“Layed back vibe. Located in an industrial area. The taproom is next to the brewery. A long bar with a few seats. Tables scattered around. They have 6 pinball machines. Good beer.“

“Been here a number of times. Huge warehouse space with the brewhouse behind the bar. Plenty of seating and a big bar where you order beers from. In the time of the 'vid, they've also set up the little parklet type deals on both the 21st and Adeline sides of the building. The place is very dark and they have kind of a metal and occult theme to the brewery and their beer names, merch, etc. I like it, but I guess it's not for everyone. They have started branching out a bit into sour/mixed fermentation beers more recently, but they're best known for hoppy stuff. I really like their west coast IPAs a lot, but they make some good hazy stuff, too. Service is always friendly and prompt. Pretty good prices on full beers, tasters, cans, and growlers. Definitely worth a stop if you're visiting the Bay Area.“

“I come here sometimes for lunch since it's not too far away from my office and a few projects that I have. This place does serve beer and it's mostly micro/craft beer, but this is not really a beer-centric place. The draft list is pretty small, generally about 8 drafts, I believe, and a handful of bottles/cans. The beers are usually pretty common things like Bear Republic, Sierra Nevada, Fieldwork, North Coast, etc. Cans can have a bit more variety to them. They do sometimes do special events that focus on more obscure breweries, so that's kind of cool. Prices are good, particularly for the Bay Area. Seems like the booze purchaser is a bit more interested in wine as they have more variety there. The main reason I come here is because their food is quite good. I usually end up getting one of their specials and have not been disappointed yet. If you're not used to Bay Area pricing, then it probably will seem pretty expensive, but it's about on par for a good quality meal around here. The patio out back is cool. Kind of like someone's back yard/garage with a bunch of junk in it. Lots of communal picnic tables to sit at and umbrellas/awnings for shade. I enjoy sitting out back and hanging out while I eat, so probably skews my rating a bit. This is more of a place you go as a local to hang out and have something to eat and a basic beer than some place you'd rush to as an out-of-towner looking for cool ticks.“

“Finally made it here. Took way too long since I am in this general area decently often. I guess I'm just always trying to get home or to another site when I'm over this way. Anyway, in the Jack London area and actually very close to two other breweries (Oakland United and Buck Wild), plus Crooked City Cider is just up the street, as was Beer Rev (RIP). Big warehouse space with a small patio outfront and plenty of seating inside. Big bar where you order with a few of the brewhouse. They had 14 drafts going during my visit and you can do flights of 6, individual tasters, and full pours. It seems like they're canning pretty much every beer they make these days, too. Beer quality is generally pretty good, especially the hoppy stuff I've had from them. Pricing is pretty decent for the Bay Area, too. Service was very friendly and helpful and they make quick work of any line that forms. Feel like I've kind of slept on these guys for awhile and they are actually one of the better options in the Bay Area.“

“I really like this brewpub. Walls lined with books gives a nice Berkeley feel. Six small fermenters line the wall. 15 taps. 11 cans to go. $3 for 5oz tasters. Great deal for Bay Area. Easy free parking. No BA beers in sight. Just a kettle sour. Pretty good quality beers.“

“This Beer Baron is in Rockridge (not that far from the BART station, in fact). They have a little patio outside and then two separate dining areas inside. Similar design and decor as the other locations that I have been to in Livermore and Pleasanton. Like the other locations, a good beer list that rotates frequently. Good mix of Bay Area and greater Northern California beers (Sacramento area, Sonoma), So Cal (e.g., Pizza Port), and even Washington and Oregon stuff. Good service as well. Solid place.“

“Truly beautiful brewery: 2 floors, many fermenters. Located in downtown Oakland close to a few other breweries and many restaurants. Close to Jack London square. 12 beers on tap. Flights of 6 for $15, which is a good deal in the Bay Area. Dozens of cans for sale as well.“

“First visited July 2017. Small brewery taproom in Temescal. Just down the street from Bakesale Betty if you want to wait in line for a chicken sandwich or Pizzaiolo if you want to wait in line for pizza. I dig the aesthetic here--nice tile work and really good color palette. Unfortunately, I found the beers here to be pretty...not good. Full disclosure, I have not really revisited their beers much since that time, so I am probably due to do that, but this rating reflects my initial experience. Will update as necessary.“

