Tap room in the Newtown brewery, large open space with main bar, lively atmosphere and brightly decorated decor including a spray painted shipping container in the corner.

Nice big open industrial taproom in Newtown. Not so many beers on tap, and mostly from the core range, but the specials they had on at my visit were solid. Helpful bartender. Lots of restaurants nearby. Nice place to hit up if in Newtown.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. Very lively place with a sort of warehouse interior and somewhat of an English pub feel. 4 house beers on tap plus a cider. Beers were all typical boring English styles, cider was decent. Prices are reasonable for schooners. Tasting paddles weren’t available when we went due to the busyness but they’re generous with free samples. Worth a stop on a Newtown pub crawl but the beer quality itself is forgettable.

Visited on 3rd April 2016. Large typical brewery and taproom set up in a warehouse in Newtown. Plenty of room to relax in with a lot of space to sit down. Bit disappointed with the beer selection with only core range beers on. Last time I visited had some seasonals on. The staff did say they were swapping things around so will go back at some point. It’s decent enough but needed specials on to make it a reason to visit as the core beers are available all over town.

Friendly and large warehouse taproom and the heart of Newtown’s craft beer scene, which is to say it’s the heart of Sydney’s craft beer scene. Totally unpretentious place. Their flagship beer, the Newtowner, is dependable. The others can be hit or miss, but they seem to rotate their seasonals with a fair bit of frequency. Cool place.

Open taproom in back of Enmore Rd in Newtown. Typically brewery tap room vibe. Door is after some industrial stuff, so a bit hazardous during the day if there’s a keg delivery going on. House beers aren’t great save the two most basic ones - I like their lager the best. One of the casks was way off, so they didn’t test it before pouring. They have their seasonal products, and if you want to brave Australian pricing you can even buy product to go.

Latest visit on Thu Oct 14, 2015. Arrived about 12.15, left about 13.30. Very nice service. Had a paddle of four for $15. Not crowded this early.

Visited on July 11, 2013.
Took the train from Sydney Central to Newtown, had a printed map with me and was a fairly short walk to get there. Looks like an industrial type or even alley type area.
Entry to the brewery from a type of courtyard.
7 beers on tap, you may get a 4 or 6 tasting paddle if you want. I managed to get to sample all 7 for the price of a 6 beer sampler.
Met Matt, Dan and the head brewer who’s name escapes me since I’m bad with names and didn’t write it down.
Warm heater going that made me peel off some of my winter clothes.
The bar for tastings is set up right by the one side of the brewery, so you may watch them work as you sample your beers.
Nice and friendly blokes working there, all of them seem to work in/at the brewery as well, so easy to ask questions. No problems paying with either cash or card. I didn’t get any, but saw others come in to fill growlers. Don’t think you can eat here.
Got some advice on places to visit in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
Well worth getting the train out here for a visit!

Down a back street on the Enmore/Newtown border. Hard to find if you are not local. Great beer, noisy place. Early Saturday evening was buzzing. All the music was 80’s post-punk when we were there. We are all in our fifties so.......rock on!

We visited this microbrewery tap room on 14.2.2015. Located in the great district of Newtown, which has many great bars and restaurants. Next time I am in Sydney I will stay here over night. This is a real great beer place, nice brew house and real good tap room. Graffiti on the wall, nice T-shirts and great view to the brewery. They had around 6 beers on tap + 2 on the hand pump. The Hoppy Ale was my favorite one. Beers are more tasteful and more hoppy than the ones we had so far in Sydney. Also people quite nice, we got great recommendations for good beer bars and brewpubs in the area, people definitely love beer here. Best brewery we have visited so far in Australia.
