62 New name for the Growler USA Redmond location, but more or less the same exact place when it comes to beer. The food menu seems to have changed a little. I stopped in yesterday to check out the new place. Bright, decent sized restaurant on the bottom floor of a large living space. I suppose this would be a decent place to have in the basement of my living situation. Between beer, wine, cider, kombucha, and other things I might not even know about, they have 100 taps. Even with a selection that large, it seems to be a bunch of uninspired offerings. A beer lover like myself with any time at all behind the hobby has probably tried all the beers they have available. They have quite a selection, but don't offer any sort of flight option, which is annoying to me. If you don't live upstairs, and have to drive to a place like this, I can only try 1 or 2% of the beers you offer on my trip. Annoying to me, but probably not all that unusual. Service was good overall. Probably a little too attentive though. We were sitting at the bar, and the staff was just lingering a foot away behind the bar, and seemed like they were listening in on our conversations. Awkward, and a bit frustrating. The food menu is limited, but looks pretty good. For the average person, this is probably a fun stop, with what appears to be a massive selection, but if you are looking to tick some beers, this probably isn't a place to stop in. I'll likely come back someday. They do live music and trivia events. A couple pints and an event like that seems like a good time here. |
