UPDATED: FEB 14, 2020 Very solid eisbock base, blueberry is significant and on top. A couple years on. Bigger mouthfeel. A good beer, but pricey.juice.

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2019 2017 500ml bottle. Pours a very dark red and nearly purple in color with very little bubbles at the head that fades away quickly. The aroma shows notes of rich blueberry, vanilla cream, cheesecake, toasted caramel, lager yeast, and a hint of booze. The flavor follows suit with note sweet of rich blueberry syrup, vanilla cream, and toasted caramel up front to go with notes of lager yeast, dark fruits, and malt sweetness with a touch of booze. Medium bodied and slick on the palate with barely any carbonation that leads to a rich, blueberry syrup, dark fruit, toasted caramel, and vanilla on the finish with lingering notes of alcohol warmth. Really delicious stuff. The blueberry works perfectly with the eisbock base.

2017 bottle purchased at Kuhnhenn. Pours clear purple to brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of malt, blueberry and caramel. Sweet malt and blueberry syrup flavor with caramel and alcohol accents before a blueberry finish.

2018 Great Taste of the Midwest It was a very pleasant discovery to find that Kuhnhenn, tucked away in the far corner of the festival, brought their A game which included three versions of their eisbocks. This one might not quite be on par with the raspberry version but even so I could drink it all day until the 15% ABV caught up with my system. AROMA / APPEARANCE Pureed and half frozen blueberry pulp fills the glass with a warm foundation. The strong malty essence hangs in the air like a fog of fruity haze. FLAVOR / PALATE The essence of pure blueberry slams the senses with a singular purpose. There's less depth than many other beers but a beer this focused does not need much more. The chewy boozy finish allows it to last long after each sip. An excellent eisbock makes me wish I'd had them on my short list from the beginning of the afternoon.

Bottle share @ DLD 2018. Pour is brown/purple with a very small off-white head. Notes of blueberry syrup, graham cracker crust, burnt caramel, brown sugar, and toffee.

Refrigerated 12.7 oz. brown 2017 bottle with blue wax poured into a snifter. Black with small beige head. Aroma is blueberry, medium body, some carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is dark fruit, blueberry, and some booze. At $35 a bottle there is no reason for me to buy another one.

Thanks Gregg for sharing the bottle! Poured into a snifter showing deep amber with no head. The nose shows moderately intense notes of concentrated blueberry jam. The palate is light carbonated and full bodied. Moderately blueberry jam with a strong alcoholic bite and a lot of blueberry on the finish.

CBS vertical tasting @ Tim's. Thank you for sharing Gregg! Pours dark red violet, no real carbonation. Nose has basically pure thick wild blueberry jam. Syrupy and I might think it's mead just by judging by the nose. Taste is boozy, booze hiding blueberry, some spices and bitterness coming out then and leasing to dry and long bitter finish. Blueberry seeds and skins coming out in the finish. Maybe would need a bit more time but well, nothing to complain about, still a super unique experience.

Deep purple color with no head. Sweet blueberry jam, roses and strawberries in the nose. Liquid berry jam. Blueberry licorice sweet malty, very smooth and rounded. Perfect dessert beer. Just perfect and never too sweet or cloying and alcohol is so well hidden. Low carbonation. Perfect

Bottle to snifter. Pours a murkey unattractive reddish brown. Almost no head. Aroma opens up after a few minutes. Blueberry and pie crust notes. Light vanilla. Keeps getting better with every sniff. Soft. Taste is like a vanilla covered blueberry pie. Wowe. Light warming but not hot in the finish. Mid palate is where is where it really shines. The fruit just pops. A light carbonation keeps the beer soft on the tongue. I must say this beer is grate. In celebration of my promotion.