“Nice location with tons of restaurants and produce shops. Close to a few other breweries too. 9 beers on tap. $6 for 10oz, and $8 for pint, which pretty expensive. Four mixed pack of cans is a better deal: $18. Beautiful rustic interior.“

“Tiny little place that used to be Gordon Biersch. Now they have a handful of Drakes beers on tap, which I prefer. Not much to say here. It’s a pretty typical airport bar. At least serviceable as you can get a decent beer here.“

“What a pleasant surprise. Heading to Original Pattern and right next door is a new brewery, Buck Wild, so I entered it in the the database. I found free street parking easily, but I could see it being difficult at times. This place huge and professional. Maybe a dozen fermenters, full menu, fast service, cans. I got a 4-taster flight for $12: pretty good compared to other places. No BA or sour beers yet. Recommended!“

“Located in south Oakland, close to Chinatown, many other breweries, and in a very industrial area, this is a cool little tasting room with plenty of patio space, much of which looks like a Covid extension. When I visited, they had 9-10 taps, with a preset flights of 6 available for about $16 after tax. I'm not liking these preset flights that a bunch of breweries are doing around here, but at least most of the selection were more interesting styles. Most beers were pretty middling though, with the coffee porter being a standout. Very friendly service. All in all, a pleasant stop, but just another standard brewery that's not worth much fuss.“

“Always nice to try a new Modern Times establishment. This location is just a couple blocks from Drake's, so it's become a major craft beer spot. Huge interior, with lots of outside seating and standing room. About 20 taps when I visited (though a couple were empty), with everything available in 5 oz pours -- only one of which was one of their sexy pastry stouts, but they had more of those in cans to go. For the most part, high-quality beers as they've become known more. Prices are exorbitant, especially for their sexier beers ($6-8 per 5 oz pours for their BA / pastry stuff). Friendly, helpful and efficient service. Must visit when in Oakland.“

“Not too far from downtown -- you can either walk (about 20-30 mins) or grab a quick Uber/Lyft. Massive warehouse with plenty of seating, both inside and outside. Flights of 4 available ($12 or so). Large selection of beers, with a major focus on IPAs -- with plenty of west coat IPAs that ended up being the highlights. Service was fine. They have a bunch of cans and bottles to go -- most cans are only available in 4-packs though, which dissuades me from trying anything to go as a travelling ticker. Worth visiting.“

“Pretty cool spot close to a bunch of other places. It's a cider bar with almost entirely guest cider taps and a massive list at that -- well over 30 taps. Flights available or you can order single 5 oz pours, priced by the cider -- $3 minimum plus tax, some are $4-6. Pretty nice selection of mostly CA ciders, but there's some stuff from out of state (WA, OR, CO) and even out of country (including a phenomenal Spanish sidra). They also have a few fridges of canned and bottle ciders available to go or for on-site consumption. This place really reminds of Schilling Cider (from WA and OR). A little pricey but I really like their setup and concept. Worth a visit if looking for some cider in Oakland.“

“Beautiful small brewery. Large old brick warehouse with 3 old buses, one of which has been converted into a cooler. Spacious inside with 12 widely spaced wooden tables. The location looks like a barren warehouse district, as is common with many breweries. Looks like they have 16 taps, but maybe only 12 are on now. Dropped by at noon after a long swim on a Sunday morning. Nobody here initially, then 4 more people came in. I definitely recommend to visit. Very unique.“

“Probably the only place on the plant with Beatification on tap. Enough said, but I will say more: pours of Superstition meads. Rare one of kegs: eg. Pizza port Carlsbad, which I actively seek out. Good food. Awesome location. Green. Great weather. Lots of shops nearby.“

“Dropped by for tick, after a swim in Berkeley. I actually like this place quite a bit. My initial impression is that this is a standard liquor store, but they have a decent selection of local beers I cannot find elsewhere, and they sell in single cans. Location is very nice as well. Lots of shops and greenery and great weather.“

“Dropped by after a visit to Berkeley. Plenty of outdoor seating. Parking on the street wasn’t too bad, but it will probably be difficult during peak hours after Covid. Nice pizza cart and restaurants nearby, which is no longer a requirement. About a dozen beers on tap. All easy drinking IPAs and lagers. a few sours available in bottles.“

