Editor’s note: formerly "Aarhus Rød Ale".
Rød Ale from Aarhus Bryghus is an aperitif beer. Enjoy it chilled and sense the flavor of cranberries, inspired by the most ancient discoveries of beer in Denmark.

I see no hint of foam in this stock (it is not an ale - as the name suggests), but I note later other good things in this beer, so the lack of foam have no essential. It is lightly sparkling (like a sparkling wine) and smell very delicious of fresh berries (guess raspberry). It’s an incredibly fruity and very pleasant summer beer that tastes of fresh summer berries with touches of a little flower. It has a good sweet balance without being perfumed, carrying me into a comfortable easy hoppy end with an aftertaste and mouth feel of good Danish summer with all included.

Reddish color with a medium sized head. Good when its cold for aperitif beer, but is very special with lots of cranberries taste.

Bottled. Hazy reddish coppery colour with a mediumsized creamy off-white head. Aroma is caramel and bready malts along with some slight floral hoppyness and berries. Flavour is caramel and bready maltyness along with some slight berries, mild floral and fruity hops. Quite pleasantly balanced.

Brown reddish with a decent head. Aroma of nuts and berries. The flavour starts out sweet like nuts, but then goes into an unbalanced acidic finish.

bottle 60cl, as Aarhus red ale (not rød ale), from føtex pours red-redbrown with a light red head. aroma is like vanilla pudding with berries, or a soft cake with berries. and some alc.flavor is slighly sour beer. not very berryish, although i get something that migt be fruit peel bitterness. the friuts i get are citrus, non-ripe oranges, some red berries. palate is nicely soft. strange beer, but somehow is okay and relatively refreshing, i’ve had frut beers with much more fruit and fresher fruit tastes that i liked much better tho.

Cloudy red-amber color, creamy head. Soft but nice malt aroma, a bit soapy in the beginning. Soft mouthfeel, some sweetness, a light mix of malt and cereals flavor, ordinary bitterness. Luckily the berries are difficult to detect.
