72 Visited NYE but early (2-3pm), only a couple of people. Everybody much younger than me but music was tremendous (all punk, mostly very recent but I heard The Saints and The Stooges). The beer list is extensive and eye-wateringly expensive, even by Sydney standards. But I sat watching Oxford St. for a couple of hours and listened to some great music. Not a place to go for a session, just go for rare beer. |

70 Oxford St not as deserted as rumoured, and this place was busy on a weeknight mid evening. It is upstairs with windows over the street and the layout has an oddly Thai vibe. Friendly enough staff with their own approach to service (washed then wiped glasses, adjustable taps set to a trickle) - which I liked as much on principle as anything else. Evidently a quick turnover of beer - a couple of things came on while I was walking there. Greetings for regulars. Food seemed to be being ordered and delivered from offsite but I didn't eat. Good place. |
68 Many other beer bars in Oz feel like pubs but this is definitely more like a beer bar from back home. Varied list of oz and international brews on bottle and tap, but we ordered three beers and only one was good, other two were just meh. Staff was ok but definitely not too friendly. I am sure if I had better beers I might give it a bit higher rating but given other beer bars that are less hardcore seem to hit things better, I wasn’t massively massively impressed. |

80 Upstairs bar in the red light district of Sydney. Place is upstairs away from the chaos at street level. Very dark inside. Solid taplist of local Australian options. Chill place. Had a small outdoor area as well. |
88 Very cool low lit bar up a flight of stairs in Darlinghurst. 12 taps on including beers from Europe & Japan. The bottle list is mental, the best I’ve seen in Australia. 3F, Alvinne, De Molen and a whole lot more. Service is friendly & knowledgeable. It’s pricy but easily my fave bar so far in Sydney |
82 By far the coolest beer bar in Sydney. Sleek modern interior one flight up from the main drag in the gay neighborhood. You can bring in burgers from downstairs. Super chill vibe, great place to relax with a nice beer at the end of the evening. Good selection from smaller brewers plus some nerdy imports. Can’t miss. |
78 Nice place in Sydney. Great knowledge staff. Service was really good though we were there in the middle of the afternoon so who knows what it’s like when it’s busy. 12 or so Australian craft beers on tap plus a really extensive bottle list including lots of Belgian and American beers. Great place. |
70 Hard to find bar on a main road though town. A narrow stair to the first floor and you find this nice bar, low light, wood, dark leather, a small garden out back (smoking area) 10 taps mostly Australian beers, but also Alvinne, De Molen and Edge. No flights and as i just had time for 1 beer, i asked the barman for the best Aussie beer on. To be honest not a hit. Otherwise good service. Prices are quite high, but we are very central here. Should have a long bottle list, but didnt venture into that. |
