thegreenrooster (6180) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - JAN 2, 2022UPDATED: JAN 2, 2022 Pour is a dark brown with a large white head. Aorma is nutmeg and brown sugar. Flavor is more nutmeg with some dark cherry and a sweet spice. Decent beer, not overly flavorful but a nice sweeter warming spice.
DrSilverworm (11039) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 20, 2021UPDATED: DEC 20, 2021 12oz can from Arrow - Mason, split with Heather. Not seeing a date on the can. Up front, brown sugar comes through big and nicely, toasty malt, some maple. Moderate sweet taste, light to moderate bitter, little bitey edge. Medium-plus body, soft carbonation, light slick. OK winter ale, not crazy about it. Kind of sugary and heavy. Not bad, but compared to my favorite of this season so far, Wolf Ridge's Home for the Holidays there's a noticeable gap of cohesiveness, balance and nuance. For what it's worth, Heather liked this a lot better than the spice beer we had before this though, Victory's Merry Monkey, whereas I liked that better.
Chudwick (4684) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - DEC 26, 2019UPDATED: DEC 26, 2019 Pint at source - first impression: an Amber ale with a strong malt bill and aggressively hopped for balance. Easy going down.
alexsdad06 (16451) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - NOV 27, 2018UPDATED: NOV 27, 2018 Draft to taster in a flight at 16 Lots. Pours a dark copper brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, some Christmas spices but not overdone, light roasted, lightly nutty, this is a good winter warmer.
