COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Batch 3: From the original 12 barrels purchased in 2012, only seven survived after two solera cycles. This batch is a blend of five of these barrels, back blended with a small portion of young 3 Fonteinen lambic. Hence, the average age of these lambics is over 60 months. Because of the sensitivity of the lambic pellicle compared to that of sherries, the solera method will be discontinued.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2020 750 ml bottle to teku, shared with the Mrs. Looks good; a geuzy burnt orange with bubbly white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; citrus, horse blanket funk, and oak alongside well-balanced notes of sherry. Tastes like is smells with a pleasantly citruc medium-bodied mouthfeel that finished semi-dry but somehow leaves your mouth watering. Lovely.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2020 Part 1 of the great Zenne Y Frontera tasting. Descriptions limited to the differences. All batches same colour, save for Solera (Batch 2): No head, peachy-orange veiled beer. Mellow gueuze with pretty fruity notes. Bit vinous, peach. Nutty flavour; strange vinous sweetness, oloroso. Not much carbonation.

UPDATED: APR 25, 2020 Bottle at 10k Social Distancing tasting. It pours hazy golden orange with creamy white head. The aroma is pale berries, oak, barnyard, lemon, little lime, horse blanket and unripe oranges. Quite acidic and moderate fruity sweet. Incredible.

4.3
ctipping (3902) - Florida, USA - FEB 6, 2020
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2020 750 mL bottle. Deep orange. Smells of classic 3 Fonteinen with a big orange citrus, sherry, and oak. Tastes of sour orange, oak, dried grass, cheesy funk, astringency. Wine flavor permeates. Medium body. Back to the quality of Blend 21. Intense barrel character and very strong sourness, but worth the intensity.
