82 /100 Taproom Madrid (Opera) (Bar) PLAZA DE ISABEL II, 5 Sister bar of Taproom Madrid located in the basement of a Mexican restaurant.
Good selection of beers on tap.
You can buy your food in the Mexican restaurant above and bring it down to the basement to enjoy some craft beers. |
64 /100 Covent Garden (Bar) C/ DOCTOR FLEMING, 31 Acogedor Pub ingles.
64 /100 Bar Cerveceria Valverde (Bar) 4 CALLE VALVERDE We were going to the Burnout burger restaurant next door & popped in this local bar for a drink, good selection of local crafted beers. |
66 /100 Burnout (Restaurant) 6 CALLE VALVERDE This small restaurant serves excellent burgers as well having a half decent selection of different beers in the fridge. Not a venue to seek out in it's own right, but more to get a new beer, some very tasty food & keep the wife happy |
70 /100 El Corte Inglés, Puerta del Sol (Beer Store) PRECIADOS 3 Only made it as far as the gourmet divisions shelf display, 10 interesting bottles, none which I'd seen before. Quite a few more left behind. Good prices. Service was pretty slow when it came to paying |
74 /100 Fogg Bar Birras & Cheese (Bar) MORATIN 5 Very quiet bar which I was waiting for it open at 7pm on a weekday evening, choice of 11 taps, some from Madrid. Decent beers served in 2/3rd's. Serviced with a cheese & cracker tiny bowl. The barman was efficient. Had it opened earlier I would have returned as it was only 5 minutes from my hotel. |
80 /100 Be Hoppy (Beer Store) CALLE FUCAR 1 A enjoyable place to visit, a small tap room with a choice of 5, mostly imports but they did have 1 locally made lager which was very good. Bottle / can shop with 3 fridges & 2 walls of shelves with a very good selection. Service was good. |
82 /100 La Buena Pinta (Beer Store) MERCADO DE S. FERNANDO, CALLE EMBAJADORES, 41 A surprise to find a very decent bottle shop & tap room in a small local indoor market a short 10 minute walk south of the city centre. there is 12 taps from Madrid / rest of Spain / England & Germany. The bottle shop had 4 full size fridges & 2 shelves of walls of cans & bottles from Spain, Europe & the US. So lots of choice, many which I'd not come across before. Check you expiry dates carefully as a found a couple that had expired. |
78 /100 CALLE DE AUGUSTO FIGUEROA 30 A small bar a short walk from the city centre. A selection of 7 taps, 3 of which where there own. A few more different ales of there own in the fridge. Friendly & informative service |
94 /100 Brew Wild Pizza Bar (Restaurant) ECHEGARAY 23 Outstanding 2 floor bar in the centre, 1 minutes walk from my hotel at Plaza de Santa Ana, it was busy every one of the 3 times I visited. Upto 18 changing taps, mostly Spanish with a few of German / English. Everyone I tasted the quality was very good or better and the prices good for the location. Also have a fridge with a small selection. Service was very good. The kitchen serves excellent pizzas from 7pm. Very good white & red wine for my wife also served by the glass at excellent prices. What's not to love! |
70 /100 La Pirata Malasaña (Bar) CALLE MANUELA MALASAÑA 20 Official pub of La Pirata, in Madrid. The place is nice, with the main room being pretty small, but I haven't explored downstairs. It was lively when I went. Staff gives me the impression of not being beers experts or enthusiasts, but just random people paid to work there. A couple I identified as the owners/managers were doing some accounting (probably) right in the middle of customers. Their cat was moving around freely, which is a hygiene issue, since it also climbed where customers eat. I had to push it away 2-3 times. Selection was only La Pirata (including a jewel like Black Block), with the exception of a German hefeweizen beer (La Pirata doesn't have a hefeweizen in their line??). I had a cheese platter, which was average. Overall, this is potentially a nice place, if managed better. |
78 /100 Beerhouse (Bar) CARDENAL CISNEROS 16 Small beer place, very compact, in what is practically a squared room. Very kind service, with staff offering me the wifi password just by seeing me seeking signal. Just had one beer, but the availability was OK, with also several interesting ones, from Spanish to international breweries. Overall, I'd be happy to go back, especially at a time with few customers. |
84 /100 The Stuyck Co. (Restaurant) CORREDERA ALTA DE SAN PABLO 33 Specialized craft beer bar. Relatively small, divided in two rooms. Lively atmosphere, kind service though a little imposing on where to sit. Selection is good, with 14 beers on tap, going up to imperial stouts. Overall, a nice place! |
84 /100 Fogg Bar Birras & Cheese (Bar) MORATIN 5 Nice lively bar and fun bar in the centre. Atmosphere was lively and fun, service was kind and provided some bread with jamon, or chocolate with my imperial stout. Like that! Selection was pretty nice, though not large numerically. Prices were OK. Overall, a nice experience I'd be happy to repeat, and I'd be looking forward to trying those wonderful charcutterie and cheese platters I saw running around. |
80 /100 Brew Wild Pizza Bar (Restaurant) ECHEGARAY 23 Small busy bar in the centre. Lively atmosphere. Service was on point and readily available. Selection was numerically average (10 beers on tap, if I remember correctly), but of very nice quality. Half of the beers were imp. stout, barley wine, sour... Overall, I'd be very happy to go back and try more. |
70 /100 Chinaski Lavapies (Bar) CALLE LA FE 19 Average bar in the centre. Quiet atmosphere, not many tables available. Service was also quiet, probably because it was early for larger masses of people. They just minded their business. Selection on tap was rather good (17 beers), though only 4 Spanish beers. Strange. Overall, OK and good beers. But not very enjoyable. |
16 /100 Los Grifos craft beers (Bar) MANUELA MALASAÑA "Los grifos"=The Taps. So they have a tap on every table... Fancy and bland. Not such a huge variety, just the tap gimmick. Bah. |
18 /100 Carrefour Online (Spain) (Grocery Store) VARIOUS Really?!! What are we talking about?!! |
62 /100 Casa Zoilo (Bar) CALLE DE LA HUERTA DEL BAYO, 4, Even though they have some craft ales, this is a bar to drink vermouth -that misterious conconction so embedded in Madrid's DNA and so foreing to non-locals. Check the classic azulejo tiles, order a 'vermú rojo' garnished with a slice of orange, and forget about beer for a while. |
62 /100 La tienda de la Cerveza (Bar) MALDONADAS, 5 The old beer joint shuttered down some time ago -and I still miss it. Javi, the owner, was as friendly as it gets, knowledgeable, always on the look for new things...
