northoftheriver (7) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JAN 9, 2022 does not count UPDATED: JAN 9, 2022 473 mL can into chilled Weitzen-style glass. Purchased from Dan Murphy's, Hamilton (Brisbane).
Appearance: Opaque haziness, darkish golden honey colour. Bits of yeast floating in the glass. Thin head < 5mm, disappeared in one minute (cans...what can you do?).
Aroma: Underlying malt/bread base with fruity citrus notes.
Mouthfeel: Very smooth, moderate-to-thick body, moderate carbonation.
Flavour: A lot going on in this flavour profile. Bready maltiness. Floral elements hidden in there, grapefruit sherbet, hoppy bitterness straight away that lingers on the back of the tongue. Balanced well, finishes dry. Nice aftertaste.
Overall: I really enjoy this beer. A particularly nice example of a hazy pale ale. Quite complex flavour profile that comes together to make an enjoyable drinking experience. Very smooth and well-balanced, but dry enough and hoppy enough for my liking. Retro-style can looks great too. Hitting it out of the park with this one. Good stuff AleSmith.

Tony Gwynn was the best fucking hitter to play the game during my lifetime. He batted like 331 or some shit in what added up to a full season's worth of at bats against future hall-of-famers. He had Greg Maddux's number, and batted 415 against him. He batted over 300 in 19 consecutive seasons. It goes on and on.
To match Tony Gwynn, this would have to be Pliny the Elder in like 2004 or something. Instead, it's unfuckingdrinkable. There has to be something wrong with my can. Burnt rubber and industrial solvent aroma, a very odd cocoanut butter flavor, absolute drainpour.
I'm sorry, Tony, and I'll retry this beer in your honor if I ever see it on draft.
