A few miles from my house. Slavic shop has 5-6 isles: snacks, canned fish, vodkas and liquors, jars of jellies and vegetables and ..... about 60 beers from Eastern Europe, and a nice deli. Yes, mostly for ticking off countries, but also for some interesting tasty food. Great prices.

As the other reviewers basically indicate, you go here for Eastern Europe / old USSR beers that you'll never find anywhere outside of Eastern Europe / the old USSR (I've been to Lithuania, Russia and Ukraine and except for Obolon, I haven't seen the beers from those countries they had here, let alone the multiple Armenian selections). Don't get me wrong, most of this stuff is probably Eastern European Blue Moon or Amber Bock equivalent, but you won't see this stuff too many other places, so it's worth a stop just for that reason. Can't go too high here though just because there's nothing else and I can say from personal experience that there is some legit good craft beer in most of these countries. Place itself is basically an ethnic grocery store in a strip mall, so it won't score highly on the intangibles. It's fine for what it is though and I'm sure if I were really into Russian cuisine, I would love this place. Reasonable prices though.

Almost forgot to rate this one. Stopped in looking for new country ticks, came up empty handed. Beer is on one long shelf on the right side as you enter, plus a bit in a single cooler on the right as well. Decent selection of Russian and eastern European stuff, but unfortunately no hits for me. Definitely some stuff I haven’t seen before. There were several Kvasses in PET bottles in the fridge as well if that is your thing. I honestly did not check out the food offerings. From a RateBeer perspective, come here for Eastern European ticks, thats about tit.

I understand why this is here (to get some country ticks) but it probably shouldn’t be. I feel bad for giving this place a low rating since it’s not a liquor store, rather a specialty grocery/convenience store. On one shelf they have a few bottles, not a lot but maybe a dozen from various eastern European countries. On another shelf they have a large selection of kvass plastic bottles. I couldn’t tell you what any of them are called but here is a crappy cell phone picture:

The service was friendly and the prices on the kvass were low. Prices on the beer were average. I don’t see myself stopping back in here for beer but if I decide that I need some special Russian food I’d come back if in the area (not likely).
