Sample at ZBF 2015, thanks everybody for sharing today’s beers! APPEARANCE: black beer, small unstable beige head. NOSE: chocolate, mocha, alcohol, oak, some bourbon. TASTE: chocolate, mocha, alcohol, oak, some bourbon. At moments like this you realize that Struise still got it! A pilsener, wtf?

(draught) black in colour with a frothy beige head. aroma of earth, yeast slurry and toffee, with a light hint of smoked ham, beef jerky and floral hops. flavour is mostly oysters, brown sugar and alcohol, with some notes of roasted malts, oak, soy sauce, earth and a light roasted-bitter finish. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation.

25/04/2015 @ ZBF shared with tderoeck, 77ships, PriorL and kraddel. Black colour, tanned head. Roasted, some hops, caramel, chocolate, dark fruits, licorice.

Black colour, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, caramel, light chocolate. Bitter malty flavour, light sweet, roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, toast, mocha. Bitter finish, coffee, liquorice, laurierdrop. Nice!

Sample from draft at ZBF 15, poured a pitch black colour with a mocha coloured head. This was Some icebock version what they’ve told me. Notes of very dark roasted malts, dark coffee, licorice, dark fruits, ’speculaas’, dark sweet bakers chocolate, the alcohol is def. noticeable, but it’s very enjoyable. Very thick and chewy mouthfeel. Very Nice

Fast schwarzes Bier mit sehr wenig Schaum. Geruch schokoladig, reife Früchte, Vanille. Geschmack kräftig schokoladig, Vanille, reife Früchte, nur leicht alkoholisch.

Dunkel süßlich malziger Antrunk herb süßlich. Rund malzig, ausgewogen, karamellig, vollmundig. 8/11/10/11//11

Shared with wim at Zythos bierfestival 2015. Black colored beer with small brownish head and no carbonation visible. Hopped malty aroma. Finish is hopped bitter malty sweet hints.

From tap. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty and light chocolate. Sweet, roasted, dark malty and chocolate. Breadish and roasted dry into a bitter and dense chocolate finish.
