I really liked this place, I popped into the cafe where the atmosphere was like a coffee shop but the staff were nice and the 800 yen tasting set was good value. They had many of their beers on offer: Yuzu Kahori, Kazamatsuri Stout, Pils, Ale, Brown. I guess they had leftovers from fall-lucky me! Solid beers, worth a stop if in the area.

Didn’t go to the restaurant here, but over the road is a big fishy supermarket type thing and they have three taps available and a small drinking area. They also had five bottles (admittedly only two different ones from the taps). Prices are ok. Takeaway bottles ¥525. Drinking on site is in two sizes of plastic cup, round about ¥400 and ¥500. Can’t remember exactly. Given that I was drinking in a fish supermarket and had heard not so much good stuff about the beers, I was really pleasantly surprised. It was kind of fun to pop in, have the three beers on tap and then get the others to take away. Really easy to get to from Odawara or Hakone Yumoto too. Seems to be one of the few places you can actually buy Hakone beer in the Hakone area bizarrely.

Visited in January 2012 with Tim Maloney and Chewy. Restaurant and bar, with seated tables outside. It’s got a bit of a feel to it like those Japanese branded family restaurants, and has about 3 or 4 of the Hakone beers on tap and a shop selling a few more of the beers. So not really atmospheric. More of a daytime place to visit. I bought a selection pack of five beers. They also have seasonal beers available at different times of year. Yuzu beer when I was there.

Right across from the station there is a restaurant and a separate little shop selling Hakone Beer on tap and in cans. The resturant has an all you can eat and drink for about ¥3200, and the food looks good. Only three beers usually available, Pils (good), Ale (not so), and a seasonal. We stopped in the store and tried the three. If you are in the area, should be good to eat and drink here, otherwise, probably not worth a special trip. Very fast by train from Odawara.

When we (me and me wife) went there, the restaurant part was closed, but they have a shop with a taphouse corner, that serves beers. The bartender/lady was very friendly. They had can/bottles to buy/bring. Not that cozy, but you can taste or buy the beers.
