pt_beerguy (52) - - APR 3, 2021UPDATED: APR 3, 2021 The beer's appearance and introduction is textbook. Golden pour with wonderful head retention, it's super inviting in the glass. Its aroma is highly floral, piney cut with malts and citrus peel. A very nice bouquet. The taste is incrediblely consistent throughout the entire palate. It's medium malty sweetness, which is quickly flipped to bitter hops, finishes bitter but very smoothly and light. An easy drinking pale ale which is well structured and doesn't compromise on taste. Hard to compare it to many of the tricked up pale ales today as it may seem basic, but its simplicity as a prototypical APA is wonderful. It may not even be my favorite APA I've had recently; however, this beer's recipe has been around since 1975 and is a standard bearer. Much respect to those that paved the way out of the Miller/Coors/Bud miasma.
