UPDATED: AUG 16, 2019 330ml bottle (Bacchanalia, Cambridge) (7+:4+7:4:14+=3.6+++) Black, tan tight head. Spicy aroma, big roast too. Slight tarry somkiness. Full palate, pleasant carbonation, not heavy at all. Big roasty taste, tons of spicy hops - galaxy gives the throb, and citra the zing - an excellent use of hops. Almost IBA levels of hopping. Roasty zingy finisg - lovely!

Leighton (30699) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 13, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 13, 2019 Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up a while back at the brewery. Enjoyed while watching the baby nap. Pours black with a dense, frothy beige topping. Loads of fresh, bitter coffee in here, lots of earth, ash, woody dryness, bittersweet dark chocolate, nips of raisins. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation and velvety texture. Finishes with moderate warmth, lots more dry, ashy roast bitterness, charcoal, coffee grinds, baking cocoa. Rich and toothy, the beer keeps revealing additional layers as you work through it - but there's always a strong bitterness in the aftertaste to clean things up. Exceptional.
