68 Little German market on E Chapman (that is, E of CA-55). I was sort of excited to come here mostly because I love me some German delicacies, and beer is cool too.
Tiny, cramped little shop. The deli counter is the main attraction here. All sorts of cold cuts and sausages. Some prepared salads as well (potato salad, for instance). There isn’t much room and the store isn’t set up all that well, so it’s hard to move around and check out the canned/boxed/jarred items on the shelves, but they have some sauces and seasonings, confections, canned fruits and such. Beer is mostly in two small coolers. I had a couple of rakes while I ate some Nuerenburg bratwurst. They also make some decent sandwiches here. You can sit at one of the cramped tables and enjoy the food and drink here. Prices are relatively decent...maybe higher than you’d pay at the grocery store but it’s a mom and pop shop. Not really a beer destination, but more kind of a local treat for some decent German deli treats and maybe a beer or two to go with it. Don’t come here expecting another version of Hollingshead. |
