86 /100 1901 NORTH FEDERAL HIGHWAY, SUITE E115 Nice little place in a glorified strip mall in Pompano that definitely exceeds expectations. Unassuming looking, with a few picnic tables outside and small space inside. Very friendly service, and flights or single 4oz pours available. Their beers are really what makes this place shine, all way above average with a few real standouts -- especially their big beers, the quads and imperial stouts. Definitely worth a visit. Prices are good too. |
92 /100 50 NE 1ST ST Super chill and sick place if you find yourself in the Pomps. High-class and fancy feel, very low-key and quiet with a chill vibe. The beers on tap (about 10 from Odd Breed) are disgustingly good, and there are a couple guest taps plus loads of Odd Breed and guest bottles. Prices aren't bad for -bal aged wild beers. I'm a big fan of this place and would go as far as saying that it's the best brewery and beer venue in Florida. |
90 /100 50 NE 1ST ST What a lovely place ! Very clean lookin' , simple but fancy bar. The right side is completely filled with barrels, and you can see the equipment in the back. They have a good amount of their own beers, and some guests. Their own beers ( we tasted a handfull ) were all very very good ! the guest had some macro's ( not sure way ) but more expended selection of great crafts. Some at rediculously low prices ! they also had an angry chair / untitled art beer on tap that was amazing. The people working here ( we spoke with 2 of them ) were big beer geeks, and simply great people as well. They sell some shirts, bottles to go, as well as some bottles only for club-members. Which is something i'd join if i lived nearby ! A nominee for the best place on this trip ! |
42 /100 400E , 3260 NW 23RD AVE Holy Hell what a place. It's a bit of a hidden brewpub. When you get in , there's a big stockpile of beer, at very good prices to go ( less than one dollar a bottle ! ) the place had the best music i've had so far in Boca, somewhere between harder rock/punk, and softer metal. That's the good part.
We seated at the bar, next to some peculiar individuals claiming this to be 'THE BEST BREWERY' , no more need to be said, and I took a flight.
The flight was poored in empty milkbottles ( yes, you read that correctly ! ) whihc is obviously a bitch to pour. Even worse, is that they serve these 4 small open-screw-cap bottles in a tin bucket, and expect you to drink from that. How do you do your own beers any justice by that ? This might throw of Kwak's beerglass as the worst possible glassware ever created. I insisted on a glass to poor the beers in, the bartender was surprised, as if i didn't use this ' amazing idea' as the first person ever... The beers all sucked. i'm talking NEIPA without any hoparoma, Brown IPA with cheesyness best compared by smelling pure blue cheese, and a lactose IPA that tasted like medicine. The bartender was OK, not at all beergeeky.
Quite possibly the worst Brewery i've ever visited, it's a tie between this and DC's Bardeaux. tThe beers were sorse here, but at least this place had good music though ! |
72 /100 2600 E ATLANTIC BLVD Big brewery in a strip mall on Atlantic. We had some really good house beers on our visit here, and a couple that were just ok. Interesting attempts and concepts, and for the most part execution was pretty good. I'd definitely come back. |
84 /100 2600 E ATLANTIC BLVD Great new brewery in Pompano Beach. Large storefront space with a pretty good size tap room and additional space roped off in the brewery along with a pretty cool game room off to one side of the brewery space. The staff here is great by the way...and although it was slow the day we visited (a Friday afternoon the day before New Year’s Eve)...I’m told the place is already getting pretty crowded at peak times. There were about 12 beers when I visited...those I most enjoyed included the IPA1A, Ziko’s Rage imperial stout, I Pee Lager (IPL), Rye Pale Ale, & Joe’s Pale Ale. There was also a hefe, a saison, a pilsner, and a milk stout. I recommend you make it a point to visit 26 Degree if in the area or passing by on I95. Good people...fun place...good beer! |
76 /100 2600 E ATLANTIC BLVD ---Rated via Beer Buddy for Android |
78 /100 2600 E ATLANTIC BLVD Visited June 2016. A nice addition to the FLL scene. Over 10 taps of goodness, most of which are solid, especially Ziko’s Imperial stout, loads of parking in the strip mall location, free Wi-Fi, 8.50 for 4 5 on. samples. Very friendly service. |
