Tuscarora Mill

A nice dinner place with a pretty good beer menu, including a rare Founders on the bottle list. Great food and quite attentive service. I would recommend this as a nice white table dinner location, but one where they still seat you if you don shorts and a t-shirt.

Nice upscale restaurant with a solid beer list, both drafts and bottles. Packed house but I guess we lucked out on an open table. Food was delicious, duck breast was great. Nice and attentive server. Could be a nice spot for a date or special occasion.

This is a classy restaurant in the upstairs portion of the old mill, with a more casual bar area that serves burgers and sandwiches. Our server was quite good, even though the place was very busy, every table full. Food was very good, with lots of variety and freshness. Beer list was well above average for restaurants of this sort, and included local offering plus at least one retired Bruery offering and other interesting tidbits. A nice choice for a good meal in town. Lots of parking in the area, and a very convenient location.

Very nice atmosphere but crowded little place. Excellent food and service. Rotating tap selection where you can build your own flight. Beer list not always up to date, but that goes to show the variety.

Ambiance: Very good. The inside is a tastefully restored old mill. Nice, dark wood bar. All staff nicely dressed in uniform, etc. The bar area can get a little noisy on busy nights.
Service: Very good. Most staff have some knowledge about beer, but not to high geek standards. Service is always attentive and friendly. If you are sitting at the bar and it’s not busy, don’t hesitate to ask for a taste of something. If it is busy, be mindful and have your order ready.
Selection: Good. 21 taps with a rotating, broad selection. You will see some mainstays for the various styles (ex. Allagash White for a Wit, Bells Two Heard for an IPA, etc.). Don’t expect anything rare or outlandish. Occasionally you can luck upon something harder to get on tap if it is the night of a beer dinner (which they do very well). The beer selection is online and almost always up to date. They also do flights for you tickers out there.
Food: Very good to excellent. Upscale, often using local ingredients. Again, it’s worth checking out the menu online to get an idea of what you are dealing with. Not run of the mill pub grub. They also have an extensive wine list if you have someone in the group who isn’t into beer.
Value: Good. As Tuskies is a little on the upscale side, you see it in the price. Beer start run roughly $6 a pint and up with some snifter pours (10 oz.) running $9. Flights are $7-$8.50 for three beers depending on which you choose. Drinks, dinner, and tip for two can get to $100 pretty quickly if you let it.
Overall: This isn’t a place to tick beers by design. If you are looking for a great dining experience that has a good focus on beer, you found it. Or if you are simply looking for something different from Fire Works, Doner Bistro, or MacDowell Brew Kitchen, it’s worth a stop.

Just sat at the bar while waiting on fireworks to seat us. What a surprise! They have a nice selection for a small restaurant bar, all of it craft. Belgium lambic and triples on tap! Visited again and the taps rotate with the seasons, so there is always something new when we visit. The food is fantastic, though a tad pricy. Staff is knowledgable about the beers from what I’ve seen. Revised rating up to recognize the change in how the places are organized.

Tuscarora Mill has become a date-night favorite for the wife and I. Fantastic food, and a great selection of beer. They even have "beer flights" you can order, where you get three small glasses of different beers you can try. It’s fantastic for introducing yourself to new beers. Only negative is it can be a little expensive if you’re doing a full dinner. Worth it though.

Over 20 different tap lines all of them craft beer. Amazing selection no bmc here. I understand the food is good here but I spent my time in the bar waiting on a table at fireworks pizza. Will definitely come back.

I was able to visit Tuscarora for dinner with my wife while visiting family in the area. Where I live (Milwaukee), most places with large craft/import beer selections are beer bars, and with limited food choices. This was unique in that it offered fine dining and an extensive selection of beer. It is in an old mill turned shopping center and the bar is wood-trimmed and dim with lots of oil lamps and other kitsch. The dining room in back (where we ate) was lit by large windows and seemed a bit...temporary. Service was OK - I didn’t feel that for the cost of the food we were attended to as fastidiously as I expected. Beer selection was very good, and things tasted as they should. I had a Red Seal Ale and a Victory Hop Wallop. Food was good. My wife and I both had corn chowder and she had the spinach ravioli while I opted for the duck. Both main courses were very good. I liked the combo of fine-dining and beer this place possessed, and it definitely takes beer seriously, judging from the beer events they host. I thought it a bit over-priced, but I’d go back.