This new place is nice, just around the corner from the previous one, and now they don't act as a shop, but just as a beer bar. Not bad, but not half as good as the original one, IMHO. |
88 /100 LaBIRRAtorium (Beer Store) VALLEHERMOSO, 34 Very nice and friendly beer shop with the option of having one in situ -some tables and stools scattered around, some fridges from where to grab a cold one.
As a shop, they do deliver to your door and, from time to time, you might also find strange old rarities clearly worth while to those in the know (i.e. I found some vintage old La Trappe batches some time ago that had been long retired.) |
100 /100 CLBM Bar (Bar) CALLE DE LAS HUERTAS, 59 14 grifos selectos. Buena combinación de nacional e internacional. Nevera de sours espectacular. Comida sencilla bien de precio y bien elaborada. Todo casero. Nachos Costillas Burrito Burguers y Butifarras. |
84 /100 Beerhouse (Bar) CARDENAL CISNEROS 16 Great place with a really good selection of craft beers. |
100 /100 Mas que cervezas (Beer Store) LEÓN 32 trabaje con Fran y Jose desde 2016 a 2017 y de nuevo en 2019 |
80 /100 Brew Wild Pizza Bar (Restaurant) ECHEGARAY 23 Came here on 26.8.2021. Quite centrally located (do not come with a car!). Very small beer bar with 15 local craft beers on tap (a few La Quince taps), a Pizza kitchen and a small beer fridge. Downstairs a very nice, red bricks, vaulted cellar. Was lucky to get a table on a Thursday at 8 pm (reservation is a good idea). Beers were excellent and Pizza was good. |
84 /100 JULIAN CAMARILLO 19 Came here on 26.8.2021. Located in the outskirts of Madrid, 15 km from the airport, next to a car wash. No dedicated parking but you might find a slot on the main road. Brewhouse is visible through a glass wall. Nice simple interior. Roughly 10 beers on tap. I had a dry hopped IPA and a Stout both were quite good. Very friendly service and a really good value (5 € the pint, 15 € the brewery T-Shirt). |
82 /100 Mikkeller Bar Madrid (Bar) CALLE LUNA, 22 Small place with good selection of Mikkeller and other northern European brewers.
A bit expensive. |
90 /100 La Pirata Malasaña (Bar) CALLE MANUELA MALASAÑA 20 Good place with La Pirata beers on tap.
Short but tasty selection of tapas. |
Personal conocedor y amable, y música bien escogida. Merece la pena. |
Precios ajustados. |
80 /100 Craft 19 (Bar) CALLE VALLEHERMOSO, 36 28015 MADRID-MERCADO DE VALLEHERMOSO- Craft 19 Pastrami, Burgers & Beer is a cafe located in a traditional barrio food market, taken over by dining tables at lunch and dinner. Top quality street food, plus a good craft beer selection and super nice staff. This place is authentic and relaxed. |
82 /100 La Pirata Malasaña (Bar) CALLE MANUELA MALASAÑA 20 Located in Madrid's city centre. Inside they have painted pirate related murals on the walls, that are way cool, wooden furniture over two floors and is quite cosy. They not only serve their own beer from 16 taps, but some guests as well. They also have live music on Thursdays and Sundays. The atmosphere is very pleasant to share beers and quality time with friends. Another must on your craft beer tour in Madrid |
100 /100 Be Hoppy (Beer Store) CALLE FUCAR 1 simply the best place in Madrid to have a nice beer. Amazing selection, very friendly staff. |
96 /100 Mikkeller Bar Madrid (Bar) CALLE LUNA, 22 great bar like any other mikkeller bar. Great selection of danish beers, quiet expensive though. |
66 /100 La Caníbal (Restaurant) CALLE ARGUMOSA, 28 Interesting evolution of a vintage Galician restaurant into a trendy beer joint in Madrid Lavapiés neighborhood, a stone's throw away from many other beer venues such as El Pedal, Chinaski or La Buena Pinta (pub crawling ahoy!)
Impressive collection of bottled ales, even large (75 cl) ones. Large dining room, terrace. Didn't try the food, they told me it's the same dishes from the classic restaurant. |
