UPDATED: AUG 7, 2021 16 oz. can from Total Wine, Scottsdale, AZ. Pours a clear gold color with a bright white head and very good retention. Decent lacing. A light grainy aroma and not much else. As advertised, it tastes like a pilsner lite. Lightly bitter pilsner malt with a clean, crisp mouthfeel. Medium-light body. Nothing special, just a good light summer beer.

FlacoAlto (4421) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - JAN 17, 2021
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2021 This has tall shoes to fill being named Zona Pilsner; I am thinking of the long defunct Cowboy Brewing with the line of Zona beers that were so good. A steady pour produces a one finger thick, white colored head. The beer is a bright, brilliantly clear, pale golden color that shows a watered down golden hue when held up to the light; this is really pale for a craft Pilsner. This has a clean, pale malt note (nutty, hints of toasted straw, honey like grain) and kiss of hop character (lightly spicy, hints of herbal lemon zest). The aroma is definitely subtle, but still well done. Light bodied, crisp, clean and refreshing, the carbonation provides a touch of effervescence, though could be a bit more, it does match the light body that manages to not be watery thin. Spicy hop notes, crisp bitterness, touches of herbal notes, This is a very light beer, well compared to many a craft example of a Pilsner. It is very well made though, tasty with all the right flavors, just at a lower level than I might prefer. Definitely trying to tow the line between the Light-Beer drinker and the Craft beer drinker, and it actually manages to tow that line pretty well.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2020 Sampled from the tap at the Mesa brewpub. Pours a clear light straw yellow with a white head that dissipates completely. Aroma has straw and sweet grains with a touch of grass underlying. Flavor is similar mainly sweet grains and straw with a touch of grass backing.

superspak (9600) - Greensboro, North Carolina, USA - AUG 31, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 31, 2019 Got in a trade with AZBeerDude72. 12 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 5/17/2019. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. A bit fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malts and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great robustness and balance of pale malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance; and no astringent hop flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.3%. Overall this is a delicious Bohemian pilsner. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, refreshing and fairly crisp/clean to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Nicely soft feel, and not aggressive. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Great clean pils malt showcase, with nice noble hop presence/balance. Mild residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.
