On tap (from sampler) at Alcatraz Brewing Co, Indianapolis on 15 March 2010. Gold. Clean and drinkable. Quite restrained hop presence. Middle of the road APA. Not a lot else to say really.

Tap at Alcatraz. Pours clear copper with an average, frothy beige head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toasted), heavy hops (floral, pine, citrus), and average esters (apple/pear) with notes of peach. Flavor is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, grainy, toasted), heavy hops (pine, citrus), and average esters (apple/pear) with notes of pineapple. Medium body and carbonation, low warmth and creaminess with a dry and biting finish.

Sampled at the brewpub. Brownish gold with a light colored foamy head. Flavor is pine and grapefruit hop notes. A nice chewy caramel backbone. Just a hint of cinnamon. Nicely done.

Had this one on draught at the brewpub in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Hazy, reddish brown pour with a one finger, tan head. Excellent floral hoppiness in then nose. Grapefruit dryness and hops balanced with a nice, soft fruitiness that comes through into the finish, before being ultimately overpowered by the nice, potent bitterness of the beer. I liked this one, too.

Amber color. Nice flavor of hops and malts. Good balance. Light to medium body. Good but not extraordinary.

Had on tap while visiting my brother. Big floral/citrus hops, but something is off... not all that enjoyable.

BBB63 (6567) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - JUL 19, 2009
IBGF 2009: Light coppery hue with an okay head and lace. The aroma has notes of bready and caramel malts, grassy and citric hops, and a touch of mineral water. The taste starts with sweet malts and the hop are noticeable but a background player. Moderate hop spice and citric twang throughout. The mouth feel is a tad chalky but fairly good for the style. An okay brew but nothing to make a trip for.

Amber in color with nice lacing on Tap in Indy. This Pale Ale was sweeter than most , but lt passes quickly, with straight dry hops in the middle to a clean finish. Aroma was not noticeably a big play.

UPDATED: FEB 21, 2009 tap at Mad Anthony Oktoberfest - Pours hazy copper and has a nice citrus hop aroma. The white head is long lasting and laces well. It’s hop heavy for a pale ale and in this case it works well. This medium bodied brew is a very tasty pale ale. sampled again at the Indy brewpub.
