COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

DDH Brut Imperial Lager

A colossal beer that seamlessly transcends rigid style barriers in one fluid motion. Brewed in collaboration with one of world’s best brewers, Cloudwater, it is an imperial lager that employs brut-style brewing techniques and combines it with double intensity (~40g/L pellet equivalent) cold side hopping with the highest quality hops we can find. With a measured finishing gravity of 0 plato and 100% apparent attenuation, using Bavarian lager yeast fermented cold, this beer is as dry and clean as it gets and has near zero residual sugar. Massive dry-hopping with a heady combination of Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe and Loral lupulin delivers a powerful tropical nose and a lush juicy mid-palate before a crisp and satisfying dry finish takes over and prepares you for the next sip. At 8%, it is sure to deliver a powerful kick that is as hoppy as it is stealthy. Drink it and be water, my friend.

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2019 Can. Pours deep, opaque golden with white head. Nose is slightly resinous, more fruity and foral hops, some honey notes. Taste is fruity hops up front, then some super slight booze and an interesting character appear, this latter I associate with the enzyme used in brut beers. Closes with moderately dry, longlastin fruity, somewhat bitter finish, has medium body and average carbo. Tasty, but doesn’t really seem like a lager.

UPDATED: MAY 28, 2019 Can at a tasting. Loads of exotic citrusy resiny hoppiness throughout the character. High carbonation, moderate body. Feeling like a crisp juicy kicking IPA. I do not see the point in this being a lager, but whatever, it is pretty excellent. Easy drinking, very tasty.

drjoeng (2228) - SINGAPORE - MAR 10, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 10, 2019 8%ABV. Lager. Tapped out gold. 6 °SRM. Nose has aromas of soursop, guava, ripe grapefruit, passion fruit. Pinous aromas of pine, cedar, spruce. When concentrated, there is a good spicy body to the nose that suggests pine oil and pine resin. Mouthfeel is juicy and full. Palate has flavors of crackers and light toast. Hop flavors are pine needles, spruce tips, Japanese cedar foliage, grapefruit peel on tail end with an citrus oil finish. Finish is medium long with sappy bitter. It is also boozy, spicy, sweet with an bitter woody palate that suggests incense or sandalwood water. Overall, the dry hopping and ABV masked any lager character which made me wonder what the entire excercise was about. An enjoyable beer to be sure, but still scratching my head about the intent.

jmgreenuk (16022) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - MAR 2, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 2, 2019 Tap at 3rd Culture, Maxwell Food Court, Singapore. Poured a hazy golden colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is grainy malt, yeasty, woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light, crisp, fresh, yeasty, diacetyl, floral dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Nice but not as good as I expected.
