COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fresh, ripe red raspberries and orange blossom honey make this well-balanced mead leave you wanting glass after glass. As the first mead ever made by Ken Schramm, renowned author of The Compleat Meadmaker, raspberry mead holds a special place in our heart, and our cellar. Among the most long-lived of melomels, Schramm’s Raspberry will age well for ten years or more. Enjoy with grilled salmon or a slice of rhubarb pie.

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2021 750ml thanks to Kenny. It pours darkest red - purple with a minimal head. The aroma is sweet, juicy, tangy, bright, raspberry jam, jam rolly polly, honeyed fruits, blackcurrant coridal, cherry and juiiiice. The taste is slick, juicy, tangy, honeyed berries, rapsberry, fruit coridal, boozy warmth, thick and slick, rapsberry pip, kick of acidity, granny smith apple, vinous, victoria sponge cake, bramble gummy candy and some dryness with slick, sweet - sour finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and slick mouth feel. Balanced, juicy and straight jam.

juiceisloose (3665) - Windermere, Florida, USA - APR 24, 2021
UPDATED: APR 24, 2021 375 ml bottle. Pours a very dark red almost purple in color and still with a nice legging that clings to the glass. The aroma shows loads to fresh, jammy raspberry, lightly tart dark fruit, floral honey and some residual sugar. Loads of ripe raspberry in the nose though. The flavor follows with the fresh, ripe raspberry, jammy fruit, and lightly tartness up front to go with the floral honey sweetness and just a touch of warmth on the back end. Nearly full bodied and smooth with no carbonation that leads to a rich, fruity raspberry and floral honey sweetness on the finish. Really nice and tasty mead here from Schramms but I expect nothing less.

Rudzud (92) - Cherry Valley, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 9, 2020
UPDATED: FEB 9, 2020 Shared with JLindros. I forget the batch number of this but the bottl HAS to be ~4+ years old. Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark ruby almost garnet with a still appearance. The aroma just explodes with bright, fruity, slightly seedy red raspberries and bright floral sweet orange blossom honey. Taste is similar to the nose with TONS of bright, seedy, fruit raspberry jam flavour. The sweetness comes frmo both the fruit as well as the honey that stays thick throughout. The finish is lingering honey sweetness as well as fruit notes. Incredibly straight forward and well executed. Mouthfeel is almost thick and luscious, still, alcohol hidden wonderfully. Delicious raspberry mead. Serving Type: bottle

slowrunner77 (19086) - Reno, Nevada, USA - JAN 6, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2020 Another fruited mead, another home run from Schramm's. Slightly sweet leaning as far as the honey/tart fruit combo, but I like the balance. Floral and thick, smooth, this crimson/purple elixr was a joy to sip.
