Not your average Summer Ale. Featuring the Summer Saaz hop from New Zealand and coming in at 6% ABV, the Dog Days of Summer Ale is a real Beer Geek’s Summer Ale. Hazy and highly drinkable but still full of character and complexity.
Tap at The Rhino. Bright cloudy golden-yellow pour topped by a thick white
head. The nose is quite juicy and fruity. A nice bright pale malt crackery
note with a lovely spicy/fruity hop note. Lemon/orange and a touch of
tropical fruit as well. Really refreshing and incredibly tasty. Great stuff.
Straw yellow with a rocky white head. Doesn’t last but leaves some lacing. Aroma is very underwhelming, only a faint hint of malt. Flavour is a big improvement, with a cereal and grain bill and some nice spicy hop character, and a somewhat dry finish with slight alcohol warmth. Light medium bodied, very refreshing.
