Been here a few times over the years. Decent range usually available across cask, keg and bottle/can. Average pub service. The place itself has an interesting aesthetic, kind of like a big old house, maybe haunted. Really nice back garden area. This place is a little out of the way and not a destination, I wouldn't say. But if you're looking for a Hackney beer scene deep cut, this is an option.

Having once lived in Bethnal Green I often got the Number 38 bus home from the centre, with 'Clapton Pond' always its last destination. I never actually made it all the way until now, and this pub is just after the pond, which is quite a pleasant spot in the midst of urban London, with a fountain and ducks! As for the beer in this huge pub which has several rooms around a central bar, and expands greatly at its rear to include a large enclosed garden, offers up a mix of cask and keg with a worthy albeit not extensive crafted selection. Food is served here and one room is set-up directly for this. Used to be called the White Hart as this is still ingrained into the stonework of part of the pub. Also has some tables out front opposite the bus terminus.

Like most if not all Antic pubs building and furniture looks like ready to fall apart! Usually interesting beers on cask and keg plus a few bottles and cans. Food looked good.

Ramshackle looking place in between Hackney and Leyton. Handy stop between Cock Tavern and Brodies taphouse. Nice shabby chic feel, decent range of cask and keg beers well kept. Stopped for a Sunday lunch which I enjoyed. Prices not too bad. Worth a stop if you’re passing

Most recent visit on Easter Sunday, 05/04/15 around 1.45pm. From the outside you would be forgiven for thinking this place was closed down. A lumbering Victorian monolith, it has the air of a bomb damaged hotel from WWII ! Inside carries on a little from the exterior but not quite as worn. Tall ceilings, wooden floor, a mish mash of tables and chairs spread across 2 or 3 rooms with the bar centrally located as you enter, beer garden to the rear. The place was fair booming for Sunday lunch on our visit so we decided to get stuck in and I opted for the lamb. Xolid Sunday roast it was too, Yorkies and all the trimmings. Clientele was local family types and muso lookies plus a few urban seafarers. Service was really good here, prompt, friendly and efficient. At the business end 4 or 5 cask offerings including the likes of Revolutions, Ticketybrew and the local Hackney brewery, I went for a Kernel APA on keg. Some decent bottle picks also. Not a go to beer destination when in London but worth checking out if in the area. On the bus route that takes you from the Cock Tavern or Pembury Tavern to the King William IV (Brodies).

Stopped for a couple of beers with Seth a while back. I had a Magic Rock which was very expensive. The beer quality was good. . I really like the place but just wish it wasn’t so expensive. I’ll go back as it appears that prices could have changed judging from recent rates. Staff are cool and have to deal with a busy and dynamic crowd. Very cosy pub.

The Clapton Hart is a large, somewhat grand, stripped-back pub located in Hackney. Inside is large, high ceiling, multi-room pub & eating house filled with lots interesting furniture. It’s part of the ever improving Antic pub chain. There are 8 casks, 10 keg and about 40 bottles on offer. There is a clear London craft micro-focus (five points, Kernel, ELB etc) as well as some interesting international brews. I didn’t partake in food, but it looked rather delicious. All-round a great place to consume good beer.

Visited on 1/4-2013. Ryan from Siren told us we could have some of his beers here - so off we went :-) after waiting a bit for them to open, we entered this large, spacy pub. And what a place, reminded me a bit of something that use to be a hotel or something simular. Great atmosphere, cosy deco, lots of seatings, different chairs and tables, even pianos were used :-) lots of tingel tangel, could spend a lot of time just looking at stuff :-) but did also have time for a beer or 2, served in good condition by the friendly staff. Good range of beers. They do food as well, but I didn´t have anything this time. This is for sure a place I would love to visit again :-)

A pretty decent pub with an excellent selection of beers. When I went they had maybe nine handpumps and three or four By The Horns beers, and the two I tried were great. They had offerings from The Kernel, Red Willow and others in the fridge. My pints were £3.60 which I guess is fairly standard. The pub is massive - lots of sitting space. It’s had a slightly generic trendy makeover, with resulting shabby chic decor and random stuffed animal heads. The one problem is that the bar itself is really small and gets swamped when this pub is busy. Food looks OK, standard modern pub.
