UPDATED: JAN 19, 2021 Bottle. A- Juniper, caramel, subtle whisky. A- Copper color, hazy liquid, no head. T- Juniper, whisky, caramel, caraway, mild dark fruit. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish. O- My first gruit and I loved it although I didn't take as good notes as I'd wished since I was so excited for Utopias up next. Lots of juniper and herbal notes. Almost like a whisky barrel gin in a way. I enjoyed this one. Would like to try more gruit now.

ABV: 12.3%. Clear medium orange amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, pale malt, caramel, fruity malt, caraway (kommen), dried fruit, juniper, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, dried fruit, juniper, caraway, sweet malt, sweet malt - bourbon. Body is medium to medium full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20180807]

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2020 Splendida. Di base sembra un barley wine, color ambra marrone, molto torbida. No schiuma. Aroma intenso da birra di meditazione, sentori importanti di toffee, caramello, unite a erbe e spezie. Al palato continua nella sua interessante complessità. Dolce con finale appena amaricante, molto speziata, anice, sentori erbacei, rosmarino, anice, ginepro? Molto corposa, viscosa. Alcolica con bassa carbonazione.

UPDATED: JUN 27, 2020 Pici, azonnal elillanó hab, vörösesbarna szín. Karamelles, köményes, bourbonos, hordós illat. Karamelles, égetett cukros, fűszeres, enyhén köményes ízek, komoly hordós, vaníliás, bourbon whiskey-s aromákkal. Testes, édes, enyhén szénsavas, közepesen keserű. Érdekes és izgalmas fűszerezés, de nem igazán nyerte el a tetszésemet.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2020 Aus der Flasche (bbe 06.12.2020) im 2020-02 getrunken. Dieses fast schwarze Bier hat ein deutliches Kräuter/Gewürzen Aroma welches von den typischen Aromen eine Bourbon Barrel Reifung getragen wird. Dahinter kommen nach kurzer Zeit dann deutliche BarleyWine Aromen durch. Am Gaumen sind die Eindrücke sehr ähnlich und die Aromen überraschen mit einer wunderbaren Harmonie. Sicher kein altägliches Bier aber ein richtig tolles. Prost!

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2019 Bottle thanks to Santa doug pours out cola brown topped with a small tan head. Nose is great sweet malts spice bourbon barrel booze vanilla. Taste is more of the nice sweet honey bourbon barrel booze rich malts and spices.