“Awesome little cider bar and bottleshop on College Ave. in Oakland. Cozy space, great selection. They carry a wide array of smaller cider producers from across the US, and the world. During non-COVID times they offer a monthly cider club, but they're currently offering curbside pick-up or delivery if you live close enough by. Definitely worth a visit.“

“So for the basics, you have around 20 taps (two ciders, mix of styles, all very west coast with some really good stuff there). 8-10 coolers covering all the styles, again with a focus on the west coast. They also have a cellar list which you have to ask for - had a few 3 Fontenein, a bunch of Firestone Walker and, most excitingly, 7 Bottle Logic imperial stouts. So yeah, I snatched those up. If you go and want the good stuff, ask for the cellar list. That makes this place worth a visit. Thought they were a bit stretched for service but no big complaints. As noted, neighborhood seems a bit rough. Maybe a 10 minute walk from BART so not too bad.“

“Great place, just as good as the barrel house in San Leandro. For a place with mediocre beers widely distributed, Drake's does its home bases right. Huge building in a street-type market, outdoor and indoor spaces. Would guess around 25-30 lines, mostly their own stuff. Their own stuff is damn tasty. Good at styles I can normally take or leave, great at styles I like. Lots of IPAs and sours but enough other stuff to chose from to hit all types of strokes different folks like. Food was superb (pizza, but they have burgers and snacks too). Decent prices too. Well worth going out of your way for.“

“Actually only visited on accident as I was lost and needed WiFi, but this place really caught my eye! Situated very close to the McArthur station it's quite easy to get to. Staff is nice and they offer half pours and flights, but only from their own brewery. You can fill growlers and buy cans as well. Prices are normal. I wouldn't have planned a visit there, but if you are ever in Oakland you should come here.“

“What else is there to say about this place? It's spectacular. Two bars, 25 drafts, some interesting bottles (although not as ridiculously awesome as other local places - e.g., Good Karma) - the stars here are on draft though. I've had a lot of beer all over the world and I haven't even seen at least half of these taps anywhere else. And the stuff I had was either great or interesting. The Bay Area is spectacular for beer. This place has earned a slot near the top of must-visit places.“

“Stopped in on my way up to Rare Barrel. This is in the industrial area near 880. Good news is that there is actually quite a bit of street parking, and it is in fact free. I walked a block or two, but well worth free. The place itself has a small outdoor patio out front. Inside they had a place set up for roving food vendors; it was a very popular gyoza/potstickers place when I was there. further back is the smallish and quite busy bar area. Tables of various size and a high bar under the tap list wall. Perhaps a dozen beers on tap, more I think - 14? IPA heavy which has certainly become the norm, but they had a smattering of other things including a Tripel and a couple of lagers. Flights of six available for $15(!). Of course the beer whore in me took control and I did a flight. Kinda glad I did though, cause the beer was actually quite good. Well above average quality wise, including a couple of standouts. Good service, clean bathrooms. A place to watch for sure. I have seen their cans around, but not in the places I usually shop at.“

“First visit...amazing place. Not a lot I can add to all the stellar reviews. The reputation of the craftbeer bar, restaurant, and building is warranted in my view. The décor is a very authentic Euro look. Such a fantastic listing of taps...front and back bars. A lot of the best Belgium's and Euro ales...some more common (but not often assembled all in one place like St. Bernardus ABT, North Coast Le Merle, Allagash White)...and some rarer...like Leipziger Rauch-gose "Pineus and La Trappe Dubbel, and Allagash Curieux...the latter rare on draft at least...plus a number of great but hard to find American craftbeers...Revision Dr. Lupulin IIIPA, Evil Twin Even More Coco Jesus, and Wild Card Bandwagon Pale. All of this plus over 100 bottles..."and" absolutely top notch food...both in quality and selection. The Trappist is a must visit when visiting anywhere in the Bay area.“

“Finally stopped in on the way home. Thi this is an industrial area; lots of semis loading/unloading produce. They share their space with other tenants; restrooms are outside of the brewery proper for example. Their space is smallish pretty dead on a Sunday evening. Friendly service however. 8 taps available. No flights, although that may change - they said they were waiting on glassware to start. 10 oz pours available. The two beers I had were unforutnately nothing to get excite about. An adequate IPA and an unfortunate sour.“
