UPDATED: OCT 30, 2021 Bottle. Grain, a bit of dark bread, very subtle roast, grass, light nutty touch. Almost no caramel and definitely no sweetness. Smells almost like a pale lager, as the dark notes are not prominent. Unfortunately the finish is a tad astringent.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2020 Bottle. Clear chestnut brown colour with a medium fine pored slightly tan head, nose is malty, roasty and grassy with notes of fresh apples and hints of burnt caramel/liquorice, taste is sweet and malty with a tart-dry finish, body is on the lighter side.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2020 Bottle picked up from REWE, Zolling and consumed at home Attenkirchen Sunday 1st March 2020. Listening to Balthazar - Fever. Pours hazy dark brown with an off white head, tangy, fruity and a touch dry. I was expecting a little caramel sweetness but nothing at all, a little metallic twang. Quite good.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2020 Dark amber with a frothy head. Not very intense smell of roasted malts. Smooth taste with an agreeable bitterness and a little smoked note.

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2019 500ml bottle. Clear, chestnut colour with slight ruby glimmer and average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Grainy, strawy, minimally toasty, dark malty aroma, hints of spelt, a touch of burnt caramel. Taste is sweet-ish dark malty, a touch of malt lozenge, artificial sweetener, some spelt, a touch of burnt caramel. Slightly artificial, monotonous - not good.

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2019 Dark brown and poured with a small head. Swing top bottle. Lovely nutty flavour with a medium body. Pleasant winter beer that was very enjoyable to drink.

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2019 50 cl. bottle. A clear brown coloured beer with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, hops, caramel, bitterness and with a mild roatsed finish.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2019 Der Geruch ist sehr röstig. Dunkelbraun, filtriert und viel cremiger Schaum. Der Antrunk ist sehr würzig und vollmundig. Aromen von Scotch, Kaffee, Schokolade, und Sauerkirsche. Herb und Süffig. Insgesamt schon recht ordentlich

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2019 Bottle from Edeka - clear brown color, white head. Simple Dunkles, but well made, easily quaffable. medium sweetness. okay!

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2018 Bottle. Clear dark brown with shades of red and gold featuring a decent white/beige head. Aroma of malts, spices and metal. Taste is malts, caramel, honey and a little bit of spice. Low sweetness, low bitterness. Earthy and herbal hops. Medium to strong carbonation. Easy drinking Dunkel for the wintertime. It's alright enough.
