84 It may seem gimmicky, but the "exchange" is pretty serious. Our bill at the end of the night was much lower than I'd have expected at any other bar. To top it off, the service was excellent. The "exchange" has occasional "crashes" where everything goes to minimum price. We ordered a round just before one such "crash" and our server came back to make sure we still wanted the beers we had ordered (at their updated lower prices of course). And the manager gave us a discount on our bill after we ordered a beer we didn't like. It's also in a pretty cool building, with two levels (downstairs seems like more of a party--we were upstairs). We had a couple orders of the handmade potato chips, which were tasty. The tap selection isn't *huge* for a beer bar, but it's very good and has lots of variety. |
80 Probably one of my favorite bar experiences ever. I was just going to have one beer but the exchange kept crashing and I got to try 4 really good , and in one case a world class Bell’s IPA, for less than 15 bucks. I’m surprised more people haven’t run with this concept. |
66 This is an unfair rating b/c we didn’t get to experience the actual stock market-like "exchange". We were there in the afternoon. It is a huge, slick looking building with good service and a pretty good selection. Did not get to try the food but it looked great. Price was just ok. I am willing to give this place another try as long as I remember to go after 6 pm. The place was dead on a Monday afternoon. |
92 Stopped in for KZ Beer Week while I was traveling. I heard a lot about this spot and I was super impressed, what a great concept, we got some great prices when the market crashed! Will be back. |
76 One of the coolest beer places I’ve been. We got 7 beers for $27! Didn’t have any food but it looked great. Will be going back! |
88 KBE is a very cool idea. Went on a Thursday afternoon, so no "stock exchange" pricing. The selection was really excellent. Tough time deciding what to drink. Bar keep was not busy, so she was attentive and very nice, put up with our questions. Had the pizza, very good to excellent. Friends enjoyed their food as well. Pricing was good. Will be back in the future. |
82 Great ace in Kalamazoo Mi, a little gimmicky but it’s cool nonetheless. Great atmosphere good service good beer. |
78 We were kind of confuse ! Because of the name, we thought it was a beer store. So we thought might as well have a beer. If we knew it was a bar we would have come here instead of Shakespeare’s pub last night ! Well, next time. |
80 Great place with a gimmicky but fun draw. The happy hour is worth a stop if you are in the area - watching the prices of your craft beer rise or fall on the stock board is quite fun.
Great food as well. Much better than the average beer bar. This is a great place. |
90 Everyone knows the concept so I’ll skip that. Fun place. On occasion you can find a great microbrew for under $4 when the market crashes. If you have time to wait. Alot of Michigan beers. Nice rotating selection and some quality cask choices. Food is excellent, if a bit pricy. |
