UPDATED: SEP 22, 2019 Pours lightly hazy copper with a white head. Aroma is dried fruit, Brett and Belgian yeast. Taste is plum and caramel, moving to Brett, wheat and Belgian yeast. Finish is plum, Brett and Belgian. A good Belgian.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2019 Taps clear copper with a nice parchment head. Aroma provides strawberry and fresh malt, sweet and a tad tart. Flavor delivers tart amd sweet strawberry with malty and woody hop undertones. Texture offers fair body and lively fizz. Avancé to the bar and ask for a crater.

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2019 On tap at Beer Run. Deep red berry aromas, plum, oaky, jammy red wine. Mostly clear, fleshy pink complexion with a somewhat lasting white head. Dry, tart, funky, bright red berry flavors. Medium-full bodied.

Pours a pinkish copper with white head. Sweet strawberry jam aroma. Tart lemony strawberry with light bourbon edges that bring hints of vanilla and a cider vinegar finish. Notes: on tap at Church Key, DC , Halloween ‘18

Tap at the Brewery, orangey pour bright white head. Nose is full of strawberries. Taste is out of this world. Strawberries dominate and I see why they label this as sour, the strawberry flavor gives you the biggest punch of flavor and it almost feels like I’m biting into one with the lingering after taste.

The reverence that Allagash's brewers have for the old-world Belgian brewing traditions are apparent in so many of their beers. With Avancé they've crafted a Belgian Ale that's entirely of their making. You won't taste anything else that's like it. This brew is brown-colored. Head is minimal. Funky, woody, and fruity nose - it's nearly vinous. Bourbon and strawberries seem like such odd bedfellows, and yet they work remarkably well. The yeast gives off cheesy flavors. The fruit and whisky characters come in after that funky tang. The berries are tart and booze-soaked. The whisky is restrained yet intense with vanilla oak tannin. This drinks like an entirely different breed of dessert beer. Strong and dignified yet not cloying in the least. This ale has class and complexity to spare.

Big punch of strawberries in nose followed by funk, vanilla and wood. Pours pinkish with white head. Taste is dry with more funky notes, however, strawberry is still there. Finish is tart, average carbonation. Overall great beer, on tap at source.

375ml bottle thanks to Eric. Pours out rusty pink color topped with a small fizzy head. Nose is big in your face strawberries some nice barrel notes and a well balance sweet sour. Taste is more of the nice strawberries sweet sour balance with the barrel is amazing. Very well done.

On tap at the Ginger Man, pours a hazy amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out wild yeast, tart strawberries, and a touch of bourbon. Flavour is unbelievably complex and multifaceted, with an incredibly cohesive mix of bourbon barrels, tart strawberries, and some wild yeast. Nicely acidic, with wonderful strawberries and bourbon on the finish. Fantastic.
