UPDATED: OCT 13, 2021 16 ounce can. Love me some Black Metal! Pours a clear amber hue with a large white head. A big sweet malty fresh nose. Smells like a bakery. Smooth, clean, light caramel, light fruit, bready sourdough.

UPDATED: SEP 9, 2021 Can. Adroit brewing one of my favourite German beer styles. Of course I'm curious about that... Color: Clear orange-brown amber, large off-white head. Aroma: Malty, caramel. Taste: Moderate sweet malt, caramel, subtle fruity notes of red and dark fruit. Decent hopbitterness, getting a little stronger at the finish. Very slightly fruity sourness. Bread and light toast notes. Malty caramel finish. Under average carbonation. Medium body. A little less smooth / creamy, a little more bitterness at the finish and somewhat more fruity than the German Alts I've had, as far as I remember, but overall a nice American example of this style.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2021 Wood nose, soapy undertone. Crystal clear deep amber, thick yellow head, nice lace. Grain husk, perfume, grass. Light body, easy carbonation.

UPDATED: JUL 29, 2021 Draught at Peders. Clear amber coloured with a small off-white head. Fruity aroma of hay, hops and bread. Fruity flavour of hay and hops with notes of bread. Hoppy finish.

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2021 Pint can poured to fest stemware at home displaying a clear, brownish amber color with a fluffy layer of off white froth that yielded a persistent ring & film, and foamy ribbons & spots of lacing. The nose was toasted malt, a bit nutty, subtle dried fruit, with slight caramel sweetness. Medium bodied, the taste was somewhat similar notes, with lively carbonation, a grainy & earthy bitterness that possessed a rind-like edge that trumped any sweetness or esters noticed in the aroma, and finishing dryness. A clean & crisp style representative, nonetheless.

UPDATED: JUN 29, 2021 Pint can, WW. Copper, hint of haze, off-white to beige head. Nose is camel, nuts, brown leaf. Woody, earthy flavors: nuts, caramel, brown leaf, green wood, bread crust.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2021 16oz can from Tavour. Clear amber pour, fizzy off-white head. Malty, nutty, dry aroma. Hint of sweetness in the taste, toasty, dry malts, nutty, woody flavors. Right on target for the style.
