Green Valley Grill

Nice upscale place to hang out, but crowd is generally older. The food is ok. Really, should be fantastic but their burger and fries are just adequate, Disagree with the review from ’Hussey’.... the burger is not the best in Gboro, Hops has that category covered. The fries are always burnt. Not great pub fare at all. The rest of the food is big on swank, not on being just solid, decent food. I drink the ’Origin’s martini when I’m there, which I enjoy, but I just dont drink beer there as it does not seem like a beersy kind of place. A little high class which you have to be in the mood for.

Green Valley Grill is a restaurant. This review is about the bar. There is a fantastic pair of bartenders that work there, Mark and Katie, who are total beer geeks. They have the usual macro offerings for folks but they always have something amazing on tap for aficionados. Next to the Guiness and XYZ, you could find a Mikkeller IPA, something crazy from Rogue or a seasonal offering from Left Hand. Mark has an eclectic selection of 22 oz. bombers close at hand also. He schooled me on doppelbocks with a bottle of Heavy Seas Plank II. Amazing brew. GVG, as we refer to it, is a restaurant within an upscale hotel. The bar food is fantastic, especially the Darn Good Burger (DGB).It is probably the best burger in Greensboro, if not the state of NC. Get it with the Parmesan Truffle Fries with Garlic aioli. A well kept secret that I’m sharing with you. Tell Mark and/or Katie that you enjoy good beers. They will hook you up.