76 /100 Checkers Old Munchen (Restaurant) 2209 E ATLANTIC BLVD Best German beer selection in area. A very neat beer culture here with all kinds of incentives. Food is very good and very close to German standards. Can be a bit crowded so make a reservation. |
66 /100 Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza (Pompano Beach) (Restaurant) 1203 SOUTH FEDERAL HIGHWAY Well a very overpriced sports bar with way too many TVs. Can get good specials on beer there at times. Service is good. Food is top notch but pricey |
76 /100 2600 E ATLANTIC BLVD Nice modern Brewery with large tasting room. Typical brew heads as staff. Beer clean and fresh. nice new place. |
80 /100 2600 E ATLANTIC BLVD Newish brewery. Pretty modern facility. Good brews. Friendly knowledgeable service. Worth a stop. |
74 /100 3200 NW 23RD AVE #500 Warehouse brewery - New. Beers were decent enough. Close to Funky Buddha lounge. Gose was worth the trip. |
84 /100 The Vega Lounge (Bar) 2777 EAST ATLANTIC BLVD Little cigar, bourbon, craft beer dive in a strip center. Cool vibe inside. About 8 taps and 50 bottles. Van Winckle 10 & 12 by the shot!! Friendly staff. Worth checking out if your in the neighborhood. |
64 /100 Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza (Pompano Beach) (Restaurant) 1203 SOUTH FEDERAL HIGHWAY Visited for dinner on a Tuesday. Typical strip mall newer restaurant layout and vibe. Bar upfront, restaurant tables spread throughout. 12 beers on draft, craft featured Due South, Avery, Dogfish Head, Sam Adams and Cigar City (Invasion). Service was happy, friendly and efficient. Pizza was tasty. Not really a beer destination, but a decent enough place to grab a pizza. 64 = ★★ (Just ok) I only use the total score, not the component parts. |
70 /100 Crown Wine and Spirits - Pompano Beach (Beer Store) 1320 N FEDERAL HWY Visited before dinner on a Tuesday. Pretty standard Crown wine setup, with a solid selection of Wine, Liquor, Beer, and gourmet food. Friendly, solid selection that didn’t feature anything that really jumped off the shelf. Locals may want to check it out, better options are nearby for out of town visitors. 70 = ★★½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time) I only use the total score, not the component parts. |
74 /100 Cypress Nook (Restaurant) 201 E. MCNAB RD A nice small mom and pops place. Been around for over 60 years. Some interesting really good and down to earth food. Beer selection of mostly German imports and a couple of macros. Service is very good. |
86 /100 The Vega Lounge (Bar) 2777 EAST ATLANTIC BLVD A very small but high class place. Serve’s about 120 beers mostly US micros and some internationals. Only top grade whiskeys and Scotchs and wines. Someone conveniently put the taps deep set in the wall so that the waitresses have to bend over and stand on their tippy toes to use the taps. It makes for quite a spectacle. Very fast service a bit pricey so come during Happy hour. |
82 /100 Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza (Pompano Beach) (Restaurant) 1203 SOUTH FEDERAL HIGHWAY Wow a nice find with many micros on tap including Fuhgeddaboudit from the Funky Buddha brewery. Great service and some really good food. Beers are top grade. |
74 /100 Briny Irish Pub (Bar) 3440 EAST ATLANTIC BLVD Right next the the beach and a good selection of beers. They always have some nice Young tarts servering you. Nice beach Pub- |
60 /100 Crown Wine and Spirits - Pompano Beach (Beer Store) 1320 N FEDERAL HWY I have been here a few times picking up some beers while in the area. They have a good selection of German beers, at least for Pompano. I know that I can get some beers from home while I am at my condo here. |
50 /100 Crown Wine and Spirits - Pompano Beach (Beer Store) 1320 N FEDERAL HWY A better selection than most S Fla Crown stores...but nothing amazing. Service lacks a bit. |
82 /100 Checkers Old Munchen (Restaurant) 2209 E ATLANTIC BLVD When I am in town visiting from Europe I always stop in here for beer and a little food. They have at least 28 German Beers and great food as well. They do their best to make it taste like it is in Germany. Tops for German Beer selection in Pompano. The only thing not German here is the Hugh stuffed Hammerhead shark on the wall. (The shark was moved after renovation in the fire, but the place has been renovated) |
