COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cherry lambic with minimum fruit intensity 350g/L. Oude Kriek 3 Fonteinen is produced by ripening of cherries (both the flesh and the seeds) in young Lambic. This process takes between 6 to 8 months. After bottling the beer matures for at least 4 months in a warm room where the spontaneous fermentation in the bottle is done. The head of Oude Kriek is very sensitive to the concentration of the cherry seeds containing oil and may differ from one year to the other. On old Cherry 3 Fonteinen, no flavorings, sweeteners, or dyes added which makes this beer very natural and is especially thirst quenching.

MarkoNm (5204) - Novo mesto, SLOVENIA - DEC 21, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 21, 2021 Bottle. Clear ruby red, tiny white head, nonlasting. Raspberry nose with lots of rubber, a bit tart. Nice puckery sourness, not too much. Tart in the finish. Light and fresh. Really drinkable.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2021 Pours a tinted crimson, minimal head to speak of. Sweet funky cherries on the nose, phenols, barnyard and horse. This thing assembles nicely after a big sour punch in the face, light funky woodiness throughout marries well with the dominant cherry. Dry and spritzy finish. They managed to walk a tightrope of big sourness without astringency or vinegar.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2021 Assemblage n.85 - Seizoen 18/19 ABV: 6.8% Aroma of cherry, with fruity esters, funk barnyard and peppery notes. Pours cloudy ruby, fizzy head, white with a pink hue, which dissipated quickly. No lacing. Very sour, but balanced by cherry sweetness. Cherry is chewy and obvious. Spicy notes, funky background, all elegantly blended with cherry notes. Great balance. Light body, high carbonation, easy to drink, no harsh character or vinegar pungency. Classic oude kriek, a lovely, spicy and not overly sour version. Top.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2021 Poured from a 375 ml bottle dated April 18, 2019. Aroma is moderately cherry forward with a cherry pie note and hints of cinnamon. Light notes of tannins and earthy, herbal phenolics. Light oak notes and a hint of alcohol. Faint grain notes. Pours a fairly clear, brilliant purplish red with a small, moderately thick, slightly pink head that recedes quickly to the edges where it lingers for a bit. No lacing and small legs. Flavor is fairly acidic with a slight sharpness to it. Light sweetness and light grain notes. Low bitterness and light alcohol notes. Quite a bit of cherry character with lots of cherry pie and light cinnamon notes. Light cherry skin tannins and hints of earthy, herbal phenolics. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid kriek. Perhaps a touch acidic and sharp, but the cherry character is really nice. The oak character is faint but adds some nice complexity.

375 ml bottle dated June 11th, 2013. Aroma dominated by lots of juicy cherry character with a hint of sweetness. Medium acidity with a light barnyard character and hints of herbal, earthy notes. Pours a slightly murky, dull red with ruby and light brown hues and a big pink head that quickly disappears. No lacing and faint legs. Flavor is fairly juicy with quite a bit of bright cherry notes, but is fairly dry with only a hint of sweetness. Medium acidity, mostly lactic with a hint of citrus. Light oak notes and tannins. Light barnyard notes and herbal character. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall a really nice, juicy kriek with a lot of cherry notes. I think I like them with a bit more age though as its adds some nice funkiness and and acidic complexity.

Saeglopur (3713) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - JAN 17, 2021
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2021 2016 vintage, many thanks to Sander! Deep ruby body, with a medium, frothy, pink head. Aroma of barrel, ripe cherry, red apple, citrus, some funk, slight leather. Tastes quite similar, with tart cherry, slight vinegar. Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes dry, wooden, tart, slightly sweet, slightly leathery, with cherry, apple, some citrus. Very nice. Not the most complex Kriek by 3F, but perfectly balanced and still with a lot of depth. Beautiful cherry notes throughout, drinks really elegant. Score: 8 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 15
