extensive, but nothing really too crazy. While the food is enjoyable, you can’t really get much for less than $15-20. That’s not necessarily a problem, but the amount/value isn’t really there. Beers aren’t super cheap either.“

“My wife and I went to Bru Grill during their soft opening with high hopes. This area needs places with good beer along with food that’s not pizza or pub grub. I want to be able to have a nice meal and a beer. They have a nice selection of beers, many Calif craft breweries (Stone, Alesmith, Cismontane, Hangar 24, Green Flash, FW, Anchor...) The service was good. The problem I had was with the food. Altho it was tasty, the portions were small and pricey. I had the short ribs which was a chunk of beef rib (3" on a side) off the bone, sitting on some spinach and it was $20. It was good, but too expensive for what I got. I might go back for a beer, but I wouldn’t take people there for dinner & drinks due to the lack of value in the food you get.“

“Another Me too. We carry Belgian beers liquor store. About 40-70 flavors of non BMC beer including some Stone and Alesmith. Decent place to buy beer if you live in the area, but not worth the gas to drive there.“

“This is a small liquor store that has a pretty good beer selection: Alesmith, Russian River, Stone, AVBC and many others. It’s a nice little gem in Lake Forest“
