We stopped in here during a bit of a crawl through town. It was rainy and a weeknight so mostly empty. We sat near the bar and chatted up the staff, who were very entertaining and having a laugh at one of the ... more interesting people they were serving that night. Service was quick and friendly with good knowledge of what they were serving. The drinks were all very good quality and served as the perfect rainy evening date spot. This would be a great regular boozer for me. Comfy, cozy, friendly, with good bites and beers. Highly enjoyable.

Cool place worth a visit. Very tight seating arrangements with it being inside a house. very eclectic like a lot of the McMenamins are. OK food and good beer.

The lesser of the Eugene locations. This McMenamins is cozy and homey (literally, an old house), but also weirdly artistic and uncomfortable.

Ok so I gave it top marks in everything, but I love this place. Order a Communication Breakdown burger and a Hammerhead (American Pale Ale) and you’ll be in hippy heaven. I go there every time I’m in Eugene. If you want sleek and sophisticated and haute cuisine, this is not the place however.

Great hippy pub. Funky people abound. Love the atmosphere and the memorabilia. Church pews are funny too. One of the best beers I’ve ever had Kris Kringle ale was here and I’ll never forget it. Fun place to meet people and listen to some good tunes. Mcmenamins has grown so much but this place keeps it in the heart.

This is the worst of the 3 McMenamins in town, but they have the best beers out of the 3. Food is typical and terrible service.

A great atmosphere - it’s an old house, so the layout is neat... fireplace and tables in the living room, more tables and booths in the adjacent smaller rooms, and a small bar in the kitchen or dining room. Was very warm inside due to the fireplace, and the lights were dim and the food smelled good. You could say that this is "just another" McMenamins, but the ambiance was very pleasent and relaxing. Drank a few glasses of the IPA and barley wine, and had the Wilber bacon, egg and cheese burger. Good food and good beer. Good setting, easy to find. Like having a pub in the neighborhood. Service was very good, even when it was packed. The bartender surprising me with some samples of their stonger beer when I ordered the barley wine. Good people who were very attentive.

Somewhat of a hippie throwback, lots of long hair, beards and tie dyes. The usual mix of Mcmenamins brews. Great warm friendly builing this old house.

Tight and crowded at 11:30pm on a thursday night. Almost no seating. It’s made out of an old house converted into a restaurant. Annoying locals. Cheap food and cheap beer. They actually made a very decent seasonal called Heavy Hand which I liked, I can’t think of any other McMenamins beers that I’ve liked as much out of the 60 or so I’ve had. This place is probably a good local spot once the originality of the other brewpubs wear off. Definately some local character in place as Gromit was noting.

The only bad thing about this place is that it’s a block away from Derek’s place... Seriously, though, it’s located in what was formerly a huge house. Everywhere you go, you can tell whether you’re in a former bedroom or the living room. It’s quite cozy in that way. You will never go to a McMenimin’s for the service, period. I’ve yet to visit one where the service did not down right SUCK. If you have a 1/2 hour for lunch, hit McD’s; not here. The food is average at best. You go to a McMen’s becuase of the neighborhood feeling, at this the High Street location kicks ass. If you want to experience Eugene, visit this place.
