UPDATED: JAN 30, 2021 It pours dark brown with a slight bit of clouding. The head is light brown. Head retention is low. A strong rich malt blend of caramel, toffee, and nuts to start. There is a bit of sweetness in the nose with black cherry and a bit of cherry pipe tobacco. There are hints of dark fruits. The flavors are caramel, toffee, dark cherry, nuts to start. There is a bit of sweetness with some dark fruit and alcohol. It also has a low wood note plus some vinous qualities. It has a full almost chewy body and smooth alcohol warming. Overall, a very complex blend of flavors and aromas. An absolute pleasure to drink.

UPDATED: SEP 5, 2020 Bottle from Uptown Spirits. Thought this was my last in the whole series to tick but NOOOOOOOO somehow I missed XVI, WTF, time for another expensive online order. Darkest brown with a light beige head. Aroma is anise, roast, sticky toffee, bourbon soaked raisins, This is a more stouty blend than most, with flavors more dark chocolate, anise, roast, backed up by toffee and molasses, maple syrup. Medium sweet without much bitterness. Full body, maybe a little more so than your average Firestone anni beer. Very nice as always for this series.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2020 August 23, 2020 - bottle picked up from Niche years ago to celebrate another wedding anniversary. Dark pour with limited head. Aroma was bourbon, sweet caramel, roasted malt and chocolate. Taste was very sweet with a touch of heat and smoke, also had some dark fruit that I didn't get in the aroma.

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2020 Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a glass. Dark brown with medium beige head. Aroma is oak, medium body, medium lively carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is oak, liquor, and roasted malt.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2020 Bottle from my cellar. Ebony pour, small soft ring of beige head. Sweet roasty aroma. Taste is sweet, milky, chocolate with an afterglow. Incredibly smooth.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2019 22 oz bottle from beer junction. Vintage three years. Nice and blended. Mostly tastes like a barley wine. Notes of fig, cinnamon, nutmeg And burnt brown sugar.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2019 Pours inky black and needs a vigorous pour to form a compact tan head that dissipates quickly; wonderful aromas of port and vanilla and oak and burnt sugar on the nose; silky mouthfeel with deep, complex, and lengthy finish.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2019 22oz bottle pours a very dark brown, thin off white head. Nose has caramel brown sugar, marzipan. Flavors of butterscotch, booze, toffee chews. Full bodied, boozy finish.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2019 12/24/18 (Las Vegas): Anniversary XX Firestone Walker bottled 10/11/16, shared the bomber with brother David as his gift, poured into snifter glasses. Black pour with light tan head. Light bourbon aroma, roasted malts as well. Bourbon the predominant taste, wine, dark chocolate and roasted malt round the very balanced taste out. Light, sweet mouth feel, somewhat creamy, easy drinking. Overall very good offering, thanks for sharing!

Bottle: Poured a dep burgundy color ale with a large brown head with OK retention and some light lacing. Aroma of light roasted malt and black chocolate notes with some pretty intense woody notes and vanilla and bourbon notes also clearly distinguishable. Taste is a complex and immensely enjoyable mix of woody notes with some vanilla and bourbon, some black chocolate notes with light residual sugar notes and light alcohol warming notes. Body is pretty full with good carbonation with some alcohol notes apparent. Another great anniversary beer from this fine brewery.
