UPDATED: DEC 9, 2020 Growler. Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma of honey dew, spicey herbal hops, a mineralic twang, white bread. Taste is rather bitter, loads of herbal hops, slight touch of grass, flowery, dry finish. Elegant.

HippyHop (1187) - Quebec, CANADA - AUG 16, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 16, 2019 On tap at the brewery. I'm doing this from memory since the service is spotty at HF (probably intentional). I remember honey and cereal malt, some oaky notes, noble hops. I also remember thinking this is the prettiest beer I've ever seen. A slight swirl of the glass and the cap revives to a full inch of foam. Smooth texture, soft carbonation. I've never had a true krausened lager but I feel like this is exactly what one should taste like.

PhillyCraft (11988) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 31, 2019
UPDATED: JUL 31, 2019 4-5 mugs at Hill Farmstead. Pours a clear dark golden with massive creamy head. Notes are dry grass, crisp Earth, spicy Saaz, and beautiful lager yeast. Had to decide if I liked this or Poetica 2 better, tough choice, both are insanely good. Reminds me of a softer Victory Hip Czech with more flavor and body from the oak/krausening. Makes me want to pump off

jc1762 (2353) - JAPAN - JUL 29, 2019
UPDATED: JUL 30, 2019 Lager glass showing pale amber with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows lightly intense clean lager malts with notes of raisins on warming up. The palate is well carbonated and light bodied with a clean mouthful. Malt forward with a light tartness and light notes of wood.

AdamChandler (5974) - Enfield, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 5, 2019
UPDATED: JUL 5, 2019 Draft at the brewery. Golden yellow. Grainy aroma cereal, grass and rye aroma. Flavor oh man.its the light crisp flavor that goes down so easily. I was hot an sweaty from riding my dirt bike all morning an I roll into Hill and down the thing in 2 minutes flat and ordered another. Grassy, lemon, peach, cherry all faint earthy fruits with rye and bread dough.

UPDATED: DEC 19, 2018 My Bottom Line:
Grassy herbs sit upon bouncy haystacks, as wooden suggestions lend depth to a super cuddly mouthfeel. Oh my.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A dollop of foam bobs atop the gleaming golden.
-The barrel-conditioning job is simply perfect. Just a touch of wood, tons of natural character texture-wise.
-The mouthfeel is out of this world. As soft and natural as can be, just like the best Czech Svetly’s when served on tap (although less protein-rich).
-This is one of the most compelling lagers I’ve had this side of the Atlantic.

On tap at the brewery tasting room.
