Astra St. Pauli Brauerei

Visited 18/10/2019. Big place, in what is quite a seedy street, this visit was on a Friday lunchtime and it was pretty quiet. Went for their taster flight, beers were ok but nothing special. Nice views of the brewing equipment behind the bar. Service was ok, chap doing the brewing was friendly. Bought one of the taster glasses as a souvenir (jokingly said to the barman you must get a lot of these stolen and was told people try but we chase after them - and I can believe that!).

Big location on Reeperbahn, atmospheric, dark and modern with a "cool" vibe. Tanks right behind the bar, small brewery from Astra, beers only available here. Average beers but a tasting board with 5 beers for 7.50€ is fair.

Last visit at our Hamburg brewery crawl around 22:30 on a saturday night - big mistake. Crowded, LOUD, hot, youngsters out partying, a band playing old rock'n'roll. About 5 or 6 beers on tap, no flights (maybe due to how busy the place was) Managed 3 beers (wich wasnt very good) before i gave in to the noise. Service was ok, but rushed. Fair prices. Should have visited as first place in the afternoon, and might do that for a rerating if in Hamburg again.

Industrial ambiance in the famous Reeperbahn area. Good food and special beers from Hamburg's brewery Astra that are only available here.

Microbrewery von Astra. 5-7 Taps, die es nur hier gibt. Dazu die Astra Standards. Taster mit 5 für 7,5€ echt ok. Essen ist frisch und lecker. Sollte man in Hamburg mal vorbei schauen.
