snowcrash000 (1790) - Cologne, GERMANY - DEC 30, 2018UPDATED: DEC 30, 2018 Pours a hazy, pale golden coloration with a small, frothy head. Smell is dominated by citric acidity and the typical Alvinne Morpheus yeast profile, with just a hint of earthy/spicy rye character as well. Taste follows the nose, being dominated by citric acidity and tart green apple, as well as the typical, earthy/woody/herbal Morpheus yeast profile and some mild additional spice from the rye malt. Finishes quite tart, with some citric acidity lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation. Quite a nice Berliner Weiße that doesn't benefit from the eponymous rye malt that much though. Good overall balance, with a very nice sourness, but somewhat lacking that rye punch.
