UPDATED: AUG 11, 2021 Hazy brown with floaties and a white head. Aroma is nutty, woody, cherries, brown sugar, vanilla and molasses. Taste is heavy sweet and light bitter. Heavy body, oily feel with soft carbonation.

2016 Release; Sampled September 2016 A steady pour produces a one-finger thick, pale amber tinged, tan colored head. The beer is a concentrated red color that shows a red-amber hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells of a fruity oak, lots of vanillin and coconut, toasted oak staves, warming alcohol, spicy-peppery oak notes. At times the spicy oak can accentuated the warm alcohol and make the nose a bit overwhelming. The aroma is an interesting mix of rich fruit, toasted oak, and dense, lightly aged maltiness. Rich textured, viscous, dense, and chewy, with a lightly prickly carbonation. The finish tastes of vanilla laden peaches, lots of vanillin actually, toasted sweetened coconut, lightly woody flavors, and a light oak spiciness, some tart cherries, touches of leather and tobacco, and a lingering herbal and bitter note from the amply aged hop character. There seems to be a touch of dark toasted malt towards the finish, makes me wonder if that is brought out by the oak character. The beer numbs my palate a bit somehow, and with a cherry flavor it could remind me a bit of cough syrup, though it is not nearly as objectionable as that sounds. This is definitely a sipping beer, I like how rich and decadent it is, it is very enjoyable in small sips. This is strongly oak influenced, yet it is balanced by the rich fruit character and dense beer flavors. Quite tasty, and quite enjoyable.

Kolor: Mocno miedziany, błotnisty kolor. Jak wigilijny babciny kompot z suszu. Pod światło sporo rubinowych refleksów.
Piana: Absolutny brak piany. Zaszumiało, zasyczało i piana w tempie karabinu maszynowego zniknęła z powierzchni. Nie pozostał po niej najmniejszy ślad. Przy przechylaniu do TeKu na próżno szukać choćby pojedynczej kropeczki.
Zapach: W mordę jeża! Od groma wanilii. Tego się zupełnie nie spodziewałem. Sporo nut mokrego drewna, dębowych desek oraz owoców. Brzoskwinie zdecydowanie górują nad wiśniami. Pojawia się także akcent mandarynek i skórek pomarańczy. Po ogrzaniu wychodzi na powierzchnię kapka nut karmelu, toffi i ciemnych owoców kandyzowanych. Słodki, przyjemny, dość intensywny aromat.
Smak: Smak to już jest poezja. Wystarczy tylko odrobinę zanurzyć usta w tych nektarze, aby przenieść się do innego świata. Jest to festiwal smaków i różnorodność elementów. Piwo ma wiele poziomów wtajemniczenia. Otwiera się powoli niczym kwiat. Najpierw słodycz miodu wielokwiatowego, karmelu, toffi, cukru brązowego. Potem lawina słodkich owoców. Ile tego tutaj jest! Brzoskwinie, morele, jabłka, wiśnie, czereśnie, marmolada śliwkowa, dżem z fig. W kolejnych łykach przemawia do zmysłów wysokie utlenienie. Zaznaczają swoją obecność daktyle, rodzynki, ponownie miód. Nieprawdopodobnie gęste jak ten dżem owocowy. Potężna słodycz kieruje już Otto na tory ulepka. Coż za mistrzowskie ukrycie 13% alko. Nieziemsko pijalne, a zarazem wybitnie degustacyjne. Otto po prostu mnie zaczarował!

Podsumowanie:
Po ostatnio wypitym Fredzie nie mialem wysokich wymagań w stosunku do tego piwa. I jak pięknie się zdziwiłem kiedy poczułem wielowarstwowość i głęboki profil smakowy tego trunku. Może aromat aż tak nie powalał, ale smakowo to jedno z najlepszych Barley Wine jakie piłem.

2016 bottle. The beer pours a slightly cloudy dark amber color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lace. Aroma of oak, dark fruit, malt and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, caramel malt, raisin and slight hops. The finish is oaky with a dark fruit and malt aftertaste. Good beer overall.

Aroma is full of dark caramel, ripped fruits, cherry, some toffee and raisins, slightly oaky. Insanely drinkable with nice fruity accents, heavy sweet.
